The roar of the crowd was loud in my ears and my heart was beating in my chest at full force. "You'll be fine." Gee's voice echoed in my ears. "Yeah being a spot light hog runs in the family Cos." Frank had said. I sighed, knowing what was coming as the music died away. I closed my eyes and let my mind wander through the past few weeks. We were back on the bus and the tour. Everything was going good. Gerard and I spent every night together in his bunk. Frank had objected at first but I had reminded him that he slept with his boyfriend every night so it was a double standard if he kept me from Gerard. Ray had been a little miffed that he was the last to know about Gee and I but I made it up to him by letting him beat me at Tekken on his XBOX.
Tonight was the last show on the tour for My Chemical Romance and someone had come up with the genius idea of me coming out for the last song of the night to play. I would play with Frank on one of my favorite songs "How We Disappear". For my premier as an honorary MCR guitarist and Gerard's Girlfriend, Frank had taken me out shopping. First he bought me a new guitar, I told him that it was too much but he'd told me to forget about it and not to expect anything for my birthday. I had picked one out that was black with pink stars on it. To go with the guitar, Frank had bought me a new outfit too. I chose to go with the colors of my new guitar and picked out a pair of new black drainpipes jeans with hot pink stitching, a pink plaid blouse with puffy three quarter sleeves, and a pair of new pink converse high tops.
Now I was standing here backstage fully dressed with my eyes done up with midnight black eyeliner and bright pink shadow and a pair of skull earrings that Gee had given me waiting for the moment I would be on stage. Gerard's voice echoed over the sound system, "Some of you have seen the recent press showing me with an unknown girl. Well tonight I would like to introduce you to that girl. She is in fact the cousin of our very own Frankie Iero and my girlfriend, please welcome Izzy Iero." He called and with a deep breath I ran out onto the stage with my guitar on my back. The crowd roared with excitement as I walked on stage. Gee put his arm around me and kissed me lightly on the lips making the crowd crescendo with glee. "You going to be okay?" he whispered in my ear. I nodded and headed over to Frankie who hugged me. I plugged in and we started the song.
The feeling of playing in front of everyone made the adrenalin run through my veins. I played harder than I ever had, the notes coming like they were nothing. I jumped around with Frank and laughed the entire time. In the middle of the song Frank smiled at me and took his hands off his guitar leaving me to play alone. I thought the feeling couldn't get any better but it did.
The song ended too quickly and before I knew what had happened I was backstage again, my face flushed and my mind racing. "Izzy you were amazing!" Mikey said and picked me up and swung me around. "It felt amazing!" I said then I turned to Frank and pushed his shoulder, "Why didn't you tell me that you were going to cut out?" I asked. "I wasn't planning to but you seemed so into it that it seemed like a good thing to do. You made me proud baby cousin." he said and hugged me. "Yeah, it looks like she's giving you a run for your money Frankie." Ray said. "Nah, I'll leave the rock star stuff to you guys. I'm content to watch backstage." I said. "Are you sure?" Gee asked. "Yeah." I replied. Gerard kissed me, "I love you." he said. "I love you too." I replied and together we walked back to the bus hand in hand.
