To Gaara, his brother and sister were pretty cool. They both were always busy working, dating, or with their society life. They didn't bother him much, but from time to time Kankuro would talk to his little brother whenever he had the chance to. Gaara really enjoyed talking to his older brother. They had talked about a lot of things to the point where Gaara had told him about Sasuke. It wasn't anything emotional, but Gaara couldn't help but to express the way he had felt.
Two months had pasted and it has been the same damn thing. That odd and nervous feeling and worst of all Sasuke wasn't making it any better. Sometimes Gaara would wonder if love was even there from the beginning or was it him just being horny. He felt as though he was being used for sexual entertainment. Gaara would always find himself some place where he's not suppose to be, pushed against something, and being touched by his boyfriend, it was just touching. He liked it a lot, but he knew there has got to be something more than that. Right?
"Don't you see the problem?" Gaara asked his good friend Tenten as he closed his locker. His eyes would hurt sometimes whenever Tenten wore the brightest color in the crayon box, yellow.
Tenten shrugged her shoulders, "You chose him." Tenten was just so busy with Neji, it was unlike of her to not pay attention to Gaara's needs. He made a face at her as he watched her walk off with Neji.
Gaara turned his head to find a tall boy leaning against the window seal with a huge video recorder by his foot resting the floor. He was staring at Tenten. The bell had rung and that didn't even stop him from staring. From time to time his thick eyebrows would frown.
Gaara thought a bit and decided go see what was wrong with the genius of hard work.
"Hey!" Gaara said loud enough to cause Lee to jump up a bit. "You like her?" Gaara asked him as he moved his bangs out of his face.
Lee's face heated up as red as Gaara's hair.
"Yeah...what's your point?"
"I don't like Neji." Gaara stated. Lee just looked down at Gaara. "I'm going to help you win her because I think she deserves someone better." Gaara said with a smile on his face. Lee wasn't so sure about it, but he had agreed with it anyway. Who else to go to for help other than her best friend?
Everyday Gaara and Lee would meet up and have a lovely chat about Tenten. Each time they had met Gaara would try to push Lee to talk to her. One day Tenten told Gaara about Lee.
"He keeps on bothering me and I keep telling him. I'm with someone else. Damn what the hell! What nerve!" Tenten had said angrily before walking off. Gaara didn't say anything. He just smiled. Even though Gaara was helping out a friend he was missing valuable time with his boyfriend, Sasuke. Sasuke didn't really like it not one bit.
"Why not?" Sasuke had asked with a frown on his face.
"Because I have to help somebody..." Gaara answered as he picked up his book bag.
Sasuke grunted, "Why can't he just go find someone else?"
Gaara told him to shut up and Sasuke gave him the puppy dog face.
"Anyway we need to talk young man." Gaara said.
"Is this about my report card?" Sasuke had asked with a serious look on his face as he followed Gaara down the hallway. Gaara got a disgusted look on his face.
"This is why we aren't on the same page. You play too fuckin' much. Damn, you're worse than Naruto at times."
Sasuke blinked, "What the hell is your problem?"
Gaara's invisible eyebrows frowned, "Goodbye Sasuke."
"Are you serious?" Sasuke said as he watched Gaara walk off. "It was just a joke!"
A month later Gaara had found out about his mother being in the hospital and Aeri no where to be found. Tsunade had never told Gaara about his mother coming over to her office. Serenity had swore not to tell Gaara about their little conversation. They both knew Gaara wasn't going to agree. He went to visit her and she was still beautiful. The doctors didn't know what was wrong with her. Gaara knew. She was just a troubled lady who was always worried about everything, but not herself. During the visit, she told stories about his father's parents and Temari. She even told him who put the demon in him. Gaara listened closely as his mother talked. Her voice was weak and dying out. She explained for years how she had pieced the pieces to fix the puzzled. The Elder Sand Siblings of Suna had something to do with. As they were close to his father, well Lady Chio was. It was her job to place the demon in a human as its host. His father wanted a weapon and if sacrificing his youngest son was to get it then so be it.
"I was too late to realize what was going on. The third child, you, wasn't just a romantic plan. It was a plan over power and dominance. He thought after I had you, I would die either the day of the birth or the next day, but as you can see that didn't happen. Your father fooled us all. Then later on, he was killed." Serenity said as she squeezed her son's hand. "Your brother and sister won't come see me because they're afraid like me. They're afraid of what the past has done to the present. But you, I don't sense that. I hate to say it, but your father was right. That morning when the doctor told us you were a boy. Your father kept telling me there's something special about you. Even to this day I think he was referring to the plan he had, but he was right." Gaara was about to say something, but his mother forced on to his knees. He looked at her face to face.
"I want you to know something." She said in a whisper. "I'm not supposed to tell you, but you need to know. You're leaving in a month to Suna." Gaara's face muscles had tightened. He didn't want to go back. "Listen, you're going to take your father's thrown in being Kazekage. I know you don't want to, but it runs in the family. You don't have a choice I'm afraid."
"Mom, no. I'm not doing it. They can find someone else. I can't just leave; I'll have to start a new life over...without you."
"Gaara, don't say no. Don't say anything. Just do it. You'll find out about a lot of things you didn't know about yourself." Serenity said as she looked at her son.
"Mom, I'm sorry." Gaara said as he stared at his hands.
"It's alright." She was too weak to put her arms around her son for a hug.
"I'll do it for you and only for you." Gaara said as he stepped back and angrily wiped his eyes with his entire arm like a child. The tears were blocking his vision.
"Do it for yourself." Serenity said. "I would cry too, but I'm all dried up." She stated dryly. Gaara smiled and so did his mother. he sat back in the chair that was next to the window and looked at his reflection in the glass stained window. His eyes were a bit red while his cheeks and eyes were puffy. He reminded himself that Sasuke had asked him out on a date.
The nurse was the one to break up the visit. It was seven pm and his mother needed sleep. He kissed his mother's forehead goodbye before leaving. He was fearful of loosing his mother after he left.
His date with Sasuke wasn't like the first. It was gloomy and fuckin' raining. Gaara was pissed off and a tad sad. None of his kisses, jokes, or hugs would make Gaara feel less on the verge of committing suicide.
"Do you want to talk it?" Sasuke had asked as he looked at Gaara.
Gaara stared at his hands and tension began to build up. "I'm sorry. I gotta go." Gaara said quickly as he got up out of his chair.
"Gaara...wait." Sasuke said, but Gaara was already out the door.
That night Gaara didn't want to go home to Temari and Kankuro. They had probably expected him to be out with Sasuke past 9. They were far from being like real parents or something like his mother. She would of been worried like always, but that was her way of saying and showing that she cares. Gaara sat in the tall grass and watched moon's white reflection drift in the blue river. He wondered what it would be like to run Suna. Would it be any different of what the life he has in Kohana?
Why aren't I proud to be next in line? Gaara thought. He sensed a presence behind him, it was Lee. Gaara had forgot that Tenten had actually let Lee take her on a date. From the way Lee's face looked, it didn't go so well.
"How was it?" Gaara had asked as Lee sat next to him.
Lee shook his head and then chuckled. "I don't get it." Lee finally said.
Gaara just looked at him.
A few hours ago before school was done and the students of Kohana were released. Lee had begged Tenten to let him take her out on a date. Tenten gave in after to being annoyed to death.
"Impress me tonight." She said. "And I'll think about us."
Around the same time Gaara had went on a date with Sasuke. Lee went out with Tenten. He was a gentleman to Tenten and represented her with a ring. It was her favorite color yellow. She smelled the yellow marigolds and fumbled with her yellow short spring dress."They smell delightful, thank you Lee and the ring is perfect." She smiled, but then the smile had faded. She felt the presence of Neji.
Before Neji could speak Lee stood up. Lee didn't want to grab the attention from any of the strangers that were sitting at different tables, but he did anyway.
"Look." Lee said as he pointed to Neji's breast pocket. It held a vibrant red rose in it. "Her favorite color is yellow and she likes marigolds. She's also allergic to roses." He stated. Tenten looked down at the marigolds and then at Neji. Boy was his face was tight and heated.
"Tenten's a very pretty lady and should be treated like one always. I didn't mean any harm if I did." Lee had apologized as he walked passed Tenten. Tenten pushed her long brown hair behind her ear. She wanted Lee to stop and stay, but she knew Lee would feel to guilty to stay.
"I'm sorry, Lee. I shouldn't of pushed you." Gaara said as he let his bangs block his vision.
Lee looked at Gaara. "Don't worry about it. It was nice while it lasted. I needed the push anyway."
Gaara just felt like crying. No matter how many times people say it's ok. He always felt as though it was his fault. Gaara sniffed. He didn't want to go. He wanted to stay. Did he have a choice?
Lee could tell Gaara was about to crack. For what reason, he didn't know why.
Gaara felt an arm around his shoulders that forced his head to lay on Lee's chest as Lee laid back on the tall green grass. He cried on Lee's shirt. Shukuka wanted his host to kill someone, but Gaara was able to oppose because the feeling felt nice. It felt nice to be close to Lee. Lee was just being a good friend maybe too much of a good friend. The noises of Gaara sobbing and fussing had soon died. Lee looked down to find two large aquamarine eyes staring at him. Gaara extended his neck and lifted up his chin to get a taste of Lee's lips. Gaara liked the warmth of Lee's lips. It had sent down a fuzzy feeling to his stomach. It was a short kiss, but he enjoyed it.
What about Sasuke! Lee may not have someone, but it doesn't look like Sasuke is ready to let of go Gaara. It made Gaara sick to his stomach. He couldn't tell if he still have feelings for Sasuke or not.
Gaara popped up with a not-so-sure look on his face as his hand held his stomach.
Lee scratched the back of his head as he too sat up. Lee smiled as his bandaged hands moved some of Gaara's hair out of his face. Gaara looked back, but he didn't know what to do. He shook his head wildly out of Lee's grip.
"I'm sorry!" Gaara yelled as he ran off, so far nothing wasn't making any sense; going back to his mother wasn't going to help. Gaara didn't run very far from the park. He was five blocks away from home. He felt dizzy and puked on the sidewalk.
Lee was just clueless.

Ideas Would Be To Gaara, his brother and sister were pretty cool.
