*FF to 6 years later…
“Come on…Gee! I love you, my dear brother!” Aurora yelled, running away from her big brother…who’s 11 years old now.
Gerard ran after his 7 years old sister, and caught up with her, after having a go on the swings set in the park.
“Hey, Aurora…Don’t you ever run away from me…okay? I’m looking out for you, and I want you to be safe…so…stick by my side.” Gerard stated seriously.
“OK…” Aurora stated a bit sadly, as Gerard held onto her.
Gerard looked at her with a puppy dog face.
“Aurora…sis…I’m not telling you off, I’m just telling you to be careful.” Gerard stated, he lifted her chin up, and kissed her on the forehead and nose.
It put a smile onto her face.
“Smile for me…okay…sis???”
She smiled up at her big brother.
“I love you…Gee…”
“I love you too, sis…”
Gerard stood hugging for a long while, and then they both decided to get back home before mom and dad start to get worried. They walked back home together to find little Mikey playing on the front porch, their mother---Donna stood on the front door step, holding a tray of hot new freshly baked cookies, smiling at her kids.
“Hello, mama!” Aurora greeted, as she and Gerard walked up the front path to the doorway.
“Hey…mama.” Gerard greeted, smiling.
Once through the front door, they went upstairs to get change into other casual comfy home clothes.
“Hey…kids…come back downstairs to have some freshly baked chocolate chip cookies.” Donna called up the stairs.
“Yay!!!” Gerard and Aurora yelled happily as they ran back down the stairs.
Donna laughed at her excited kids; she laid out the table with plates of cookies and glasses of milk.
“Come on…sit down and eat.” Donna said.
Aurora and Gerard sat down together side by side, started on the cookies and milk, with grins plastered on their faces. Donna smiled at the happy siblings sharing and loving each other; she walked over to them, kissed them each on the cheeks, and ruffled Gerard’s hair.
“Mama!!!” Gerard moaned, his hands in his hair.
Donna just laughed.
After eating cookies and drinking milk, Gerard turned to his sister.
“Sis…you feeling like to draw, to paint, to sketch and to color now???”
She nodded excitedly and grinned, Gerard laughed heartily at her excited face.
“Come on then…sis…Let’s go and get our stuff.” Gerard stated.
They went upstairs quickly, went to his room, and picked out the art equipments and all the paraphernalia, and went back downstairs with the stacks of art stuff. They sat down at the table and started having fun.
Donna…in the kitchen…could occasionally hear laughs from Gerard and Aurora, she smiled. She stood in the kitchen doorway, smiled at her two lovely children, loving to see how strong their bonding is. She knows Gerard is the perfect big brother any little girl would want to have and Aurora knows it too. Aurora knows it also that she has the perfect brilliant big brother, and she loves him a great big deal. He taught her a lot of things, such as reading, drawing, fishing, swimming etc…etc…and she is really thankful of him.
Gerard is really the perfect big brother, the loving and caring brother he will always be, Aurora knows she will love him for always and their strong bond will last forever a long time to come.
