Gabe meets the guys of Fall Out Boy for the first time, and things get worse as Pete's hunger grows.

“Wow, I can’t believe you told them I was human,” Gabe said as he tried to fight off the wide, amused smile that was trying to take over his mouth. “Why did you have to tell them I was human?”
Rayne playfully narrowed her eyes at the older vampire. “If you would let me finish my story, maybe you would understand things a little better,” she replied, lifting a brow at him as she gave him a smile.
Gabe grinned as he held up his hands in mock defeat. “Continue, feisty.”
“Thank you… Now, apparently the newly turned vampire, Pete, has a hatred for our kind, going back to when his brother’s lover was killed by one of our kind. Now, the two were extremely close, so to see what the murder did to his brother, it made Pete hate us for Andrew. But, now that he’s turned, his brother chased him out of the house, he has no home now because he was attacked and turned. He’s staying with his friend for now, but as far as anyone else knows he’s either run away or missing. If he shows up somewhere else where people know him, he’ll have to go back home.”
“Why wouldn’t he want to go home?” Gabe questioned as he headed over to his closet, an idea forming in his mind as he absorbed the story. “I thought he was upset he was chased off?”
“His brother is willing to kill him, or at least try to, if he tries to return home,” Rayne answered, her voice lowered as she felt a pang of sympathy for the newly turned vampire.
Gabe shook his head as he began changing out of his clothes, and into an outfit from his secondary closet. “What’s he going to do when his time runs up at his friend’s home?”
“None of the guys know,” Rayne answered. “He has nowhere else he can go, no family that won’t call his parents if he shows up at their home.”
Gabe frowned as he changed his shirt, not missing the fact that Rayne’s eyes roamed over his exposed torso when she had the chance. “Naughty Rayne,” he chuckled as he grabbed the jacket that went over the coat. “So, if he doesn’t trust vampires, how am I supposed to give him the blend and expect him to take it everyday?”
Rayne shook her head as she shrugged. “I don’t know,” she answered. “I haven’t met him yet so I can’t give any suggestions…”
Gabe dusted off a hat before he placed it on his head and turned to his mirror, smiling at the reflection inside. “I might have an idea Rayne…”
“What is it?” She questioned as she fixed the collar for him, after sliding the white collar into place, folding the black fabric down to cover the white. “Father Saporta,” she smiled.
“Ryland, send Sisky to me,” he ordered his medic, and friend. “I need two sets of the ingredients for the blend that keeps us from turning. I need them as soon as possible.”
“Sure thing Gabe, as soon as I have them ready,” replied Ryland, who in his medical study began getting the ingredients together as he called for Adam Siska.
“I’m going to bring two sets of the ingredients with us, when we go to see him and his friends,” Gabe explained as he called for one of his pets. “I’m going to let him pick whichever set he wants to use or himself, and the other I’m going to have one of the vampires, who drink it here, take it in front of him to show that it does work.”
“What if he thinks it’s poison?” Rayne questioned as the door to Gabe’s bedroom opened and the pet he had summoned walked in, smiling at the both of them.
“That’s why I’m letting him pick his. The other will be made, and Emmi here,” he said as he put his arm around her shoulders when she came to stand next to him, “will drink the other after it’s prepared right in front of him.” He looked down at Emmi, who looked up at him when she sensed his eyes on her. “Would you mind being a test subject my dear?”
“Not at all, Master,” she answered.
“Go get dressed then, we’ll be leaving soon,” he softly ordered, spanking her butt as she moved away from him. He smiled when she nudged him and continued out of his room, before he turned his attention to Rayne. “Do you think this will work?”
“The chances are looking a little better,” replied as she leaned against his bed post. “We won’t really know until we get there though, will we?”

Patrick, Andy, and Joe leaned against the hood of the car that belonged to Patrick’s mom, as Pete sat on the trunk, needing his space from his friends, even though it barely worked. His throat burned with his thirst as he tried to focus on the sounds of the night, rather than the three hearts beating so near to him. His whole body was tensed as he focused on trying to sense any vampires, or anything that might seem like a threat.
He wasn’t too happy with the meeting place, an old, broken down warehouse outside of Chicago, off the main road, away from any prying eyes. It was too concealed for if things went wrong. Nowhere safe his friends could run to if things turned sour, or if he lost his control, which was already hanging by a thin thread. He could hear his friends talking quietly amongst themselves, but he wasn’t listening, only catching clips and bits even though he knew he could easily listen to the whole conversation.
His eyes immediately moved to the headlights that had just come out of the tree line that the road disappeared in to when one was headed back to the main roads. His body tensed more as it began to slow and he smelled the three hearts, one keeping a slow, steady thrum, while the other two beat the same as a humans.
Behind him, on the hood of the car, Patrick, Joe, and Andy all turned their heads to look at the car as the engine died and the lights went off. Until they watched Rayne get out of the car, they stayed still, but moved to meet her and her two associates when they all got out of the car. Pete stayed on the trunk, clenching his jaw when he found himself inhaling four human blood scents now.
Rayne turned her attention to the vampire, whose eyes were almost completely black from his hunger, and frowned since she knew the hunger he was dealing with, having dealt with it herself at some point in the beginning of her turning. While his friends moved to speak with Emmi and Gabe, who was hiding his vampire scent from Pete, Rayne moved to Pete, keeping her hands within sight as he turned his attention to her, his upper lip pulling back slightly to expose his fangs. “I don’t want to hurt you,” she said as she stopped a couple of feet away from him and the car.
“You think I’m going to trust you?” he growled, his lip pulling back more as he subconsciously prepared to attack if she came closer. “You’re one of them.”
“Pete, so are you,” she replied as she looked at Gabe, who was watching, ready to defend his friend if need be. “But we’re here to help you.”
“No, you’re here for the fucking price on my head!”
The raise in his voice drew the attention of everyone else, making them look at him to see why his voice was suddenly audible to everyone and not just Rayne. “No, we’re here to hide you away from others looking to collect on that price.”
“Why should I trust you?”
“If we were here to hurt you, or your friends, we would have by now. If there were any doubts you would have stayed away and kept them wherever you were,” Rayne said as she looked to Joe and Andy, and then back to Pete. “If I meant any harm they never would have lived past our first meeting.”
“Unless you kept them alive to get me to come here so you could take me to William Beckett,” he scoffed, not trusting the priest or the two vampire women.
“If I wanted you I would have tracked you through their minds before killing them and coming after you,” Rayne countered, getting a little frustrated with this stubborn male.
Gabe tensed as he looked from Rayne to Pete. “What would William Beckett want with you?” He demanded softly, moving away from the group and over to Pete, who let him near simply because he believed him human. Gabe made a mental note to inform Pete of a vampire’s ability to mask their scent, without giving himself away.
“Shouldn’t you know? You’re here for it.”
“If I was here for a price I would have had either Rayne or Emmi capture you by now,” Gabe replied, frowning more. “Now please, what does William want with you? Why are you special to him?”
“He’s the one that attacked me,” Pete answered, looking to the priest. “I got away from him so he put a price on my head. Whoever catches me is supposed to bring me to him either alive, or dead.”
Gabe looked at Rayne. “Did you know about this?” He questioned.
“If I had know, Father, why wouldn’t I have told you when I brought this case to your attention?” She questioned and turned her gaze on Andy and Joe, who both looked guilty. “Did you know? Why didn’t you tell me?”
“We were trying to look out for him,” Andy answered, suddenly defensive. “If you were a threat, then you could have used us against him.”
“If we had known William had a price on his head then we would have come to help you sooner,” Gabe said, his tone no longer soft, but stern. “William may be a pathetic excuse for a vampire, but somehow he has plenty who are loyal to him. We have to go inside,” Gabe said as he frowned deepened. “This is not a conversation to be had outside anymore.”
“Is it safe in there?” Joe questioned as he looked to the warehouse, which looked like a good strong wind would knock it down.
“If it wasn’t safe, I would never use it as a safe house,” Gabe answered with a smile.
“Why are you willing to help us?” Pete questioned as he jumped down from the trunk of the car and moved to stand with his friends.
Gabe turned a soft smile and kind eyes to Pete. “Because, Pete, not all vampires, or humans, are out to hurt you. If you let us, we can be your friends.”
Rayne playfully narrowed her eyes at the older vampire. “If you would let me finish my story, maybe you would understand things a little better,” she replied, lifting a brow at him as she gave him a smile.
