Natalie’s POV

Kisses grew more and more urgent as we lie there. We both knew this was a long time coming.

The question was how far it was going to go.

Our fingers interlocked as we made out, bodies pressed together, hips grinding blatantly. The voice inside my head was screaming for me to stop. Pleading with me to push him away and go back to my room but I just couldn’t. Everything felt so right. Brendon gently massaged my thigh with one hand as my tongue massaged his eagerly. His hand rose as he hovered over me, and squeezed as his kisses got deeper and a lot more anxious. I wrapped my arms around him and pulled back some in order to slow him down. “What’s wrong?” He whispered, thick brows furrowing slightly.

“Nothing,” I answered. “Let’s just slow things down a little.”

Brendon smiled and I caressed his face. I felt a little tense, lying there in his bed when I was still tied up with Mike. Even though I knew it wasn’t going anywhere. It was obvious he didn’t want me for anything other than sex, and it was stupid of me to keep it going when I liked Brendon so much. Like, a lot. We had gotten to know each other pretty well and I didn’t want to end up hurting him.

“Nat,” Brendon breathed, moaning against my skin and snapping me out of my thoughts.

“Yeah?” I stroked the back of his neck and he pressed our lips together again hard, sliding a hand up my body. He brought it to a rest just beneath my right breast.

“I want you...” He confessed, hips bucking and making me whimper.

My body was screaming, ‘Yes! Yes! Brendon, I want you too, take me please!’, but my conscience was telling me something completely different.

“Brendon,” I managed to choke between kisses.

“Please? Do you want me to beg Natalie?” He groaned, now cupping and kneading the same breast, gently sucking at my neck. “Please?” I huffed, squeezing my eyes closed. “Please?”

He wasn’t lying about begging.

“Brendon...” I whispered before he reclaimed my lips. We kissed slow and deliberate, but when he literally started grinding his erection against my thigh I knew I had to stop this. I had to tell him the truth.

“Okay, wait.” I said, taking a deep breath.

“What, what is it?” Brendon asked in a sultry voice, attaching to my neck again.

“There’s something, there’s something you need to know. I have to tell you...” I trailed off.

“Believe me, it can wait.” He groaned, teasing and rubbing my nipples through the fabric of my dress. I moaned involuntarily. “See? It can wait.” He smirked, looking me over. I’m presuming to figure out the quickest way to get me undressed.

I couldn’t even speak as he pushed the bottom of the dress up my hips, over my hips to my stomach… hard breathing, fingers tracing the lacy fringe of my panties…

“I’m sleeping with Mike!” I blurted out.

“What?” Brendon asked, halting his actions.

My eyes shut. I couldn’t even look at him. “I’ve been sleeping with Mike. Since the end of Warped.” I sighed.

Brendon sat up scratching his head and I bit down hard on my bottom lip tugging my dress back down and scooting against the headboard. “Mike, the drum tech?” He asked cluelessly.

I shook my head.

“Carden?” I nodded. He sighed. “Is it serious?”

I shook my head again. “No.”

We sat in silence for an awkward moment.

“Why didn’t you tell me?” He had turned to stare at me, waiting for my answer. I looked away.

“I don’t know.”

“Fuck, you can do better than that, Nat.”

“I don’t know, Brendon, it was supposed to be…”

“What? Supposed to be what?”

I finally looked at him. “It’s hard to explain...”

“Try.” He retorted, dryly.

Defeated, I broke down and told him everything. How it started, how Mike got me on the tour and what the arrangements were. I told him there were no sparks or even a real friendship between us. I told him how we always fought or ignored each other and how bad it made me feel sometimes. He asked me why I didn’t just stop it, and I told him I was afraid of being sent home.

Bringing my knees up to my chest, I watched and waited for his reaction.

“Well, fuck...” He said with sigh, sitting on his knees and scratching his head. “How could you...”

“I know I fucked up.” I sighed.

“I really like you, you know?” He said, looking over at me, then sighed and bit his lip. “But...”

There’s always a ‘but’.

“But?”

“Break up, or whatever. With him.”

“I’ve been thinking that I’d just quit and go home anyway.” I shrugged.

“That’s okay, you won’t go home. If…” I stared bewildered as he rose from the bed. “You do it now. C’mon.”

“Wait, what? Where are we going?” I stammered, getting up slowly.

“Carden is downstairs in the bar with the rest of the guys…” Brendon said matter of fact-ly, getting his shoes back on. I did the same and rubbed my left eye. My heart was thumping hard as hell. I didn’t want to do this in front of everyone.

“In front of everybody?”

“You can call him aside, but it has to be now.” He said, folding his arms across his chest.

I nodded. “I’m doing it now.”

“Awesome,” He grinned, pulling me close and kissing me gently. “And once it’s over, we can come back and finish that song.” I smiled as he kissed me again, and we left the room together.

Brendon and I shared a few kisses in the elevator on the way down, but I still felt really nervous for some reason. When we got to the bar, I heard Gabe and Sisky’s laughter before I saw any of them.

When I spotted the group, I walked to the table hesitantly and tapped Mike’s shoulder.

“Hey, can we talk for a min-”

“Heeyyy it’s Nat-a-lie. Nat. Heyyy gurl.” Gabe giggled.

“Hi guys.” I gave him and the others a small smile and then looked back at Mike, who was staring at me weirdly with a slightly drunken smile on his face.

Gabe took that opportunity to wrap himself around me, hugging his arms around my neck since he was so much taller than me, while I struggled to detach myself. “Had a bit to drink, did ya Gabey?” I chuckled as I eased out of his grip.

“A little... Hey, why don’t you have one, hey, hey Ry-Ry,” He slurred to Ryland. “Grab Nat a drink.”

“No, no, I just need to talk to Mike for a minute, okay?” I said, giving Mike another look and heading out of the bar area to wait for him.

Taylor’s POV

I entered the bar in a daze. I didn’t even realize there were other people there and didn’t really care about it. My brain was already shutting off everything around me, which was good, it would take less alcohol to do so. I settled on a stool and ordered a raspberry daiquiri, taking deep breaths and deep sips one at the time. Locking up memories, picking up the pieces, finding what was left and what to keep.

I’ve become a walking cliché. That’s for sure.

“He doesn’t deserve you, you know?” A tipsy voice knocked down the silence in my head and I looked up startled. Ryan gulped down the last of his long island ice tea and sat by my side.

“He doesn’t?” I asked with a little smile, playing with the straw of my already empty drink.

“Nope.” Ryan shook his head. “Look, I won’t pretend to know everything that went on between the two of you, but he’s an ass who was cheating on his girlfriend for a long time and never had the balls to make up his damn mind.”

I blinked. It was a harsh way to put it but he was right.

“Not even now.” He continued. “He’s only picking Christine cause he has to.” I looked at him while he motioned the bartender for a refill on both glasses. Apparently, the Beckett baby wasn’t that much of a secret. “But… his loss if you ask me, he should’ve done something sooner.”

“And what makes you think he would’ve picked me?”

“I don’t know.” Ryan shrugged. “I don’t know her, and I’ve barely known you for a couple of weeks. All I know is no one deserves what you’re going through. You’re better than that.”

I watched him gulp half of his drink and smiled. “Thank you.”

I went back to sipping my drink when I saw, Nat? I thought she was out with Brendon. I looked at her curiously and also saw Brendon behind the entrance, hiding? What the fuck? Ryan looked at me and followed my line of vision, putting the same confused face. And then, I see Carden, walking towards Nat, obviously tipsy, and I huffed in understanding. Ryan looked at me then and I motioned to keep quiet so I could listen.

Mike got close to Nat and wrapped an arm around her waist.

“I thought it was our night off, sweetheart.” He slurred with a smirk. I felt like punching him, he was such an ass. Nat obviously thought the same and, to my surprise, slithered away from his grasp.

“We’re definitively off, I just wanted to talk.” She said.

“Talk?” Carden laughed at Nat. Again, I wanted to break his nose. “You’ve never wanted to talk before.” He hugged her again. “What if we do something else instead? Hmm?” And he bit her neck.

Ryan looked at me again. “What the hell?”

“Long story.” I said with a shrug. Brendon was still spying behind the door, so I assumed he already knew. Ryan shook his head and kept watching.

Nat pulled away again. “Mike, Stop. I’m being serious.” Carden rolled his eyes and sighed.

“Fine, what do you wanna talk about?”

Nat sighed and bit her fingernail. “I wanna talk about us. Or the fact that there isn’t really an ‘us’ to begin with.”

Holy shit. She’s calling it off with Carden?

“What do you mean by that?” Carden asked, obviously put off.

Nat sighed again and glanced behind her, to Brendon. “This isn’t working for me. It’s too hard. And honestly, I want more than sex, Mike.”

“So, this is it?” Carden looked over Nat’s shoulder to the door. Brendon wasn’t fast enough to hide. “Oh, I get it.” Then he grabbed her arm roughly and I nearly jumped on him, but Ryan held me back. “You know what this means, right?”

“Yeah, and I don’t care. Now let me go!” She said trying to pull her arm free. “Carden, let me go or I’ll start yelling.”

Mike let her go after that and ran that same hand through his hair. “Fine. It’s over. Though I could give Brendon some tips, don’t you think?” He added with a smirk. How much of a prick can a guy be?

Nat was obviously wondering the same as she rolled her eyes and shook her head. “It’s been over for me. And don’t hold your breath for my answer.”

“But he’s right there!” Mike said loudly, pointing to the bad hidden Brendon. “Come here, Urie! Let me tell you some things about our little friend Nat.”

“Fuck off, Carden! God, you’re such an asshole!” Nat yelled as Mike already walked to Brendon, putting an arm around his shoulder and dragging him to where Nat was.

“Wanna know a few things about Nat? I could tell you a few things.” Carden said with a half smile. Ryan let go of my arm and I saw him fisting his hands.

I swear, if Nat didn’t knock that grin right off Carden’s face, I would.

“To begin with her…” Carden started, but couldn’t finish. Nat pushed him away from Brendon and gave him the pointy finger.

“You don’t have shit on me! Hey, why don’t you tell everybody here how you’ve been using me and now that I’m fed up with your shit, you’re throwing a tantrum like a 3 year old?”

“I wasn’t using you, Nat! You agreed to this on your own!” Carden spat right back at her. “I never forced you to anything and I can tell you enjoyed yourself.” Said that, he shoved Nat to Brendon’s side. “Good luck with your slut.”

That was it! That motherfucker was going down. I stood up ready to jump on his ass when Nat slapped his face, the sound making all the people in the bar shut up and look at them. Nat glared at Carden, who straightened up and glared right back, before turning away and going back to the table, ordering another drink.

“Finally!” I said hugging Nat. “Now you can get over yourself and do Brendon!” Ryan snickered and elbowed Brendon, who blushed a lot.

“He’s such an asshole!” Nat said with a sigh.

“Yeah, we know.” Brendon said grinning. “But you did it!! And now…” He added with a smirk.

“You can go be sluts together?” Ryan said with a knowing grin. Nat glared at him.

“You want some too, slim?” She threatened.

“Not if you wanna go through me, Natalie.” I said smirking. Ryan nodded smiling.

“I’ve got one hell of a bodyguard.” He joked, making Nat roll her eyes.

“I’m so sure, I’ll talk to you in the morning. I think I need a drink myself.”

Brendon linked his hand with Nat and smiled slyly. “Well, half of the stash in the minibar is still there.”

“Stay off my bed!” Ryan warned. “Or not, we’re leaving in the morning anyway…” He chuckled and smiled a little at me, handing me my drink.

Nat smiled to Brendon. “I do so enjoy your drunken singing.” She giggled. “Night guys!”

I waved to them while Brendon practically dragged Nat away.

“So.” I cleared my throat. “I hope you don’t mind sharing a room with me.”

“Better with you than those two having sex by my side. Brendon is noisy.” He said sipping his drink. I giggled.

“Nat is too. And if you don’t ask how I know, I won’t either.”

“Deal.”
