I live in a world of gray
Always night, never day
Across the land I live
No light does darkness give

Just beneath your land
We hide beneath the sands
We follow your every move
Yet this you can not prove

We are mirrors of yourself
Tales of us upon your shelf
Once you've gone we shall rise
You know that darkness never dies.

Sun can not take us away
Once it's gone we come out to play
Crawling up from off the ground
In the darkness your world drowns

Soon we shall take over all
Across your pages we will scrawl
Our words written years before
In the smoke of past wars

The flames of which have died away
Yet the passion there will always stay
Inside of us it carries on
And from us again it shall spawn

A new generation of preachers here
Focusing now on words unclear
Yet in our minds they rewind
In our souls they are entwined

And here they shall remain
Even through years of strain
For you know we will not let go
Of the words of our past long ago

Yet this future is far from here
And may never even be near
So I will not sit around and wait
For my dream to just debate

For I am happy in the dark
Where in the gray dreams spark
And ideas flow and thoughts are born
and here the truth is always sworn
