Perfect. Everybody was staring at me just because I was the new kid in this dump. I thought everybody would of known already seen as though I moved here during the holidays.

Then again this is my first day in school and most of these people haven't seen me before with their own eyes. They had only heard the news of a new girl in town. An English girl.

With everybody staring at me I started to feel self concious. I acted like I didn't care though. I didn't want to give them even more of a reason to stare.

As I sat down with my tray at an empty table I tried not to make eye contact with anybody. So I ate my salad looking at the table the entire time.

The bell finally rang after what felt like a life time. I couldn't wait to get home and hide from all the staring eyes but before I could do that I had two more lessons to endure. I was lucky I could bare the next one - English. I was lucky though for my last lesson it was one of my prefered subjects to do - Art.

English passed in a blur which I was thankful for. It was a mess around lesson so everybody was talking and not doing their work. I didn't bother doing mine because I didn't know what they were doing in this class. I was happy when the bell rang, I ran out of the classroom to Art.

When I entered the noisy classroom everything fell silent. I ignored it and power walked to the teachers desk.

"Hello dear. You must be Izabelle. Its a pleasure to have you in my class. I'm Mrs Blackwell." I was greeted by a woman with long ginger hair which was in loose curls. Her clothes made it obvious she shops in Charity stores.

"I don't mean to be rude but I prefer to be called Iz or Belle." I told her smiling slightly, hoping she won't shout at me.

"Of course not Iz. Why don't you take the empty seat over there next to Scarlet." She pointed towards a girl who had black and pink hair stuck out at mad angels.

I nodded and sat next to the girl named Scarlet, she looked up as I approached then back to her work. I took my pencil case out of my bag, which was plain white with my favourite bands wrote on in different coloured markers.

Something about my pencil case interested Scarlet because she had lost all concentration from her work and was staring at intently at the pencil case.

The final bell rang quicker than I expected, I must of lost all sense of time due to drawing. I packed my things into my bag and grabbed my jacket ready to leave when somebody spoke to me.

"Hey! It's Iz right? You fancy coming getting a coffee with me and a friend?" I turned to see who asked me the question and was surprised to find it was Scarlet.

"Yeah sure okay." I was surprised somebody was actually talking to me in this place. Scarlet seemed pleased with my answer because she was smiling.

"Come on then. We better get moving she's a tad impatient." She joked. We set off walking towards the car park.

"Do you want to drop your car off at your house or drive to the coffee house yourself?" Scarlet asked after a moment of silence.

"If my car was here yet, I think I'd still ride with you seen as though I'm new to this town." I told her.

"Oh when are you getting your car?" She asked. Scarlet seemed really interested in my life and everthing.

"It should of turned up today during school, but knowing my luck it probably hasn't." I laughed that would be just typical of my luck. If it hasn't turned up looks like I'm walking again tomorrow.

Scarlet laughed with me as we approached somebody leaning against a car. I took it as this is the friend Scarlet was on about.

When we stopped infront of Scarlet's friend, I noticed that she was small but she looked like the kind of person who would be loud.

"Who's this then Scarlet?" She asked her looking at me.

"This is Iz, and Iz this is Leighton." Scarlet introduced us to each other. Leighton smiled and I smiled back. "Anyway let's go get coffee and fill Iz in on everything." Scarlet said while climbing into her car. Leighton got in the fornt while I got into the back.

We arrived at the coffee shop just after four, so it was still quiet in there. When we entered Scarlet told the person behind the counter what we wanted and we all put money towards it.

After we got our orders we went and sat in the couches in the back corner. As soon as we sat down Leighton started talking.

"There is quite a lot you need to know for both inside and outside of school." She began. "I'll talk you through what you need to know inside of school and Scarlet will tell you about outside of school." Scarlet nodded in agreement to what Leighton was saying.

"In school the entire population is split up into groups. There's the Gngstas', the Outcasts', the Populars' and the Neards'. Each group doesn't talk to each other and if you try to you'll regret it instantly. The Gangstas' are never in school for the full day, they come and go as they please. The Populars' make everyboy's life painful in school. Nobody even makes an effect to try and get revenge on them because they'd have you kicked out of the school quicker than you can say huh? So stay away from them at all possible times. The Neards' will ba bale to hook you up with anything and everything. This is the only group everybody is allowed to talk to because they don't care. Finally - and most importantly - the Outcasts' which is us. We're the ones who go to every gig possible in this state. We have less power than the Populars' but more than the Gangstas'. We're the most frightening out of the groups. Not even the Populars' want to get on our wrong side." She laughed at that point, before she continued.

"The teachers are easy enough to understand. Art, Drama and Music teachers are all hippy and have a great sense of music. PE are easy going you can get away with hiding in the changing rooms all year and still get an A on your report. Language, RE, History and Geography are okay unless they are in a bad mood. The Science teachers are the strickest teachers in the school. The English teachers don't have a clue what they're supposed to do so we get to mess around in those lessons. The Maths teachers don't care what you do so long as you get good grades." Leighton concluded, by the sounds of it this is totally different from my school in England.

"Okay. I'm happy about PE then. I'm absolutely rubbish at it." I laughed and so did Scarlet and Leighton.

"Outside of school is different though." Scarlet told me. "You're going to be out in the Outcast group for sure with the music you like, so I'll give you the Outcast rules for outside of school." Each group has different rules for outside of school? This should be fun.

"You always go to the basement gigs unsigned bands put on, and get peoples numbers. Then if we find out the date of the next gig before them we spread the word and the other way round. We never go anywhere alone apart from the corner shop near your house. We always go to coffee shops most days. Most importantly we only shop for clothes in one shop which is round the corner from here. Oh and never go to the park to meet people." She warned me.

"So this is everything I need to remember to survive here?" I asked them both. They nodded in unison.

After that we sat and talked about music, books and films we were into. It turns out we have a lot in common.

When it reached half six we decided to go home and axtually see our families tonight. We left a tip on the table for them and climbed into Scarlet's car again. Scarlet decided to drop me off first.

When she pulled up outside mine there were two cars in the drive, which meant my car had turned up and my mum was home from work. I said bye to Leighton and Scarlet and climbed out of the car. Just before I closed my front door I waved at them and watched the car disappear around the corner.

"Izabelle Jasmine Pattinson where have you been?" My mum asked me when I walked into the kitchen.

"I went to the Coffee House with two friends from school." I replied putting my bag on one of the chairs around the table.

"Friends? You've only been there one day. What are they called?" I'm surprised she responded like that.

"Scarlet Williams and Leighton Armstrong. Scarlet is in my Art and Music class, whereas Leighton is in my Science, PE and English class."

"Okay fair enough. Your tea is in the oven." She seemed happy with my answers.

After I ate my tea I went up to my room which we finished decorating the other day. I sat on my window sill looking around my room before looking oot onto the street.

My room was amazing, each wall was different but it represented me better like that. The wall opposite my door was white and we painted splodges of different colours onto it. The window wall next to it was purple and had a few posters on it. The wall with my door on it was covered in lyrics and bands. The other wall was my favourite.

It was black and had my silouette on in purple and above it was my name in silver and my hand prints. After today I'd have to add Sarlet and Leighton.

While sat on my window sill I completed the homework I had gotten today then went on my laptop for a while.

I deleted my old twitter account and created a new one. I wanted a fresh start. I edited it so it was very me. It didn't take me long to do - thankfully.

After I was finished on my laptop, I had a shower and jumped into bed. I was asleep before my head hit the pillow.
