So far this shows great promise. I am really looking forward to the next chapter.
Author\'s Response: I will have the next 7 chapters up soon as I go through them one more time. If you want to read them now, you can see them at fanfiction.net. My author name is the same there. I also have a discussion thread on darklordpotter.net.Take care,JimTo Fight the Coming Darkness

Such a very nice story so far.
I do like your portrayals so for, you've done a lot of work to give each of them three dimensions rather than just the one or two of most stories. I especially like the self-serving side of Snape that you are hinting at. He seems to have a goal that goes far beyond either Voldie or Dumbledore but what is it?
I also like your characterization of Susan and making more of being a Hufflepuff than just the duffers. I look forward to reading more of this.
On possible snag I saw was when Harry and DD were arguing, I think the Headmaster would be cooler than that, especially given how he let Harry run rampant in his office. Wouldn't he be more likely to close down Harry's arguements with a single well chosen line rather than alternating diatribes? At least that is my opinion. And I was also surprised that harry let the line pass where DD says that Harry is not pursuing a course to become the man he wishes to be. Who is Dd to tell Harry what type of man he wishes to be? As I said I'm surprised he let that pass.
Anyways, good work so far and I look forward to an update.

Author\'s Response: Dumbles, well its after midnight your pushing 160 years old and suddenly your secret weapon portkeys into battle with the most powerful dark wizard of recent history with no backup. He is a bit perturbed. Perhaps he should have a lemon drop. The next 7 chapters will be up by the weekend. If you are dying to read them now go to fanfiction.net. My author name is the same there.JimTo Fight the Coming Darkness

I thought the argument was Good. I thought it could had been better. For one Dumbledore is not Harry's Guardian, so has no authority to tell harry where he can spend his time. I wish that some author would write this part in a story. I alway thought that Dumbledore Manipulated Harry. Think about this when James & Lily was killed, Sirius turn up and wanted Custody of godson. But was told by hagrid that Dumbledore told him that Harry goes to Lily sister. That was out of line. Think from Sirius point of view. His best friend and wife is dead. He lost custody of Godson, His other best friend and the order is going think he betrayed the potters. Because they think he was the secret keeper, and not to know how they are. He had nothing to lose, he would go after peter. Dumbledore started this whole mess. My understand is Dumbledore is only one that has eough power to hid the power. If he did the spell why did not know who was the seecret keeper? I am sorry if this kind of long. I love to read and I thought this good time point out my question and my point of view.Author's response
You have a perfectly valid point about Sirius. I suspect JKR hadn't fully developed the whole story when she first started. You could also ask how did Hagrid get to Godric's Hollow in the first place and how was he going to get Harry to Dumbledore without borrowing Sirius's flying motorcycle. Looking back with all we know now it seems sloppy and haphazard, but I guess at that point she was just trying to sell a book. --JimTo Fight the Coming Darkness

Another good chapter. I like Snape's analysis of why Dumbledork picked the DADA professors that he did. I do hope that Harry doesn't fall for the line of BS that DD was spouting. How in the hell, given the prophesy, goes DD think Harry's going to win. With a kiss? Anyway, good going. Looking forward to the rest of the chapters. To Fight the Coming Darkness

The fucking old fool Dumbledore, of couse Harry is mad, between is 'family' Voldemort and his Death Eaters, Snape and of couse Dumbledore himself, who wants to control Harry all the time, why shouldn't Harry be mad.Author's response
Thanks for the review. Harry's anger issues are just starting....To Fight the Coming Darkness

I think you did a very good job with the argument between Harry and Dumbledore. Though I think Harry missed a telling point: If I had stayed put, "sir", or taken time to try to contact someone, Susan would probably now be dead or hidden away somewhere being tortured by DEs. I took the only available course of action to save lives." While responding in anger and attacking Dumbledore's poor decision-making may have worked well, it left Dumbledore's and Snapes estimation that Harry acted irresponsibly intact. But neither has offered a viable alternative. Perhaps sometimes the only good choice is the irresponsible one.
