The rest of my week in LA went quickly as we all preped for the tour to start. We had to load the bus with food and make sure that we had everything we'd need packed up. The day came fast though and before I knew what was happening we were loading our things onto the bus. Frank hauled my huge duffle on the bus and I got first pick of bunks. I chose one that was all the way in the back and in the middle so it was easy to climb into. "Just remember to keep your head to the back of the bus or-" Frank began but I cut him off, "I'll end up with a broken neck because my head can slam into the wall when we stop and I will die. There's no need to play overprotective parent Frankie. I'm seventeen and ma and daddy sent me out here to learn about the world a little. If you shield me then I'll never learn a thing." I told him. "Whatever." he said and left me to get settled.
I pulled the curtin back on my bunk and took off my messenger bag, setting it on the bed. I opened it and pulled out a handful of pictures and posters and a roll of tape before I began to wallpaper the walls. I started with the pictures I'd brought which consisted of a few of Frank and I when we were kids, a picture of my parents, a picture of me at my first concert with Gerard, Mikey, Frank and Ray, then a picture of my best friend Candice. I arranged them on the ceiling of my bunk and on the walls I put the posters of the bands I liked like MCR (of course), HIM, Motion City Soundtrack, and Panic At The Disco along with a few drawings I'd done. After the walls were sufficently covered next came the bed. I streched my favorite Pokemon sheets over the matress, my Yu-Gi-Oh blinket over that and the Edward Sissorhands pillow that I'd made. When I was happy with my handiwork I pulled out my guitar and went to the back of the bus. I sat crossed legged, settled the guitar on my lap and began to strum out 'Blue and Yellow' by The Used. "Well you're never gonna find it if you're looking for it won't come your way..." I sang. "You've gotten really good." my head snapped up at the voice. Gerard stood leaning against the doorway into the back room. "Oh, I didn't know that you were there." I said. "Please don't stop. Continue." He said and moved to sit beside me. I finished the song and he clapped, "I think Frankie had better watch his back or his little cousin is going to give him a run for his money." Gerard said. I sighed and sat my guitar down, frustrated. "What's wrong?" Gerard asked. "I'm seventeen Gerard and all of you still treat me like I'm five! I'm not Frank's baby cousin or his little cousin, I'm just his cousin. I mean Merlin's beard I'm taller than him!" I said with a laugh. "I'm sorry Izzy. I really didn't think that you minded that much." Gerard said. "I'm a grown woman why wouldn't I mind?" I replied. "Hey, I was wondering, when did you get that tattoo on your wrist?" he asked. I knew that he was just trying to change the subject but I obliged, "My parents let me get it for my 17th birthday." I said. "Why a star with bat wings?" he asked. I shrugged, "I just drew it one day. The original is hanging in my bunk." I said. "I saw that but I didn't know that you drew it. You're good girl." he said. "Once again I learned from the best." I replied. "Ms. Iero you flatter me." he said. I laughed, "But yeah, I was wondering about it the other night when I put you to bed." he said and my eyes locked on his. "Izzy?" came Frank's voice. I looked up at Frank who was looking where Gerard was holding my hand. I jerked it back, "What's up?" I asked. "I...uh...wanted you to know that you forgot your ipod." he said and held it up. "Oh my god thank you!" I said running over and giving him a quick hug before taking it from his hand and walking to my bunk.
Frank fallowed me, "What was that?" he asked. "Nothing. Gee was checking out my tattoo." I replied. "Are you sure that was it?" and I shook my head, "Frank, there was absolutely nothing going on in there besides the fact that I was fiddliling around with my guitar and he came in. He asked me to play for him so I did. After that he asked about my tat. The end." I said. Frank studied my face for a moment, "Okay. I believe you." he said and walked away. I realized that I had forgotten my guitar in the back of the bus so I went to retreve it. I found Gerard sitting on the couch playing a few notes. I knew that he could play a little but I'd never heard him. "Not bad." I said. "Thanks." he replied and handed me my guitar. "You know if you wanted I could give you a couple of lessons." I said. He shook his head, "Guitar isn't my thing. I sing and draw. I'll leave the guitar to Frankie and Toro." he said. "You sure?" I asked. "Yeah." He replied. I smiled and turned to head back to my bunk. "Iz?" he said. "Yeah Gee?" I asked. "Your singing's good too." he said. "Thanks." I replied and headed to my bunk.
