Chapter Six:
"Oh no! Please don't cry! Did you get hurt when I bumped into you?" Lucy said, she seemed generally concerned.
I shook my head, making my tears fall down and land on my DM's.
"I-I have to go... Sorry"
Again I wiped up my face and then quickly ran away. Leaving poor old Lucy concerned and confused.
"Tuesday!"
I sharply turned around to see Jamie running up to me, waving her hands in the air so that I could pick her out of the crowd of busy students.
"You can't catch the. Bus. Home" She said out of breath from the running.
"I'm fine"
Jamie grinned cheekily and pulled some keys out of her pocket.
"I stole them from Frank when I pulled him back from you."
I couldn't help but crack a smile. Jamie nodded her head pleased that she made me smile and linked arms with me, leading me over to the car park.
"Now where did Frankie park it?" She said as she help her hand up above her eyes to block out the sun.
I stood next to her, sniffling and wiping my eyes constantly. Jamie soon spotted the car and dragged me over to it. Sitting me down in the front passenger seat and then walking round to the drivers side and getting in. She started the car and turned to me.
"I know about Darren" She said.
She knew that this conversation would hurt me, but we needed to have it.
"It must be hard. Y'know, losing your boyfriend."
I spluttered and wiped my nose on my sleeve.
Darren was my long term boyfriend. We had been dating for two years and a half. We did everything together and never ever fought. Ever.
"You must have really loved him, huh?"
I nodded my head, trying to catch my breath as I spluttered and stifled some more.
"Do they know..."
"I don't know." I managed to say.
I knew she was going to ask the question that I have been trying to dodge all this time.
"I won't tell any of the other guys. They're new and they haven't heard it yet, but I would tell them before they start to hear the rumors if I were you"
I nodded my head again and turned to look out the window. I wasn't willing to talk any more. Jamie caught on and started to drive the car.
Five months. Five months I had been dealing with this alone. Brooke never mentioned it. Brooke didn't even seem to care. Once he was gone she never spoke of him again. When I would bring it up she would only look at me and walk away. She would avoid me when I was crying. When I would look at a picture of him.
Alcohol became my way to escape it all. I started to drink heavily every night. Me and Brooke became close again in the next two months, but I couldn't stop the drinking.
"There we go" Jamie said, she reached out to me and shock me a little.
"Thanks." I said looking down at the books in my lap.
"Frank will come and pick you up tomorrow morning. Okay?"
I nodded my head and got out the car. My Dad was going to be so angry with me when he finds out that I have been missing school again.
I opened the big green door and locked it behind me like I always did.
"Brooke?!" I called out, but with no reply.
I made my way upstairs. I stopped as I found a large spot of red on the floor. I stepped back slowly, covering my mouth with my hand.
"Brooke!" I whimpered and fell down to the floor.
I had seen this before. I knew what this meant.
"WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU?!" I screamed out, hoping they'd still be here to end my pain.
After a long moment of gathering myself back together I pulled out my phone and called Gerard.
The phone picked up.
"GEE! GEE!"
"What is it Tuesday?" Gerard sounded worried.
"Get over here now! Please!"
"Oh my god whats happened?"
"Please!"
My phone cut out and through it in anger at the wall in front of me. Gerard didn't know where I lived. I crawled closer to the red liquid on the floor and let out a loud scream.
It was blood.
I jumped up and ran down the stairs, tripping and hitting my limbs on the objects I passed. I collapsed by the home phone and picked it up, crawling underneath the kitchen table.
I typed in my Dads number. He didn't pick up.
I burst out crying, crawling up into a ball and hitting my fists down on the floor.
"WHY?!" I screamed into my legs.
"WHY?!!!"
I don't know how long passed but I soon heard the front door open. I froze and looked up from my position on the floor.
"Tues?"
"GEE!" I screamed, running out from under the table, hitting my back as I did. I ran into his arms and cried.
"What the fuck has happened."
"There's blood upstairs!"
Gerard help me tighter and shushed me.
"You were at school l-l-last year when I was! You must have- ha-haa. Like-Las.."
"Shh..." Gerard said, stroking my hair.
"Come on..." He said, taking my hand.
I followed him up the stairs, there was no way I was going to let him go up there alone.
We made our way up the hall way, past the spot of blood and to Brooke's room. Gerard slowly opened the door. I jumped back as I saw Brooke laying on her front over the bed spread. Her back sliced deeply seven times all the way down. Her clothes were torn off and thrown on the floor. The amount of blood. God the amount of blood! I covered my eyes and I saw her head was missing. My whole body began to shake.
"Fuck! We need to get out of here!" Gerard said, grabbing hold of my hand and pulling me back. I screamed and cried at the sight of my best friend. Dead.
"Gerard?! Are you up there?"
I jumped as I heard another familiar voice.
"Frank don't come up here! Call a ambulance and the police!!"
Gerard scooped me up, carrying me downstairs. Frank stood in shock at the sight of me. Wanting to know what happened.
"Someones been killed" Gerard said quietly, but not quiet enough to stop me from hearing.
I let out a deep cry and hit my fists against Gerard's chest.
"Shit!" Frank said, grabbing the phone that was tucked in his pocket.
"Yes, Yes. Police? There's been a murder. For fuck sake come here quick."
