Brendon's POV
"Okay children, you are dismissed when the bell rings." Mrs. Wobrock said.
That was the most uncomforable hour of my life.... so far. The teacher gave us the last 30 minutes of class to talk, which was half the class. This just shows you why Nevada is ranked 49th when it comes to education. William was called to the office, and Paige went to the library. I don't exactly know why, but she left. Which left me and Hagen, just sitting there. For 30 minutes. Saying nothing. What was I even supposed to say? I'm sorry for offending you, even though it was an accident, and I don't know exactly what I did to make you hate me so much, but lets talk about stuff! She was sitting there, writing something, for the first 10 minutes. And I was just there. Looking out the windows. Wondering about life, and why it treated me so horribly. After she stoped writing, she turned around and looked at me, for a good 5 seconds. I just looked back at her, and I could feel my face go red/purple. She turned back around, and put her head down. Paige and William decided to come back in the room.
"What'd we miss?" Asked William.
"Nothing. We didn't do anything for 30 minutes." Hagen shrugged.
"How productive." Paige mummbled.
Finially the bell rang.
"I see you later." Paige said to me and Hagen.
"Bah, bah." Hagen waved.
"See you guys later." William said lazily. William offered his hand to Paige, and she took it. They left the room.
I didn't even think about saying bye to Hagen. I just left the room, and made my way out of the school.
Hagen's POV
Why does she even have to do that me? Why would she even go there?
I ran up behind Paige and William on their way home, and tapped Paige on the shoulder.
They turned around.
"Huh?" She asked.
"Why would you even do that to me?!" I demanded.
"What did I do?" She asked, ever so innocent.
"Brendon! Guitar center! Leaving me alone with him!" I spat at her.
"Okay, one, I asked him if he wanted to go to the guitar store with us. Big whoop. He plays guitar, I would assume he likes that store. Two, I didn't leave you alone, you were in a room with 20 other kids."
"Oh come on. Don't kid yourself. You know just as well that I know, that you're attempting to get us together."
"Wait, what are you doing?" William asked, totally dazed.
"Hagen. He's a good kid, and wants to be friends with you. I can tell." She defended, Ignoring William.
"It doesn't even matter. I don't want to go out with him, or do what ever you're trying to get me to do!"
"I swear... Hagen, get over yourself! I'm not trying to get you laid! I am trying to find you somebody, you would enjoy, as a friend and maybe as more than a friend."
"I don't need help!" I shouted at her.
"Is that right?"
"YES! THAT IS CORRECT [gabriel]!"
"Hagen, he's a nice kid. Give him a chance." William suggested, oh so calmly, finially catching on. Ehhh. This whole Will/Paige thing annoyed me. He always backed her up, and vise versa.
I glared at them.
"Honestly, Hagen. Do you even know how you look at him?" Paige asked.
"Like I've just seen an angel?" I asked sarcastically.
"Naw, more like you want to kill a baby." She raised an eyebrow.
"Ha ha." I asked stiffly.
"I don't even know where this is going, but he's coming on friday." She said. She wasn't changing her mind any time soon.
To be honest, I do need a boyfriend, and help would be nice.
But it wasn't like I was going to admit that.
I just stuck my toungue out at them.
"See you tomarrow." Paige said, embraced hands with Will again, turned around and kept walking.
Brendon's POV
Why? Why did she hate me?
Seriously, God, I would what did I ever do to her?
It was the first fucking day of school, Jesus Christ.
I dragged myself home with my backpack in hand, and head phones in my ears, and blasted Nirvana. The bus passed me. The Palo Verde bus. And guess who was on that bus who I happened to see. Who's eyes I could pick out anywhere, even through the tinted bus windows. Those bold blue eyes.. I don't even know what to make of this anymore.
I jabbed my key into the lock, and pushed forwards on the door.
"Is anyone home?" I wondered out loud, for the whole house to hear.
Then I heard the sound of heals kicking up the stares, and down the hall way towards me.
"Honey! How was school!" My mom attacked me with a hug.
Ah, my mom. She was a few inches shorter than my 5'11 self, with curly shoulder length chocolate hair. My mom was just about as pale as I was, which was pretty damn pale.
"It was good." I plastered on my only-my-mother-would-believe-this-smile- smile, and gently pushed her off of me to keep from sofucating.
"Oh sweetheart, I told you you'd like it here." She sighed with a smile.
"Uh huh." I said, avoiding eye contact as I scampered to my room.
I threw my backpack in the corner, and laid face down on my bed.
Why. Why. Why. Why. Why. Why. Why. Why. Why. Why. Why. Why. Why. Why. Why.
I already have someone hating my guts.
But seriously, what did I do? And why should I care? Huh? Why should I even care if she hates me for no reason? What is she to me? I mean, everybody else is great, but what good is she? It's not like I like her, anymore than she likes me. I mean, seriously, she's just a girl like anybody else in the school. There are tons of other people who hated you in Pheonix, Urie, and you didn't give a flying fuck. So why is she any different? What's the worst she can do?
These are the questions I asked myself the whole night.
But I fell asleep asking myself: Why do you care so much?
Paige's POV
Beep beep beep beep.
"All our secrets they are tailored trouble
Draped loose now around your hips
Your spotless instincts are valid
We co-exist"
My alarm. My ipod wakes me up to the sound of annoying beeping noises and then a song at random. Apparently, today Taking Back Sunday's EP was selected. Adam Lazzara, was the singer. They were awesome. I was proud of them.
I rolled out of head, quite litteraly, and fell on my cat, who was on the rug. There was a sharp, quick meow.
"OHMYGOSH. I AM SORRY GHANDI!" I screamed at my cat. Yes, Ghandi's his name.
Ghandi ran away.......
I looked in the mirror. Ehhhhhhhhhhh. The worst part of sleeping was waking up, and looked at yourself. I went into my dresser and picked out my dark skinny jeans, To Write Love On Her Arms puprle shirt, grey hoodie, and dark blue convere hightops. Then I straightened my hair, that looked like a bird decided to make a nest on my head.
Looking for my necklace on my dresser, I found a picture from last year of Me, Will, Hagen, Ben, Caro, Ryan, Gerard, and Kyle. We were at the mall, in the middle of the food court, and Me and Kyle decided to sing Christmas carols while doing the sprinkler, with a tip hat and all. Everybody else was twenty feet away, looking at us, quite scared. Ahhh, good times. We actually made enough for a pretzel.
I couldn't help but to crack up at that picture.
I made my way downstairs to eat breakfast. I grabbed some coco puffs, and milk and sat down at the table.
"PAIGE!" My father called, I could here him coming around the corner.
"Whhhhaaaaa?"
"PAIGE. I AM YOUR FATHER." He said in his darth vader voice.
"Uh huh."
"Okay, I have to go to work now, bye sweetie." Father kissed me upon the forehead.
"Bah."
Then the doorbell rang.
I opened the door. Will was standing there, looking as gorgeous as ever. Wearing dark skinnies, and a brown plaid button down shirt, with the sleaves rolled up half his forearm.
He came over every morning, and we walked to and back from school. He lived just a few houses over.
"Morning." He said with a smile.
"Mornin' " I smiled back, I felt his colar and pulled him closer, our lips meeting, which sent a shock running through my body.
My brother, Lukas, trotted in at that moment. He's quite the testorone filled 13 year old.
"Remember to use protection, children." He wagged his finger at us, and chuckled.
Not breaking the kiss, William flipped him off.
"Talk to the hand, sister." Lukas said back to William in this gayest voice.
William ignored him, and rested his hand, on the back of my neck. Lukas has this thing about attempting to annoy the hell out of everybody, who's company I seem to enjoy.
I finially pulled away.
"So how've you been?" He asked me.
"Pretty, pretty, well." I answered.
I looked at the clock.
"We should probably leave for school."
"Yeah." He frowned, and looked away.
"We don't have to go." I infromed him with my puppy dog face. Even though, we did.
"YEAH, YOU DO, YOU JUEVENILE!" My brother sceamed
"HEY. GO PLAY ON YOUR GOD DAMNED COMPUTER." I screamed back.
"Lets go." He said.
I walked over to the couch, and grabbed my back pack, and we made our way out the door, hand in hand.
A few houses in front of us was a tall kid, in grey jeans, and a black shirt.
"Isn't that, that Brendon kid?" William asked me.
"I think so, BRENDON!" I called.
The kid turned around, and indeed it was him.
We ran and caught up with him.
"Hey guys." Brendon smiled.
I gave him a hug, and William gave him a knuckle touch.
"What's good?" Will asked.
"Ehhhh." He responded.
"I know how you feel." I replied.
Brendon's POV
I felt like shit.
I don't think she knew how I felt.
Look at her, holding hands with this really good looking guy, smiling like the world's actually alright.
I don't have anything against Paige, she's awesome and introduced me to some really cool people, but she probably hasn't felt this horrible.
"Dude, you look really tired." William told me.
"Yeah, I couldn't fall asleep. Thinking...." I trailed off.
"Of?" Paige raised an eyebrow.
"Stuff." I answered quickly.
Why did she hate me so much?
"I see.... So you live around here?" She asked.
"Yeah, 1234 Maple drive."
"Oh! I know where that is, that's around the corner from my house." She nodded.
"We ish neighbors."
"Yup, yup. So going with us on friday? Maybe we'll pick up a movie, watch it at my house, order pizza, it'll be fun." She asked.
I'm in desperate need of a new guitar. And I do like pizza. And I do like movies. And I don't feel like being alone Friday.
But I was still quite skeptical.
"I don't know." I answered.
"Oh come on, it'll be fun. This isn't because of Hagen, is it?" She guessed.
"She doesn't like me much, does she?" I asked quietly.
"DUDE. Grow some balls. Don't let her scare you. That's just the way she is. She'll stop acting so mean after you get to know her." She advised.
She was right. I needed to grow some balls.
"I still don't know." I mummbled.
"She's nothing to worry about, just come with." William added.
"What the hell. Why not. I'll come with." I said, without thinking.
"Thata boy." She said, and patted me upon the head.
I just blinked at her.
"Yeah, she does that." He said to my reaction, and chuckled.
When we reached school, the bell rang.
"See you later, Brendon." They said to me.
"Bye guys."
We went our seperate ways.
Now that I actually, kinda sorta, knew where I was going, getting to class was easier and I wasn't late.
When I walked it, Kyle was sitting at his desk. He was wearing a pair of jeans, a blue hurley shirt and a red hoodie. I sat down in my seat, next to him.
All he did was widen his eyes and wave at me. I waved back, and turned to face the front of the room.
Then the bell rang.
Proffesor Jamieson stood up, in front of his desk.
"Good morning students. I trust that you had a good first day of school. You may all be wondering what is homeroom exactly........ blah blah blah..." I can only pay attention for so long.
We were released from homeroom at 8:15.
Ehhhh math time.
I stuck my head in the class room, and saw that the imfamous Adam Lazzara kid was in class.
I walked over to seat.
"Hey." I said to him.
"Sup?"
"That prank you pulled yesterday was epic, man."
"Thank you, its an old one, but it gets funnier everytime." He put his hand over his heart, and batted his eyelashes.
"Yeah, really. How much trouble did you get into?"
"Not much, just detention for a week. The principal said he was tired of dealing with me." He shrugged.
"A week?"
"Yush."
"Thats not alot?"
"No, I've gotten detention for 5 months before."
"What did you do?"
"Brought chickens to school, and let them free in the hallway." He explained.
"Why would you even do that!?"
"Why not?"
Good point.
"Touche."
The bell rang. Jamieson walked in the room with her meter stick in hand. She looked over the class, and spotted Adam, and gave him the evil eye. Adam just glared back at her.
I couldn't help but break out laughing.
"Good morning children. Please pull out your text books." She instructed.
Math was boring. We spent the hour doing a bijillion word problems.
"Okay, tonight's homework is pages 110 through 115, all problems. You may pack up now."
I tucked my binder into my backpack. What do I have next? Ohhhhhhhhhh crap. Guitar with little Ms. Sunshine.
But its not a big deal. No, it isn't. Grow some balls.
I dragged myself to guitar, grabbed my guitar and sat down in a random seat.
I don't see her.
RRIIINNNNGGGG.
"Okay kids, that was the bell, everybody stand up. Grab your stuff, assigned seating." My guitar teacher Mr.Blank ordered. Mr. Blank was an uber tall, uber skinny, dorky looking guy, but lemme tell you, he could play.
We all stood in front of the class room. He called a bunch names, but I didn't pay attention. It was too busy wondering.
Its amazing how someone who's barley said three words to me, can torment my mind so much.
"Brendon Urie."
"What?" I asked quickly, completley oblivious.
"You. Chair. Sit in it." Mr. Blank ordered.
I sat down. I sat next to some really tall, skinny dude, with long brown hair, and a really pointy nose. His guitar case had a sticker, that read: This is property of RYLAND FUCKING BLAKINTON. If you mess with this fine guitar, property of RYLAND FUCKING BLAKINTON, RYLAND FUCKING BLAKINTON will kick your ass.
I'm assuming the kid's name was RYLAND BLAKINTON.
And nobody sat in the seat right of me.
"Everybody take out your guitars, and books, and turn to page 3." Mr. Blank said.
I heard the door open, and some walk in.
"Is this Mr. Blank's guitar class?" A short girl with uneven strawberry blonde, and red hair asked, quietly.
"Yes it is. Come on in." He replied.
Hello there Hagen.
She walked up to him, and asked him to sign her schedule.
He went into his folder, and wrote something down.
"Yes, Hagen Marshall, says so right here. Take a seat next to....." He took out his seating chart.
Please don't. Please don't. Please don't. Please don't. Please don't.
"Yes, sit next to Brendon Urie, miss." He ordered.
And of course. He does.
"But I don't have a guitar." She said, emotionlessly.
"Well, you are going to have to get one, for now, just take a seat next to Brendon. He doesn't bite, and if does, he doesn't have rabies. The school makes you take shots for that."
I blushed pretty hard.
Hagen's POV
WHY DOES THIS KEEP HAPPENING TO ME?
Eh. He needs to keep away.
I dragged my feet over to seat, and threw my bag on the floor, and sat down.
Brendon's face was as red as a tomato.
Did I really scare him that much?
I relized I had been glaring at him the whole time. I'd be scared too.
I chuckled, and looked away.
"Okay, everybody on page 3 yet? Lets play line 20." The teacher instructed.
I leaned forward, and looked at the page on Brendon's stand.
Damn, that looked hard. There were like 10 sharps.
"One, two, three, play!"
Everybody started playing. No, it was more like attempting. I heard a bunch of weird noises, and wrong notes. Although, I heard one person play it correctly, to the left of me. I turned my head. I was shocked. It was Brendon. He was playing it effortlessly. And I'm not gonna lie. He looked pretty damn cute doing it too.
He was biting his lip, and his hair was covering his eyes. He tried to get it out of the way, and shook his head, so he could see. It wouldn't move. He kept shaking his head. It looked like he had a twitch. I giggled.
I opened my mouth to comment on that but, he glanced at me, embarrassed and somewhat annoyed. I closed my mouth and looked away. He didn't seem to like me much. But I wouldn't like me much either. I acted really weird towards him. I don't know why I was so mean to him yesterday.
"That was really bad." Mr. Blank stated.
There was a bunch of "Yeah, that sucked", "I know", and "Nobody can play that".
"It was actually pretty easy." Brendon mummbled.
"What's that punk? Saying you're better than us?" Nick Jonas spat at him, two seats down.
"No, I'm just saying. It was easy." He whispered back.
"What? SPEAK UP!"
"I said, it was easy!" Brendon said a little two loudly.
The whole class looked at him.
His face turned red.
"Go ahead and show the class how it's done then." Mr. Blank encouraged.
"No its okay!" Brendon mummbled.
"Come on, buddy boy, lets hear it!"
He took a deep breath, and started playing.
The notes were so clear, and pretty. This fingers glided along the neck of the guitar, so gracefully. When he finished up, I looked at Jonas' face. His mouth hanging open, oh so dramatically, and his hands were on his hips.
"Nice job, Mr. Urie." Congradulated the teacher.
He nodded, and sat back in his chair.
"Way to put Jonas in his place." I smiled.
He looked at Nick, still with his dramatic pose, and smiled back at me.
Ah. Maybe he was a good kid.
