"Izzy, it's time for breakfast." Frank said coming into my room. I rolled away from the door and
pretended to be asleep. I didn't want to eat, I didn't want to see Frank, and I didn't want to be in
Chicago. What I really wanted I knew I couldn't have. I wanted to be in LA with Gerard, in his arms
instead of being stuck here in Bob's apartment, not being able to sleep. However that was only
my hope, I knew that Gerard didn't want me like I wanted him anymore. He had made that clear
when he told me that I was too young for him. So I was stuck here, without the chance of being
rescued by, I knew it sounded corny, my knight in shining armor.
I heard Frank shut the door and I turned back over to stare at the ceiling. Soon Frank would come in
and leave me a plate of food and leave, returning a short while later to remove the untouched plate.
I wasn't sure who I was mad at yet. I wanted to be pissed at Frank for barging in and ruining my
perfect getaway with Gerard but at the same time I was pissed that Gerard had just told me to go.
Finally I pulled he covers up over my head and went back to sleep.
I wasn't sure how much time had passed but I knew that someone was shaking me awake. I opened my
eyes and saw Bob sitting on my bed. "Bobby? What's going on?" I asked. "I wanted to talk to you." he
said. "About what?" I asked. "About you and Gee." he said. "Oh god did Frank send you in here? That
fucking midget, I'm going to castrate him." I said. "Okay can you not say 'castrate'? I mean it
hurts more than you know. And no, that fucking midget didn't send me in here to talk to you." Bob
said. "Sorry. So what about Gerard and me?" I asked. "I wanted to hear your story. Frank didn't give
you much time to explain and I thought that it was unfair. So I'm going to listen to what you have
to say." he said. "You don't want to hear it." I said. "Yes I do. Now talk or I will have to call
you by your full name and I'm not just talking about Izabell." he said. I sighed, "First off,
threatening me with my full name is a low blow. Anyhow, here it goes." I said.
I told him about the crush I'd had on Gerard since I was 11 and how he'd kissed me on the bus, being
sure to omit how I'd stared at his ass. Then I told him about our first date and then how we never
had alone time so we had made a plan to go to LA. The whole time Bob just sat there and listened and
not said a word. "So is that it?" he asked. "Yeah, that's the whole story. I don't know what I was
thinking though, he doesn't want me now. He thinks I'm too young for him. I'm just Frank's little
cousin to him and that's all I'll ever be." I said and the tears came quickly. Bob wrapped me in a
hug, "Everything will be okay Izzy." He said. "How do you know that?" I asked. "I have a feeling."
he said. I looked up at him, "Really?" I asked. "Yeah. Just call it drummer's intuition." he said
and for the first time in what seemed like a long time I laughed.
After our talk, Bob left me alone and I went back to sleep. I felt better but it wasn't enough yet
to make me want to face the world. When I woke up again I could hear voices from out in the hall. I
got out of the bed and walked over to the door, opening it a crack. It was Frank and Bob talking.
"You didn't see her cry today." Bob said. "Look, I know that she think she loves him but he's too
old for her!" Frank said. "In your eyes they are. Think about it though, Izzy is mature for her
age...with the exception of the drinking incident that is." Bob said. "I know but I don't want her
to get wrapped up in something like that and get hurt." Frank said. "I understand baby but do you
really think that Gerard would hurt Izzy? He's known her for a long time now. He loves her Frankie
and you know that." Bob said. "Your right. I've never seen her like that. She's lifeless." Frank
said. "It doesn't help that she thinks Gerard doesn't love her anymore." Bob replied. "You're right.
I'll talk to her in the morning." Frank said. I didn't need to here anymore. I burst though the
door, "What do you need to talk to me about?" I asked. Frank looked at me surprized, "Uh...sit down
and we'll talk." he said and I took a seat next to him on the couch.
