That last week before my court date flew by, but I didn't want to go back on tour with my brother. Somehow in those 3 weeks I have completely changed. I wasn't the girl I was when all this happen Steve made me realize that I didn't need to hide in Petes shadow anymore I was my own person.
"Lacie are you ready to go" Steve said
"Yeah so what do you thibnk will happen" I said
"Well we know you won't end up in jail, so they probably will send you back with your brother." Steve said
I sighed
"Cheer up your going to get out" Matt said
"Yeah but I'll miss you and Katie" I said
"I'll always be there for you" Matt said
I lightly kissed his lips and walked out with Steve.
We got the courthouse and I saw everyone including Christy she was hanging all over Brendon. I looked at Steve.
"He was never worth all of this" I said
"Nope" Steve said as we sat down
"Lacie" Pete said
"Hey Pete" I said hugging him
The judge came in we all stood. I was getting nervous I knew Christy would do everything in her power to make sure I stayed where I was. Which a big part of me wanted to stay there, I guess it was because I didn't have to deal with my life.
"Lacie" the judge said
"Yes Sir" I said standing up
"I heard you have made major progress where you have been" He said
"Yes sir" I said
"Well I have been talking to your lawyer and Steve and we think its time you be released into the custody of your brother" The judge said
And like on cue Christy stood up.
"Your honor" Christy said
"Yes" he said
"I would be fearful for my life if you sent her back" Christy said
"I am sorry but we are releasing Lacie back into the custody of her brother if you feel unsafe then maybe you should leave" the judge said
"Fine" She said sitting down in defeat.
"Lacie I don't want to see you back in here" The judge said
"Yes sir" I said
"Mr.Wentz you cam pick your sister up in a couple of hours" The judge said
"Thank you sir" Pete said
Steve and I left the courtroom, I really didn't know what to say to the guys.
"You'll be fine" Steve said
"I know" I said
I went to my room and packed my things.
"Lacie Racie" Katie said
"Kitty Kat" I said
"I am going to miss you girl" She said
"Me too" I said
"Next time we are in town I will come visit you" I said
"I know" She said
"Lacie your brother is here" Steve yelled
I grabbed my bag and hugged Katie goodbye. I ran into Matt on my way out.
"Lace I am going to miss you" Matt said
"Me too" I said kissing his lips.
Steve gave me a hug and I walked out to find Pete and Patrick waiting there for me
I took at deep breathe and looked back at my friends.
"Ready to go" Pete said putting his arm around my shoulder.
"Yeah" I said looking at him
"Its nice going to be nice to have you home" Pete said Patrick nodded in agreement.
I just smiled
We got into the cab and headed to the airport.
"Where are we going" I asked
"Vegas" Pete said
"Again" I said
"Yeah we have a week off and we are spending it in Vegas" Patrick said
"How fun" I said rolling my eyes
We boarded the plane and I fell asleep as soon as I hit the seat.
"Lace wake up" Patrick said shaking me
"Huh" I looked at him
"The plane landed" Patrick said
"Okay" I said getting out of my seat.
We made it Ryans house I got out of the car and walked in
"SUPRISE" everyone yelled
"Okay a good way to give someone a heartattack" I said
"Welcome Home" Spencer said hugging me
"Thanks" I said
Everybody hugged me. I looked around and William wasn't there.
"Wheres William" I asked Patrick
"Yeah Lacie hes with his girlfriend he meet her about a week ago" Patrick said
I let out a sigh of relief. Patrick looked at me kind of odd but smiled.
I smiled back.
"So Lacie how was the nut house" Joe asked
"Peachy" I said
"Okay" Joe said
"No actully it wasn't that bad" I said
"Really" Jon said
"Yeah" I said
William and some girl walked in. I looked at him. He sort of smiled.
I smiled back.
"Lace can we talk for a minute" William said
I nodded my head
"Lacie I am sorry she and I just fit" William said
"Don't worry about it" I said smiling
"Your not pissed" He said
"Actully could careless" I said
"Okay" William said looking kind of hurt.
I walked out of the kitchen.
"So where to next" I said
"Europe" Pete said
"Seriously" I said
"Yeah" Pete said
"Cools" I said
We sat around and everyone told me what I had missed and filled them on what had happen with me.
"We leave in the morning Lacie" Patrick said
"Alright" I said yawning
"Tired" Ryan said smiling at me
"Yeah" I said
"Go upstairs you can lay down in my room" Ryan said
"Okay" I said
I walked upstairs and into Ryans room. I looked around and most his stuff was still in boxes I just laughed to myself and laid down.
"Lacie" Pete said
"Yeah" I said
"We are heading back to the hotel do you want to come" Pete said
"Don't care" I said
"Why don't you stay her with Ryan and we will see in the morning" Pete said
"Fine" I said
"Lace are you mad at me" Pete said
"Not sure" I said
Pete sat down next to me.
"Not sure" he said
"Pete I feel like such a faliure" I said
"Why" he asked
"Look at me Pete I just spent the last 3 weeks in a mental hospital, I can't keep a boyfriend and I am always hiding in your shadow" I said
Pete shook his head
"Sure you have a rough time but this wasn't your fault Christy make sure your life was a living hell she knows that Brendon still has feeling for you so she was trying to keep you away." Pete said
"But its not even that Pete I liked being there I wasn't your sister I was just Lacie" I said
"Sorry" Pete said walking out the room like I had hurt him.
"Pete" I said
"Lacie I don't understand why you think it is so awful being my little sister" Pete said
"Nothing I will ever do will ever look as good or as great as what you do" I said
"Lacie you are special and as soon as you realize that your life will be alot better and you will quit blaming me" Pete said leaving the room.
I sat there thinking about what he had said, me special never I was dooomed to live in Petes shadow forever.
"Lace" Ryan said
I looked up at Ryan I had tears coming out of my eyes.
"What happened" Ryan said
"Pete and I had a fight" I said
"He was upset when he left" Ryan said putting his arm around me.
"Why do I always have to live in his shadow why couldn't I just have a normal brother" I said
"Lace Petes a great guy you to are almost exactly alike" Ryan said
"Yeah I am just crazy and Petes some God" I said
"Come here" Ryan said pulling me into his body he held me tight.
"You smell good" I said
"Thanks" Ryan said
I cried on Ryans shoulder for a while and he just held me.
"Ryan" a voice I wasn't ready to face yelled
"Brendon" Ryan yelled back.
"Yeah are you in your room" Brendon said
"Yeah Bren but right now isn't a good time" Ryan said as Brendon walked into the room seeing Ryan holding me.
I loooked up at Brendon. He looked confused.
"Why is she here" Brendon said
"Because her and Pete had a fight" Ryan said letting go of me
"Lacie are you okay" Brendon said
"Great" I said holding back the tears.
"I am so sorry all of this happen to you I begged her to drop the charges" Brendon said
I couldn't hold the tears in anymore.
"Lacie" Brendon said running over to me.
"Please Bren don't" I said as he tried to pull me into his arms.
"Lacie you may not believe this but I am truely sorry for everything you went through" Brendon said pulling my chin so I had to look at him. I looked in his eyes there was hurt sorrow and I could tell he was sorry.
"Don't worry about it" I said looking at Ryan.
"Brendon we have an early flight in the morning you should head to bed" Ryan said
"Yeah" Brendon said
"Brendon" that obnoxious shrill voice yelled
"Yeah Christy" Brendon said sounding annoyed
"Where are you" She screamed
"In Ryans room" Brendon said
She came walking in and saw me with Brendon and Ryan.
"I told you I didn't want anywhere near that slut" Christy said
Brendon got up and walked out the room.
"He still loves you" Ryan said
"I know" I said
"Come on lets get some sleep" Ryan said
"Ry" I said quietly
"Yeah" He said yawning
"Thanks for being there" I said lightly kissing his cheek.
"Always" he said
I felt Ryans arm go around my waist and I cuddled into him.
"Lace" Ryan said
"Yeah" I said
"Night" Ryan said
"Night Ry" I said
I was asleep a couple of hours before Brendon came in and woke me up. He put his finger to my lips telling me to be quiet. I nodded and followed him out of Ryans room.
