"He's not here." The nurse answered their question and stared at Steven. 
"What do you mean he's not here?' Steven asked. 
"He's in surgery right now." 
"Oh well when he gets out can you have like a doctor or someone tell us if he's okay?" Cyrinda asked. 
"Depends, Are you guys a family member of his?"
"He's a friend of Joe." Cyrinda pointed at Steven "And I'm getting married to Joe." 
"Wait in the lobby and we'll come out when the surgury is over okay?"
"Fine." Steven scoffed, crossing his arms. 
"Come on Steven." Cyrinda said and walked back to the elevator. 
"Goddamn it, this sucks!" Steven pushed the button that would take them to the lobby. 
"You wouldn't wanna see Joe in surgury would you?'
Steven thought about it and gave out his answer "Nevermind."
"Yeah" Cyrinda giggled. 

An hour Later
"Damn it's 1 oclock and they still haven't came out" Steven sighed. 
Cyrinda sighed and rolled her eyes "I'm getting a little impatient!"
Just then Joe's mom came in. 
"How is he?" She asked Steven. 
"We haven't found out yet." He answered back "They are supposed to come out any minute."  
The elevator doors binged and a doctor walked out. 
"Are any of you guys related to him?"
"I'm his mother."  
"Okay well your son has been shot in the arm and shoulder. The bullets didn't hit an artery or vein, so he'll be just fine."
Cyrinda sighed and asked "Thank god. Can we go visit him?" 
"He should be waking up right now... So you guys may go visit him. He's in room-"
"Yeah we know what room he's in." Steven got up and ran towards the elevator. Cyrinda was the first to walk in the room. Joe had just barely opened his eyes. He smiled when he saw her. 
"Hey baby" He said in a low voice. 
"Hi Joe." Her eyes were watering up. 
"Ugh my shoulder hurts" He complained.
"At least you survived!" She walked towards him and sat on a chair beside him "I love you." 
"I love you too" He smiled at her. 
"Your mom and Steven are here but I do know what's taking them so long." Just then, Steven and Joe's mom walked in. Huh, that's funny.  
Joe looked up at them "Hey mom... Hey Steven"
"Joe honey are you okay?" His mom ran  towards him. 
"Yeah mom I'm fine." 
She smiled at her son. 
"Steven... What's up?" Joe weakly smiled at Steven. 
"I promised myself I wouldn't cry" Steven looked away. 
"You're a wuss" Joe laughed "Just kidding."
He looked at Cyrinda "So what happened?"
"You got-" 
"Joe, honey, you got shot... I think" His mom interrupted. 
"Yeah you got shot. Do you want me to explain?" Cyrinda asked. 
"Yeah cause I don't remember a damn thing!" He giggled. Joe's mom glared at him when he said that "Don't say those words in front of me!"
"Sorry."
"Ok well Jared came back but he was looking for you! He had a gun and he-"
"Who wanted to shoot my baby? Who is this Jared?" His mom interuppted Cyrinda again. 
"Mom, just let her finish." Joe spoke up. He was beginning to get annoyed with the way she was acting.  
"Anyway, he ended up knocking me to the ground, getting ready to shoot me when you came in. Jared called me names and you backed me up by saying some stuff. Jared tried shooting you, but he missed. You charged after him and fought Jared for the gun. Then some shots fired and both of you guys fell to the ground. I called the cops and ambulance. Jared died instantly and you needed to be in the hospital." Cyrinda explained "And now your here, alive!"
"Wait who's Jared?" His mom asked. 
"Her exboyfriend" Steven quietly said.
"You? You almost got Joe, my baby, killed?!" His mom got in Cyrinda's face.
"He survived!"
"Yeah but what if he didn't? You'd be held reponsible for his death! I have another reason to hate you! You almost killed my son!"
"You know what?" Cyrinda sternly said
"Steven." Joe looked at him and flashed him a 'get her out of here before things get worse' look.
"Hey why don't we go get a soda or something." Steven pulled on Joe's moms arm. He pulled her away while she and Cyrinda were both glaring at each other. They both disappeared. 
"Are you okay?" Joe asked
"No I'm not! She has been very mean to me ever since we started dating!" She was on the verge of crying "I don't like this Joe! What she just said really hurt me!"
"Just ignore her."
"I can't!"
"Yes you can. Can we please talk about something different? What else happened?"
"You called me your fiancee." She blushed. 
"Well you are." 
"We're still engaged? I thought you said we weren't getting married."
"You still stayed by my side all those years and I admire that."
She blushed "Aw Joe! I love you! I'm so glad we're getting married!"
"I love you too." Just then Joe's mom came in.
"Did I just hear you two talk about marriage?" She was very unhappy "No! You two can't get married!"
"Well we are getting married, whenever you like it or not!"
"Shut up!" Joe's mom rolled her eyes.  
"Mom! We're gonna get married so deal with it!" Joe glared at his mom. 
"Why?" 
"Because I love her and she loves me. If you're not going to accept that, then don't even bother talking to me! All you've ever done was call her a whore.
She's not a whore!" He paused "Just leave."
"You're kicking out you're own mother?"
"Yes I am! BYE!"
She stormed out and Steven walked in.
"Where is she going?" Steven asked, looking back. 
"I kicked her out. She was trying to start a fight... Again." 
"Wow Joe. Well I'm gonna be leaving."
"Why?"
"Jack wants me back at the studio to discuss some stuff with him."
"Oh okay. Well talk to you later then."
"Bye Joe. Bye Cyrinda" He waved and walked out. They stayed quiet. 
"I'm sorry you had to hear that but I was getting tired of it. I should have done this a long time ago..."
"So when do you think you will be out of the hospital?" She quickly changed the subject. 
"I don't know. Probably tomorrow. When I get out of this place, We're gonna find a different apartment. I don't like where we are living right now. Anyway I hate it here, I wanna get out of here!"
"Be happy that you lived!"
"That's true." He laughed "Man, when I get out of here, you'r egonna give me a massage!"
"Oh yeah?" 
"Yeah my back hurts."
"Ok, I'll give you a massage but you're going have to return the favor by giving me one"
"Damn it." He laughed. 
"Shut up." She laughed
"I'm sorry about what I said. You know breaking off the engagement and all. I was just a little upset about all this. I was at Steven's the whole entire day and I'm sorry I didn't tell you. Breaking off the engagement got me thinking how lucky I was to be with you and how I've taken you for granted. I love you with all my heart and I should start appreciate it! I should stop 
accusing you of cheating because you'd never do that!" Joe explained.
"You do show it but yeah you should stop accusing me. You are a very sweet and senative guy and you know what? I love that but sometimes you can be such an asshole!"
A nurse walked in and announced "Visiting hours are over!"
"Do you know how long he is going to be here?"
"I'd say until tomorrow morning or in two days"

"Ok well I'm gonna be staying at a friends house or something." She got up "I love you."
"Love you too." He blushed and smiled.
"Aw Joe." She giggled "Bye."
"Bye" He watched her leave. He was so happy things were back to normal between them...

I'm pretty sure Joe's mom isn't like this in real life. I heard she's nice, but to make this story work, She has to be like this.
