I yawned loudly as my eyes adjusted to the bright morning light that shone through my bedroom windows. I sat up in my bed and pulled at my hair which was slightly tangled from the nights slumber, I threw my legs off the bed and stood up, dragging my feet as I made my way into the kitchen.

"Gooooooood Morning, Gemma" said Brendon, my older brother as he sipped on his orange juice. He had already showered and dressed for school, he was definately a morning person which I wasn't.

"Hey" i said dryly while pouring a cup of coffee,"Where's mom and dad?"

"Already left for work, it's almost eight you know?"

"Yea, I know" i replied

"Yea....and you're not dressed yet"

"I know that too" i said as i returned to room desperatly searching for something to where, I settled on a pair of jeans, a black Iron Maiden t-shirt, a black and green hoodie and my converse. I showered, got dressed and met Brendon at the door all before 8:30

"Finally" he said in an over dramatized tone, he hated when people weren't on time, everything has to go according to his schedule.

"Geez Brendon, calm down it's barley 8:30" I said while grabbing my back pack

"Whatever, let's go" he said as he opened the door and stepped outside, it was a nice day, the sun was out but it was still breezy, I took a deep breathe of warm air and I looked around the neibourhood we now called home, the move to New Jersey had been difficult but not as bad as the thought of a new school, I wasn't really that popular at my old school but I was liked it there, my thoughts were interupted by the shouts of Brendon who had alredy managed to make it half way down the street. I jogged to catch up with him, the walk from home to school wasn't long at all, in a little over 10 minutes we were there.

"Wow,nice place "Brendon said sarcasstically as we looked up at the old building.

"Yea " i said shakily, slightly intimidated by the worn out place, I really hated new schools.

"Oh, don't be scared" Breandon said mockingly

"I'm not scared!" I lied

"Sure you're not...what do you have first?"he asked, changing the subject

"English"

"Well,I've got math...so I guess I'll see you at lunch then" he said

"Okay...yeah"i said looking down to the ground, i really didn't want him to leave, I didn't want to be by myself. He turned to me sensing my uncertainty and gave me a quick hug,"It'll be fine, stop being such a scaredy cat" he said playfully and tousled my hair.

"Yea...you're right, how bad can it be?"

I stepped into the large empty hall way, every one was alredy in class and I shuddered at the fact of having to walk into a classroom full of students."Room 21" i said to myself looking at the numbers on the doors,'19, 20, 21' I took a deep breathe and turned the knob, the door creaked slightly as it opened, I tensed as all the heads in the room looked up at me.

"May I help you?"asked the teacher from behind his desk, he had big ears and wore over sized glasses, I had to hold back the laugh welling up inside me, I cleared my throat.

"I'm...uhh...Gem--Gemma Harrison, I-I'm new" i mumbled

"Right" he said nodding. "Our new student, well I'm Mr. Hegawall" he said warmly. "Class, this is Gemma Harrison, she just moved here and I expect you all to give her a warm welcome." I felt my cheeks grow hot and I knew I must have been bright red by now. "Ms. Harrison, you may have a seat." I quickly sat in the first chair I could find that was a safe distance away from any other students.

The day passed rather quickly and before I knew it, school was almost over. I had mustered up the courage to talk to afew people and they seemed really nice, this girl named Dawn even helped me find my classes which I was really greatful for.Art was my last subject and I was really excited about it, I liked art and was actually kind of good at it. I slowly entered the room to find the class empty,"Hi, there" i heard someone say from behind me, I tunred around and looked up at the rather handsome man that now stood before me. His hair was black and hung just below his ears, he had pale skin and beautiful hazel eyes that I thought I could look at forever. I was taken by his beauty, unable to speak."Are you okay?"he asked

"uhh...yea,I'm new and I...um--" i mumbled

"Oh,Gemma Harrison...right?" he said with a smile, I blushed a little

"Yes" i said quietly

"Well I'm Mr. Way, nice to meet you" he said holding out his hand for me to shake, which I did hesitantly. "Well you're a little early so I guess you can take a seat untill class starts" he said with a smile,he had a really nice smile I thought to myself, as the first set of students entered the room. The class went pretty quickly, Mr.Way gave us an assignment and everyone went straight to it. He stopped to look at my work and smiled making me blush, we held each others gazes for awhile until it was interupted by another student. As I lay in bed that night I thought about my day. It wasn't nearly as horrible as I had imagined, it was actually
kind of good, I relived the day in my mind. I found myself thinking of Mr. Way, he was so adorable,I knew he was a teacher but I couldn't stop thinking about him, my thoughts of him faded as I slowly drifted off to sleep.
