~~Lunchbreak~~
Sitting under a tree in the courtyard a blonde girl running towards her catchs kayos attention,
"Kaammmmeee!"
|urk|
"Stop calling me that!!"
She glares up at the puffed out girl as she closes a scrapbook she was drawing in.
"oh, what are you drawing?" the girl asks, pointing at the scrapbook
kayo looks away in embarrisment.
"its nothing.."
"yeah, sure.... let me look!" snatching the book the girl quickly flips through the pages looking for the new drawing
"h-hey! give that back!" she yells standing up and trying to grab the book back.
"no." turning the next page she finds the new drawing, which is of a rather handsome looking guy
"ah here it is... wow thats soooo good kayo.... but isn't that Jason?"
"yea- no! no its not!"
"haha it so is him! i know you've got a crush on him kayo"
"no i don't!"
"then why are you going bright red then!? hahahaha"
kayo quickly tries to cover her reddening cheeks ".. im not!... your a big meanie lily!!"
"oh really? teehee sure whatever.. here" passing kayo the scrapbook lily throws down her own pink princess backpack and sits down to begin rumaging
around inside it for her lunch.
"why do you still have that backpack lily?? its old, you must have replaced the arm straps about a gazillion times by now.." kayo says as she also sits down and get out her own lunch
"i love it so thats why" leaning back lily takes a bite out of her cornbeef sandwiches.
"ewww... how can you eat that.. cornbeef is horrible." also leaning back against the tree she takes a bite out of a fresh dumpling...
"ugh... will you quit with the questions and stuff its all you've been doing to me today."
".... have i?"
"yes! geez.."
"oh... im sorry" with a sad expression on her face she looks up at the sky.
"huh?" sitting up lily looks at her in confusion "whats wrong?"
"... nothing."
"yes there is, tell me.... you didn't get hurt by-" she glances around to check no one is listening. "by the spooks again did you, kayo?" she says in a quieter voice..
"wha?" kayo glances at lily then returns to staring at the clouds "... no.... i... found one of the doves this morning.. i think a cat had it"
"oh.. was it dead"
"yeah..."
"oh"
A few minutes of sad silence passes by before either of the girls move..
"i'll bury it when i get back home..."
"where to?"
"hmm.... you know that big chestnut tree at the bottom of the garden..?"
"yeah.."
"well.. i'll bury him by there.. just inbetween the strawberrys.."
"... you love the doves don't you?"
kayo looks at lily again and nods her head "they remind me of the good things.."
with a chuckle lily stands and packs away her half eaten lunch, much to kayos confusion.
"come on, stuff your things in your bag. if we run then we can make it to the rooftop to feed them before the bell goes."
"lily..."
"come on! hurry up"
"o-okay..." she quickly sits up and does the same.
