This is the second story in the "Soulmates" series. Im still looking for ideas for Ray and Bob's romances so if you have any suggestions please feel free to suggest some. Thanx and enjoy!
My breath came out in puffs; I pulled my hoodie up tighter around me and turned my back to the frigid wind. My soon-to-be-ex-best-friend Tori stood behind me chatting up a guy who looked like he'd stolen not only his sister's eyeliner but her pants too. She flipped her bright blond and pink hair before flashing her 'I’m single, come get me' smile. How could she not be cold? Oh yeah I forgot, it was here fault we were here. Tori was a gigantic My Chemical Romance fan and tonight they were having a concert. I however had absolutely no interest in them whatsoever. They weren't my least favorite band (that spot was reserved for Death Cab For Cutie) but they weren't my most favorite (HIM) either.
It started when we were in seventh grade when Tori's older brother Travis took her to a small show of theirs where they were playing with his friend's band. She'd heard one song and was gone. It had become worse when they'd become regulars on MTV the summer between 8th and 9th grade. So here we were over four years later waiting in line. So you're wondering, if I don't like that band then why was I here right? Well if you'd been best friends with someone since kindergarten and the only way that they could go to see their favorite band was if you went with them you'd go right? "Come on Holly smile, you're not dead!" Tori said in a sing-song voice. I rolled my eyes, "its cold as balls out here! How on god's green earth are you not cold?" I asked. Tori just shrugged, "Pre-concert high? Come on, get in the mood. We're going to see My Chemical Fucking Romance! How can YOU be so grumpy?" Tori said. I opened my mouth to reply but the line began to move and Tori began to vibrate next to me singing her fave MCR song, "The blue ones make me fly and the red ones help me fall...". Thankfully we were inside the warm arena few minutes later.
I unzipped my jacked and tied it snuggly around my waist. After having to argue with the rent-a-cop at the security table that the chains on my skirt didn't come off, we went inside. We were able to get a spot up front which was like winning the lottery for her. Eventually the band came on with a slow 'beep beep' and the pandemonium began. Girl's screamed, guys bellowed, and my ears exploded. I managed to ignore the music and sink into the energy that was created by the simi-moshing crowd. Thankfully it didn't seem to last so long and after fighting our way out we made it outside and began the three block walk to Tori's car. "That was amazing!" Tori yelled into the night as she danced down the sidewalk. I rolled my eyes and began to look through my purse for her keys. Tori couldn't be trusted with anything, she always lost something. "Hey, didn't we park on the other side of the street?" I asked. "Yeah, I think so." She replied. We looked both ways, Tori crossed first and I fallowed still trying to fish her keys from the bottom of my bag. That's when I heard the sound of an engine roaring toward me. I looked up and saw a black car coming right at me. My purse fell from my hands and I froze in the headlights. The sound of tires screeching filled the air and the car stopped inches from my shins. I heard Tori yell my name and I fell into darkness and someone's arms.
I opened my eyes and saw Tori kneeling over me, her hair a curtain around my face. "Are you okay?" Tori asked. That's when the fog that had covered my brain from fainting now parted and was replaced by pure seething rage. "AM I OKAY???? NO! I'M NOT O-FUCKING-KAY!" I yelled. "Look I'm really sorry." came a voice and I turned to see a guy standing by Tori wearing tight jeans and a hoodie, his hair hanging in his gorgeous eyes. "You’re sorry!?! You could've killed me you idiot! Why in hell were you driving so fast? You’re in the city, NO ONE DRIVES THAT FAST!" I yelled. "Holly! Do you realize who that is?" Tori asked. "He's the guy that almost killed your best friend! And-Oh my god! YOU RAN OVER MY IPOD!" I yelled and grabbed the broken and mangled device from the ground. "Holly will you forget your damn ipod? That's Frank Iero! You know the guy with all the tattoos that plays guitar in My Chemical Romance?" Tori said. "Who cares? He killed my ipod! It could've been me!" I yelled. "I'm really sorry about your ipod; if you want I’ll replace it. And how about I give you a ride to wherever it was that you were headed?" Frank said. I turned to open my mouth but Tori clamped a fingerless skeleton gloved over my mouth. "You don't have to replace the ipod but a ride would be nice, I we parked a long way away." Tori said. I tried to break her grasp but for a 110lb girl Tori had quite a grip. "Great!" Frank said and after quickly picking up my purse and the things that had spilled out I got in the car. It was a short drive to the car after which we climbed out. "Thanks." Tori said. "No problem. And Holly? I am sorry." Frank said. I rolled my eyes and got in the car, being sure to show my dislike for the situation by slamming my door. "Oh one more thing, you're beautiful no matter what but you'd be much prettier if you smiled." he said and I felt myself blush as he drove off.
