Where the Fuck is BOB?
(#) Mychemicalromance073 2010-04-10
That is exactly what I thought. I'm not sure where you are from but, I'm from Australia. Melbourne actually., and we have this big festival called soundwave., my chemical romance was supposed to be in it and they were doing a sideshow in Sydney that I had bought tickets for AND plane tickets to fly over to Sydney and they cancelled 2 fucking weeks before it because apparently "gerard had a throat problem" and then a WEEK after that I hear the bob left the band I was actually like whatthefuckingshi they can't do that to their LOYAL fans that would give up anything for them it's selfish and unfair., PLUS I didn't even get my money back on my plane tickets or concert tickets. -_- I love them but I don't evn know what they are thinking anymore.Where the Fuck is BOB?

Wow... I consider myself a HUGE MCR fan, I have all the albums (duh), every magazine, every everything (I just spent $30 on Frank's photo from mychemicalromance.com just because he signed it...)
but seriously, they are real people. They have lives. It is not their responsibility to do anything other than whatever makes them happy. And I'm sure being married/having children/etc makes them happier than you obviously know.
I'm not trying to say I want the band to stop or break up, I am on the edge of my seat waiting for the new album and I will be first in line to buy it.
But they don't owe us anything at all. If they don't want to tell us what happened with Bob, they don't have to. If they want to stop making music to raise their families, they can.
I think people forget that they are just normal people like the rest of us.Where the Fuck is BOB?

I had the same problem as you Mychmeicalromance073 but i got a refund on my tickets just not my flight...
I thought it was so suss to, that they blamed Gerards throat only to then a few weeks later say Bob left...
Wheres the honesty??Where the Fuck is BOB?

One thing I'm certain of is they totally lied about Gerard having "throat problems" when it's pretty obvious Bob had already left the band by then. The throat thing was definitely a cover up, which is just disappointing.
They go on about how much their fans mean to them but can't even tell us why he left? We buy the albums, the tickets to their concerts so we have a right to know why he left, right?
One last thing, their video for Desolation Row was great and all, but for some reason I felt like their image in the vid was kinda manufactured. I hope they're not getting all commercial on us.
I'm still a fan of them, just not a fanatic.Where the Fuck is BOB?

Just remember that they're people. People are allowed to make mistakes. Their album is coming out, just BE PATIENT. And the "Gerard's vocal problems" probably WAS a cover-up, but maybe they used that because Bob was gone indefinitely. They can't announce that he's out of the band if they're not sure, can they? No.
Don't get pissy at them for making mistakes.Author's response
Listen, I'm not getting pissy.
It's not a mistake. I'm just saying that I wish they would tell us straight. I'm saying that I want them to be straight, and tell us EVERYTHING at ONCE. We don't know what actually goes on, we need some facts, not rumors.Where the Fuck is BOB?

Don't get me wrong, I love the band, but they know how to work the media and part of that is to play down problems that they have control over. I think this is a classic example of them doing just that. It's not a good thing for the fans, but it stops a lot of bad publicity that would probably do them more harm than saying nothing. Maybe? Personally, I think a little more information wouldn't hurt them and their fans would appreciate it. I know I would. Bob is an amazing drummer and was critical to their sound on Black Parade. I don't see them being the same without him.
I agree with the comment that they don't owe us anything, they already give enough. But it's a matter of mutual respect and I think they risk losing a lot of fans over Bob leaving with no explanation.
It all seems to have been very carefully handled but maybe not in the best way. When compared to the open and, at least, possibly honest statements issued when Panic split, it just feels unnecessarily secretive.
But, then, different people handle things in different ways and I doubt there's a particularly good way of handling this sort of thing - whichever way they go they'll be criticised by someone (press, fans, music industry etc)
I just hope whatever has happened, they're all okay and it'll work out the best for all of them.Where the Fuck is BOB?

Watch behind the scenes of Desolation Row... the entire video is made for Watchman, so everything from the hair to clothes, everything was done to reflect Watchman comics and the time period (80s) etc. That had nothing to do with them becoming commercial. I honestly don't think they would sell out.
But they are my fav band and I hate to say this, but enjoy the album kids. I think it may be the last :(Where the Fuck is BOB?

It's weird, when they announced Bob had left I just assumed it had been something to do with his wrist troubles, I never even considered that they'd argued until I read all the rumours. If they did argue I can't imagine what about, but if it was something bad enough to have Bob leave then I guess it's obvious then that it's something they don't want everyone to know. Even if they were vague and said he'd left because of an argument all the fans would still be angry because they didn't say what the argument was about.
I just hope they'll give the whole story one day, when its all calmed down again. And I pray that this won't be the last album, but then again, I'd rather have them make one more album and leave pretty much the same band we all loved than doing a Guns N' Roses and just breaking apart completely but still trying to carry on, cos' it just wont work.
I havent lost faith in them yet, and I'm determined to believe that they're still the band I love until the bitter end. If I'm wrong, then on my head be it.
