It's true that Kyouya loathes Kuze on general principles. The boy is a cretin and a bully, and even Kasanoda Ritsu conducts himself with ten times more class.

It's true also that Kyouya, as an exercise in dark humor, keeps a dossier on Kuze, regularly updated, and on any given week can put his finger on eight ways to ruin Kuze, his family, and all their business holdings, overnight.

Ironically, Kuze is safe as houses from Ootori Kyouya. His reputation, his fortune, and his family are all secure, thanks to one thing: Kuze will never let Kyouya forget who he is.

Kyouya will never become complacent, will never take today's successes for granted, or cease pushing himself as far as humanly possible past the supposed handicap of his birth, so long as the uncouth, unimaginative, unworthy Kuze is there to taunt him with it.
