Mike’s POV
I couldn’t even swallow the mini pizza, thanks to the image of Brendon and Nat sucking faces in the corridor making me a little sick. It’s not supposed to mean anything, but it was still upsetting. Whatever. I wasn’t dwelling on it more than I already had, which was a lot thanks to last night’s drunkenness and today’s hangover. I lied down in the couch, covering my face with my arms, to see if the darkness could make my head hurt a little less, when a loud and hard bang on the door nearly split my skull open. Or at least it felt like it.
Whoever knocked didn’t wait for an answer and simply pushed the door open.
I had seen Taylor pissed before. She wasn’t the happiest person around and always had an ironic comment or snarky comeback. But this… this wasn’t just annoyingness or being upset cause of a lover’s tiff. This was rage in its purest form. And I had never seen that in anyone.
“You, out.” She said pointing to Bill and I didn’t blame him for going out without saying a word as the very air in the room seemed to freeze when she got in.
Bill was out and the door closed with a thud. A second later, Chizzy, Sisky and I were pressing our ears to the door listening to the conversation held outside.
“You have no right to say a fucking thing about me, Beckett! What I do with the people I know it’s my fucking problem and if I recall correctly it never was your business in the first place!”
“I w-was just mad, ok? I-I didn’t m-mean it.” Bill was stuttering, that wasn’t a good sign.
“Oh, you didn’t? I‘m not buying it. Seriously, what do you think of me, William? What have you thought of me all the time we were together?”
“I told you, I saw Nat and Brendon together and flipped! Plus, I-I've seen you and Ryan together. I saw you with him the night you walked out on me.”
“So what? Does that automatically mean I’m sleeping with him? That’s what you really think I’d do? I can’t respond for Nat, even when Carden is a major twat who treated her like shit.”
“Hey!!” I jumped at hearing Taylor say that about me and I would’ve gone out too, but Chiz and Sisky shushed me down and kept me in place, still listening.
“But at least she had the decency,” Taylor continued. “…to call it off with Carden before doing anything with Brendon. She didn’t play both sides.”
The undertones of that phrase were obvious. By the sounds that followed, I could see Bill sighing and rubbing his face.
“That’s nice Taylor. You’ve got a conscience now and you want to attack me.”
“It’s not about attacking you, just making you see that you aren’t exactly in a place to be judging what or who me and Nat do. And I hold on you way more things that you’ll ever hold on me, so you better remember that next time you flip.” Here comes the pointy finger of doom.
“And so what? That’s supposed to be an excuse? I hate how I catch all the shit for this. You act like she was here in bed with me last week when I haven’t been with her in months!” Bill fought back, which I still don’t think it was a very clever idea.
“Then how did she get pregnant? The Holy Spirit did it for you?!?” We had to stifle a laugh at Taylor’s comment. We moved from the door when Tony left the room, giving us an ‘I don’t wanna know’ look. Michael held it open a millimeter so we could have a better view.
“You know what, are you done throwing your tantrum?” Another not so clever idea from William’s part. Taylor glared at him and spoke slowly.
“I know I'm not innocent, but the one cheating wasn't me. I don't know what shit could you possibly get from this, especially when I haven't told anyone about it. What did you lose, Bill? You still have your fiancée, your career and now a baby. What the fuck have you lost?”
William looked down and shook his head. “With your new boyfriend and all, one could ask you the same.”
“He’s not my boyfriend. And in case you need to know, tomorrow I’m taking a plane to the US, back to Charlotte. And newsflash! I’m unemployed.”
Bill paused and got a straight face. “It’s not any of my business.”
“Nat and I aren’t any of your business either; keep that in mind unless you wanna end up like Carden.” She said turning away to leave. William just stood there, his jaw set angrily and his knuckles turned white he was fisting so hard. He was about to do something stupid, I knew it…
“Guess that means you won’t need an invite to the baby shower!” He yelled to her and I knew right away it was the worst idea that has ever crossed Bill’s head.
Taylor turned on her heels and hauled to him, smashing her fist on the left side of his face. The guys and I gasped and swore under our breath at the same time William shouted something very similar and held his face with his hand.
“No, I guess I won’t.” She said and left again, this time not even bothering in looking back.
We scrambled away from the door when Bill came back, pretending nothing happened. He didn’t say a word either and trudged straight to the bathroom, where he slammed the door and locked him self till Sisky told him it was time to play.

Taylor’s POV
I came back to the merch post still fuming. How could he say all those things? I guess I meant even less than I thought to him. He’s an ass, a stupid, stupid ass and he deserved everything he got; even if my hand hurt like a bitch now, I wasn’t sorry for hitting him. I knew I had some ice in the cooler back at the post, so after walking past Nat, who looked at me curiously, got an ice pack and wrapped my hand with it before slumping in a chair.
“What the hell did you do?” Nat asked me, sitting beside me.
“Gave him a small piece of my mind...” I said vaguely. Then examined my hand, which was slowly turning purple. “And apparently a piece of my knuckles too.” I flinched and covered my hand with the ice pack again.
“You hit him? Really?” Nat’s eyes bulged out in surprise. I nodded.
“Yes, really.” I showed my bruising up hand to her. “Right after he asked me if I wanted an invite for the baby shower.”
“Oh, Jesus Christ. This is getting ugly.”
“Whatever. We'll be gone by this time tomorrow.” I duck my head to the table and took a deep breath. “Take lots of pictures in Europe for me, would you?”
Nat sighed and shook her head. “I will. It's not like I have a job to do or some shit. And don't worry about Bill, a couple more hours and you won’t have to see his stupid face anymore.”
“I know, I know… though you can't see the left side of his face now, it's a little swollen and purple.” I chuckled and Nat cringed at the description.
“Damn! I guess he and Mike match now.” She added with a giggle.
“Told him to shut up if he didn't wanna match Carden, but…” I giggled along. Even when I was still angry the whole silliness of the situation was funny. “This is so stupid.”
“THEY are stupid!” Nat and I laughed again before Tony called her to the green room, telling her one of the guys would need make up today. I couldn’t help bursting out laughing. Tony just looked at me and shook his head, saying he didn’t really wanna know. Besides I was already leaving, so it wasn’t like he could fire me or some shit.

The show was over and the merch post was down. For the last time I’d be in charge of it. I walked to the van sighing and still holding the ice pack to my hand.
"Hey." Someone behind me said and I turned to see Ryan.
"Hi."
"Uum--" He started, but whatever he was going to say, he didn't. "What happened to your hand?" He asked rising an eyebrow.
"I hit it..." I answered vaguely, failing to stop the corners of my mouth from turning up. It was so ridiculous...
"Against what exactly?"
I couldn't open my mouth or I would've exploded in laughter. But I didn't have to answer anyways, cause the rest of the guys, including TAI... where getting to the vans too. And the cattle included a tall guy wearing sunglasses that didn't quite cover the purple spot on his left cheek.
"Here comes your answer."
"Wow, you got him good." Ryan turned to see William. I just smiled and shook my head, walking backwards and got into the next van, where I wouldn't be near Bill. Old habits die hard I guess, cause I realized I wouldn't be riding that van ever again. After years of doing so.
The pain on my hand faded as a cold feeling appeared inside my chest and I slid my shades on, leaning on the van just to get a glimpse of Bill. He also turned his head in my direction, but nothing in his body language made noticeable if he saw me or not. It was a waste of time, I told myself, and finally climbed the van.
