Chapter 6 - T h e F l i g h t l e s s

--- China's POV---

"So China," Oli began,"It's my turn to ask you something. Hmmm, what is...your favorite color?"

Ooooh, he sounded so cute when he said "Color". Darn the brits and they're cute accents!

"Well," I began,"I've always loved red, what about you?"

Oli thought about it for a moment as we walked around the second floor.

"hmm...I would have to say...Cyan blue"

I nodded lightly, Cyan was a pretty color.

"Okay, Gloomy Bear or Hello Kitty?" I asked curiously.

He gave me a somewhat surprised look and thought about an answer.

"Hmmm...Gloomy Bear." He answered.

"Why?" I asked curiously.

"Cause he's brutal and cute, kinda like me, I mean in a non-vain way" He answered sheepishly.

I nodded in agreement. Based upon observations and what I knew about him, he was pretty brutal. He had the cute part down to a T. Suddenly i noticed his hand slip into mine and he quickly took me into Charlotte Russe.

"Oli what're we doing he-"

"Shhhh" Oli spoke as he put his finger to his lips. He turned around and peered outside cautiously. I hovered behind him and stared at what he was looking at. My eyes went wide the minute i noticed the group of girls that were heading up towards us. I couldn't believe that they would all follow me here! Amy, Bridget, Tegan, Nadia, AND Tasha were all there. I quickly shot back and took him further into the store, hoping that the others didn't notice me. We quickly hid behind a rack of hoodies and waited for our fate. I noticed Oli scoot closer to me and squeeze my hand tighter.

"I know this is a bad time," He whispered to me,"But I'd like to ask you before your mates find us."

I looked over at him and waited curiously for his question. He took a small breath and opened his mouth.

"Could I take you...possibly, on a date sometime?"

My mind literally froze at that moment. It would take hours for it to unwind and decode the message that just entered my brain. Did Oli Sykes, Oliver Scott Sykes, just ask me out on a date? Me, China, the teenage alien wonder?

YES! HE DID!

I bit my lip and nodded rapidly, not thinking about the advice my friends gave me. A smile stretched across his face as he leaned over and pecked me on the cheek. I was so close to pissing my pants and fainting, I couldn't believe this! I was living an absolute dream!

"AHA!!" A female voice called.

Crap! Busted.

--- Tasha's POV---

I watched as Tegan pointed directly at the rack of hoodies, letting out a shrill AHA! China and some guy suddenly emerged from the rack and walked out. She smiled sheepishly as the two stood together and listened to Tegan's frantic lectures. I looked down and noticed that their hands were laced together. They were ACTUALLY holding hands. I noticed China's hand quickly pull away and cling to her side. The look on her face clearly showed that she didn't want me to see that.

"Do you understand Missy?!" Tegan shrieked as she pointed her finger at China. China nodded rapidly and looked up at Oli with apologetic eyes. She slowly walked over to our group as Amy, Tegan, Nadia and Bridget gave him a death stare. Oli simply smiled and bowed his head a little.

"I'm sorry for all the trouble ladies," He apologized,"I promise it won't happen again"

"Darn straight it wont" Tegan muttered as she grabbed China's hand. I looked over at Oli and noticed a small smile appear on his face, what was he so smug about? We all turned around and pulled China away from him, leaving him in Charlotte Russe alone.

We walked over to Gloria Jeans and sat China down at the tables. It was time for confrontation. She gave us a cute grin and put her hands together, acting oblivious to what's really going on.

"Don't give us that look Missy!" Bridget scolded as she sat down.

"What?" China asked.

"You were supposed to break it off with that dude!" Tegan spoke sharply.

"I was! It's just that, well, he-" She let out a grunt and smacked her head onto the table. She muttered out the rest of her sentence and let out a sigh.

"What did you say?" Nadia asked, trying to decode what she had just muttered. China slowly lifted her head and took a deep breath. She screwed her eyes shut as she opened her mouth.

"He...asked me out"

We all let out a gasp as she smacked her head back down on the table.

"No! The answers a flat out No!" I said sternly. China shot her head back up and gave us sad, glittering eyes.

"but, but bu-"

"No! He's 21! You can't date him!" Amy interrupted. China let out a whimper and smacked her head back down. I know, we were being harsh, but it's for her own good! If you saw that smug look he gave in the store, I'm pretty sure that you'd be protecting your best friend too.
