Harry Potter was born

On July 31, 1980,

During the First War,

And under a prophecy that was weighty.

He had his father's face and hair,

Plus his mother's bright green eyes,

And then (apart from his glasses) acquired sometime later,

A scar shaped like lightning from stormy skies.

Between awful relatives and corrupt and/or evil wizards,

He's been through a lot over the early and Hogwarts years,

Combining both his best victories that make everyone smile,

And the tragedies which have brought him (and some of us) to tears.

Since there's no way that Rowling would let our hero die,

We only assume that he's still alive today,

So with much favoritism and candor,

We lift our heads and say:

"Harry Birthday, Harry Potter,

Today you're 24,

You've gone through so many years and achievements already,

So here's hoping to even more!"
