I jump into the gigantic pile of leaves. Joe follows me, landing just beside me. I lean over him and kiss his lips. We get buried into the leaves, kissing and rubbing each other’s bodies. We hear a car pull up. Joe pulls away, about to get up. I pull him down, back into the kiss. I figure whoever it is can wait just a little while. I slide my tongue between his lips. I run my fingers up his leg, to the crotch of his pants. I tug on his zipper when I hear a familiar voice.
“Patrick! Joe! Open up!” Andy yells, pounding on the door.
Mark grabs Andy’s arms “Chill out, they may not be here.”
“Both cars are here.”
“Well… maybe they’re… Busy…”
Joe and I giggle from under the pile of leaves. Andy raises an eyebrow and walks closer. Joe grabs his ankle and pulls him in with us. Andy yells and falls into the pile of leaves. Mark chuckles and jumps in himself. After playing in the leaves, we all go inside, our hair full of leaves. We sit on the couch and Andy informs us of something he believes we’ve forgotten.
“There are two things! One, did you find someone to marry you? And two, Bob kinda got left out of the whole mess.”
“Nah, Bob has a job, and that’s taken care of too.” Joe smiles.
“What’s Bob doing?”
“Top Secret information.” I pause dramatically “You see, if we told you, we’d have to kill you.”
Mark and Andy roll their eyes at our slight immaturity.
The wedding is tomorrow. Unlike most couples, going through all of their shit and making sure its all perfect, Joe and I are just relaxing today. I CANNOT believe we’re about to be married. And, I feel myself growing a little nervous. Marriage is permanent. I love Joe, and don’t see him and I ever regretting being married, but there’s still the “What if” factor. But I’m not going to stress it. I think Joe and I will do just fine together.
Andy smiles over at us.
“What?” we ask.
“It’s weird seeing two of my best friends getting married.” He says simply.
Mark nods “Yeah, now we know how you guys felt.” He chuckles.
I grin “Weird, huh?”
They nod.
“But not bad.” Andy smiles.
I sit outside on the porch, watching the colored leaves fall from the trees. I take in a breath of the fresh, fall air. Joe is inside watching some TV show that I’m not particularly interested in. So I take the time to sit outside and think. I’m alone for about fifteen minutes, and then the door opens. I expect to see Joe come out, but its Andy.
“Hey.” He smiles, sitting on the porch swing beside me.
“Hey.”
“Are you feeling alright?”
I nod “Just a little nervous.”
He nods “That’s perfectly normal.”
“Yeah…” I pause “But I’m not thinking about backing out or anything.”
I sound like I’m trying to convince myself.
He smiles “I know. And don’t worry, Joe isn’t either.”
I smile back “I was wondering for a while, but now I feel like… like we’re both ready, ya know?”
“Yeah.” He grins, “Well I just wanted to make sure you were alright. Do you want me to leave you alone now?”
“Nah… friends are supposed to bug each other.”
I wake up to the alarm clock screaming. I shake Joe awake who merely grumbles sleepily. After I finally get him awake, we get dressed and he drives hurriedly.
I can’t believe this is It.
We get to the place and get everything ready for the ceremony.
As I wait for everyone to arrive, I look over my vows, making sure nothing sounds stupid, for lack of a better word. My palms sweat and my heart rate doubles. Breathing has turned into hyperventilating. Mom walks over to me and puts a cool rag on the back of my neck.
She smiles “I had a panic attack at my wedding too.”
I nod, “I feel like I’m gonna pass out.”
She nods “Come outside with me, fresh air should help.”
Unable to talk, I just nod again.
We step outside and the cool air hits my face. I almost instantly feel better.
I’m really about to be married.
Ok, first I want to apologize for taking so damn long! ANd its a really shitty update, since it's short, but forgive me please, I've had a lot of homework lately. Love you guys, Review and Rate?
