I woke up to the sound of the doorbell ringing intently. I moaned and managed to drag myself from the bed. The drive from New York back home to New Jersey had seemed to take forever. I felt like something out of Resident Evil. "I'm coming!" I called as I shuffled downstairs to answer the door. "Delivery." the guy said when I opened the door and pushed a vase full of roses and a package at me. After signing the slip, I shut the door and sat the roses on the hall table. There wasn't any card so I opened the package. Inside was my wallet, an ipod and a letter. It read:
Dear Holly,
I cannot express how truly sorry I am about last night. I found your wallet in the back of my car and decided to send it to you. As you'll also find, I got you a new ipod. I didn't load it since I'm not sure what you like but from what your friend Tori, is that right?, told me that you aren't a fan of us. Anyhow I hope to make it up to you. I'll pick you up at three for our date see you then.
Frank Iero

I looked down at the ipod in my hands; it was black with pink headphones just like the one that had been crushed the night before. I checked my wallet, all $50.00 of what was in there was intact. I shook my head and re-read the note again. He was picking me up at 3? How did he know that I'd even go out with him? Hadn't I made it clear that I didn't like him last night after he nearly ran me down? I mean you'd think that yelling at a guy at the top of your lungs would get your point across. After gathering the note, ipod and my wallet I headed upstairs to call Tori.

“Frank Iero wants to go out with you?!?” Tori screeched into the phone. “Yeah, it's news to me too.” I replied. “So read me the note again.” she said from the other end of the line. I read it to her again and heard her sigh, “What?” I asked. “He knows you aren't a fan of his. That might be a problem in your relationship.” she replied. “First off you're the one who told him that I didn't like My Chemical Romance. Second, what relationship? I don't even like the guy! He's not even that cute.” and she snorted. “What was that supposed to mean?” I asked. “Nothing, nothing at all.” Tori said but by the strain in her voice I knew she was lying. “Victoria Prudence McKinley tell me. Now.” I said and the snickering stopped, she hated her middle name. “Okay you ever use the 'P' word again you will never live to be legal.” Tori said. “Then tell me what you're thinking.” I said. “You know he's cute. Despite the fact it was dark I saw you blush last night when he said you were pretty.” she replied. “Fine, he's cute. I'm not going out with him though.” I told her. “Why not? I mean c'mon Holly. When was the last time you had a date? You know you want to.” Tori weededled. It had been a long time since I'd gone out with anyone, almost a year. “Fine, but I'm not going to like it. Now I need to go, I have nothing to wear and he's going to be here in an hour and a half.” I said. “Leave it to me.” Tori said and the line went dead.

Fifteen minutes later a breathless and pj clad Tori burst through my front door. “Come on, we need to get you ready.” She said. I was leaning against the kitchen counter eating a bowl of Lucky Charms, “Okay let me finish my cereal.” I replied. Tori let out a exasperated sigh and pried the bowl from my hands and tossed it into the sink, “They may be magically delicious but they aren't going to get you ready for this date. Leave that to your fairy godmother.” she smiled and pushed me up to my room. She tossed the big canvas tote bag she'd had slung over shoulder onto my bed and ran into my bathroom where she apparently started my water. “Okay, you get a shower while I pick out your outfit.” Tori instructed. “Use this shampoo, it has honey in it and it'll make your hair shine. Then use this conditioner, it has natural oils in it that will keep your hair from frizzing like it did on photo day in 6th grade.” she said and shoved the bottles at me. I knew it was best not to fight her so I headed into the bathroom to get my shower.

After my shower I came back into my bedroom only to find that it looked like my closet had exploded. “Oh my god! What did you do?” I asked Tori who was examining a pair of Tripp pants that I hadn't worn since sophomore year. “Oh, I was raiding your closet. You still have these? I thought you tossed them a long time ago.” she said. I snatched them from her, “Don't pick on my Tripp pants, they hold good memories. So is destroying my room and criticizing my wardrobe all you've done?” I asked. “No, I found you an outfit too.” Tori smiled and pointed to my vanity chair where she'd laid an outfit for me. It consisted of a pink plaid skirt, a fitted black button up shirt with a collar and cap sleeves, a pair of white knee socks, and my favorite pair of clunky Mary Jane’s. “Now, put these on and get back out here so I can do your makeup.” she said and shoved a bra and panties at me both of which were black with pink pin stripes. “Where'd you get these? They aren't mine.” I said. “Actually they are. I saw them a few weeks ago at Hot Topic. They were the last ones and they were in your size so I got them for you, they were supposed to be your Christmas present but this seemed more important.” Tori said. "Tori, I don't think he's going to be seeing my underwear." I said. "On this date. Now go." Tori replied and once again I was pushed into the bathroom.

“Okay and you...are...done!” Tori said and with that snapped the eye shadow closed. I looked in the mirror. My raven #152 dyed hair had been combed and flat ironed so it lay silky and smooth around my shoulders, not a bit of frizz in sight. Tori had applied my usual thick coat of eyeliner but had flared it out slightly so it went slightly passed the outer corners of my eyes. With bright pink eye shadow on my lids and a clear gloss over my lips I was ready to go. It was just in time too because no sooner had I stood from the chair then the front door rang. “That's him!” Tori said peering out the window. I took a deep breath and went downstairs to meet Frank Iero.
