As If Nothing Had Happened

Gerard's Point of View
We landed in Jersey, nothing seeming very different than before. Belleview seemed just as normal, if not better than we had left it.
Kids were running around giggling, no parents were worried about who was out. There were two lovers swinging on the swing set, talking and sharing an ice cream. It looked like a normal suburban town. I gave Mikey and Frank a confused look. Both of them shrugged.
"Everyone was nearly dead when we left. Don't ask us," Mikey said as a ball landed near his foot and a small girl ran up to Mikey.
"Hello mister," she smiled sweetly. Mikey couldn't help but smile and kneeled down so he was about her height.
"He there sweetie, what's your name?"
"Alexandra." She giggled. I swore, if our hearts were beating, they would've stopped. I wondered what had happen. Part of me wondered if that was our sister. Crazier things have happened.
"Is that so?" Mikey asked, the smile still played on his face. It didn't seem to affect him.
"Yes sir!" She giggled. "Your Mikey, aren't you?" She smiled. Mikey nodded.
"You look like a Mikey." She grabbed her ball with her tubby fingers and hugged Mikey, running away to join her friends.
"It wasn't just me, was it?" I turned to Frank, he shook his head, a tear running down his cheek.
"You don't think that -"
"Only one way to find out," said Mikey.
...
We walked to our old house. The door was already opened. I slowly opened it and jumped when a youthful looking teenage girl jumped out and threw her arms around me.
I gasped and began laughing. I lifted her off the ground and swung her all around the air. I gently put her on the ground and looked at her.
My beautiful sister, she looked so different. Younger than she was when I left her. She was wearing a red dress that was stunning. A necklace that had several rubies in it, and what made me gasp - a crown.
"What is all this?" I asked, turning her around to see her completely. She giggled and turned back to me.
"You like? I got everyone threw the "plague", as they called it, actually made the town better. After I finished everything on my own, they declared me their queen. They don't need me though, only if something goes wrong, is when they would need me again."
"I can't believe that you're my baby sister. How old are you now, twenty? Twenty-five?" She laughed and shook her head.
"Seventeen, but thank you." She kissed my cheek and she turned to give Mikey and Frank a big hug.
"I missed you guys so much."
"That explains why you never answered our calls." Mikey mumbled. She scolded him and sighed.
"Do you see this town?" She moved her arms all around her. "You try the time to make calls to family."
"Family." Mikey emphasized. She rolled her eyes and turned to Frank.
"Hey, Frank." She said weakly.
"Hi Alex," Frank mumbled. Their was a long pause of silence when Frank and Alex spoke at the same time. Alex laughed.
"You go first."
"I'm really sorry about all this. I know you liked me and I really liked you too, it's just that -"
"You loved Gerard more, I totally get it Frank. It's been, what, a year. Honestly, every thing's fine."
They smiled at each other, just looking into each other's eyes. I wondered if they were talking to each other with thoughts. I didn't want to eavesdrop, so I decided to stay out of their minds.
We walked inside the house, as if nothing had happened. As if the plague didn't happen.
As if everything was just - normal.
