Chapter Five: Revelations
It was a week later when Ginny landed, quickly moving away from the fireplace, her eyes searching for Harry but only seeing Remus. “Hello, Professor Lupin. It’s good to see you again.”
The first full moon was approaching and as arranged, Ginny was moving into Grimmauld place to begin lessons with Remus on werewolf culture and werewolf anatomy. One thing for sure that Ginny was both looking forward to and dreading was meeting Harry.
The werewolf gave a laugh. “It’s Remus, Ginny. I’m sorry we had to meet under these circumstances but it’s good to see you so upbeat. How are you doing since you’ve left Hogwarts?”
“Fine. I’ve been meaning to talk to Harry.” She gave a small smile, seeing Ron came out in a billow of ash.
“Bloody floo.” He mumbled, trying to brush off the ashes but without success. “Hello, Remus!”
With a flick of his wand, Remus cleaned Ron before giving him a hug. “Nice to see you too, Ron. You’re growing taller.”
“Been eating like a dragon, too.” Arthur answered, coming out of the fireplace just in time to hear Remus’ last comment. “Good morning.” Molly followed, greeting the former professor as she flicked her wand over herself and her children.
“Where’s Harry?” Ron asked, noticing that his best mate was missing. “Is he still-”
“I’m afraid so, Ron. He doesn’t come down from his room, choosing to stay the whole time up there. The last time we tried to talk to him, he blew up and threw Sirius out of his room. Literally.” Remus shook his head. “We’ve been worrying about him about eating. Most of the time, he’s eaten only a very small portion.”
“Shall we get ourselves sorted out first?” Molly stated, seeing the crestfallen look on her daughter’s face. “Where is Sirius?”
“He’s at Hogwarts, talking with Albus about the new changes in the laws Amelia is changing.” Lupin led them up the stairs. “Amelia is listening to the public and is changing specific laws to help the Wizarding world along. I’ve heard the Azkaban is now tighter than ever before with the Goblins now in charge of it. Kingsley told me that they actually put bracelets on the prisoners’ wrists and if they leave the boundary, they die.”
“Can’t Voldemort get inside the wards?” Ron asked.
“Goblin wards are so much different than wards made by wizards. They keep the knowledge of such things to themselves. Voldemort will be very hard pressed to break through them unless he has the right knowledge, if he can. Also, there have been changes to the layout of the prison itself that the Goblins are not confessing.”
The Weasleys looked at each other. “They changed the layout?”
“It makes sense, Ginny. The prisoners have been broken out before, like in fifth year. It’s probably structured after the Bank.” Arthur commented. “If it is, breaking out of the prison now would be nigh impossible.”
“Are there any other laws that Amelia is changing?”
“The werewolf laws for one. It’s now being recognized as a disease and they’re offering Wolfsbane potion to those who can’t afford it as well as a place where they transform if they don’t have a place secure enough. They still have the registration so we know who’s infected and stuff. They’re still debating if a werewolf should be allowed on the forces like the Aurors and Unspeakables.” Lupin headed down a hallway. “They’ve also increased funding for research and experimentation. The last I heard on that was the team assigned to the task has started communications with another research team in Transylvania who’s been working on it for ten years now since Snape invented the potion.”
“What are you saying, Remus?” Molly caught the smile dancing around the werewolf’s lips; she had seen the hint of a smile.
“A way to actually control the werewolf for every second of every day without losing control, Molly; they are claiming they’ve discovered a way for a werewolf to learn control and actually transform even if it isn’t the full moon.”
“Oh, that’s good news!”
“The only downside is the pathway to controlling the way inside is not working the way it is in theory. If they can break through whatever is holding them back, there’s a chance they’ve taken one step closer to getting rid of the werewolf virus.” Lupin’s eyes light up. It had been tough on him his whole life for what happened to him when he was a child. He had seen it tear his family apart, his dad dying from the knowledge the deal he had with Fenrir had cost him his son’s happiness and his mum had died a few years later when his mother had died from trying to keep the food on the table. His saving grace had been James’ who had given him money to survive. Remus had used most of it to build a room capable of keeping the werewolf inside as well as buying the expensive ingredients for the potion.
“Arthur, you and Molly can have this room here. It’s the biggest after the master bedroom and Harry’s.” Lupin pushed the door open, revealing a room that looked more at place in the Burrow. “Sirius and I picked out the décor to make you more at home here.”
“Where are we sleeping Remus?” Ron asked.
“You’re sleeping up on the third floor. Hermione will be taking a room up on the third as well. Harry is sleeping on the fourth floor in Regulus’ room. Sirius got over his brother finally. Wasn’t easy packing all that stuff up as he tended to study them for hours. Sirius didn’t care about his parents’ belongings. He just checked them over the banister to the first floor.” Remus backed out of the room. “I’ll let you get settled in. Dinner is at five.”
“This place looks so much better without all those dark emotions all over the place.” Ginny stated. “It felt icky in here.”
“I’m sure if it was up to Sirius, the whole place would be decked in Gryffindor colors.”
“Well, Ron, we’ll have Remus to thank for the differing color schemes. Red and gold would have become an eyesore after a while.” Molly reached into her pocket and pulled out their luggage, enlarging them until they rested on the floor. “You get along and put your things away. I don’t want to see clothing all over the floor.”
The two children nodded, grabbing theirs and heading up to the third floor to pick out their rooms.
Arthur watched as his wife began moving about the room, putting away their things without using her wand, a sure sign was bothering her. “It’s going to be okay, Molly. Everything will work out.”
The graying redhead stuffed her socks into the bottom drawer. “How do you know, Arthur? How do you know everything will work out? Our daughter is a werewolf after getting infected by her boyfriend in his werewolf state. I’ve heard about what happens when it happens like that. The wolf inside of Harry will see Ginny as its mate, as his. If their relationship doesn’t work, Harry will become territorial if anyone tries to date Ginny. And there’s the fact that the werewolf in Ginny will see Harry as hers. She’ll feel the compulsion to mate with him.” She sat down the bed. “It’s already tearing Harry from her.”
“He’s still in shock.” Arthur wrapped his arms around Molly, rubbing her arms. “We’re the only family he knows besides Remus and Sirius. Because of his relatives, he thinks everything is his fault and with that type of influence, he thinks he lost us too.” He kissed his wife’s forehead. “Harry’s too noble for his own sometimes.”
Molly wringed her hands, stretching the hem of her shirt. “There’s also the fact of that compulsion, Arthur. They’re getting to that age. It happened to us with Bill. They’re too young to be making love.” She gave a dark chuckle so unlike herself. “I know it’s hypocritical of me, but to bring a child during these times isn’t a good idea, especially with Harry being who he is.”
“It’s part of the werewolf biology.” Arthur blushed slightly at the look Molly gave him. “I talked with Remus last week when we crossed each other at the Ministry. He said that once they find a companion, the werewolf will have some tendencies to want to be with their companion for certain things, whether it was sexual in nature or not.”
“So if they want to-”
“Then we’ll have no choice unless we want an enraged werewolf or two on our hands.”

“Can you pass the peas?” Ron asked, digging into his mashed potatoes.
“Now I know what you mean when you said he ate like a dragon.” Remus remarked passing the dish.
“I don’t know how mum made enough to keep up with his appetite.”
“I had your brothers Bill and Charlie remember? Ron eats enough for both of them.” Molly set another dish of corn on the table. Sirius grabbed one and munched on it. “Sirius, how was your visit with Albus?”
“Okay, I guess. Albus is helping Amelia on how to approach the werewolf clans and such. If we can get these new set of werewolf laws through, then there’s a chance we can tell the world that Harry is a werewolf. One of the new laws is about the Auror force. If those researchers in Transylvania can actually help werewolves, then they can be allowed to join the Auror force as an asset.”
“Harry will be happy about that. He has wanted to be an Auror but he’s been having doubts since Umbridge told him he wouldn’t make it.”
“That witch!” Ginny hissed. “She actually said that to him?”
Ron nodded, swallowing a chunk of chicken down. “Yup but McGonagall got into her face and told her she would see Harry through herself even if it meant overriding Snape.”
“That was one thing I talked about with Dumbledore. We’ve been talking about Harry’s seventh year and the prophecy. Dumbledore’s decided to increase Harry’s training so he won’t be going to the DADA classes with you. He’ll be training with Mad-Eye.” Sirius leaned back, grinning suddenly. “Also, with the new werewolf laws and such, he wanted me to give you this.” Sirius slid an envelope to Remus who looked confused.
Taking it, Remus tore it open. His eyes widened as he read the first line. “What? Is he mad?”
“No. That would be the parents of the students. It seems with the new laws, quite a number of letters came in from parents demanding that you’d be reinstated, all of them stating that you can now teach DADA and you were the best professor for the job.”
Ginny squealed, launching herself out of her place and hugging Remus as Ron grinned. “I’m so happy for you Remus! This year is going to be the best!”
“I’ll owl Hermione. She’ll want to know as soon as possible.”
“You do know, as it’s your NEWT year, I’ll be loading homework on you to prepare for the exams.” Remus laughed as Ron winced. “I’ll make sure to include enough practice but the theory is important Ron.”
“I know, I know. I hear it enough from Hermione.”
Something pulled at Ginny watching as Remus and Ron talked about the upcoming exams. Sirius threw in a couple of comments, mostly about what happened between James, his examiner, and a large pile of dung bombs. Something was calling to her. She didn’t see her parents’ knowing looks as she slipped out of the dining room into the short hallway.
She walked, not knowing where she was heading. Entering the foyer where the staircase was, she started climbing when a gasp sounded in her sensitive ears. Startled she looked up to see Harry standing on the landing, green eyes boring into hers. The next second he was bolting back up to the fourth story. She flew after him, sprinting up the stairs.
“Harry, wait!” He ignored her pleas. As he came out on the fourth floor landing, his foot slipped on the rug, falling. She gained him as he climbed back to his feet, cursing.
Ginny followed Harry, slamming her hand against the door before he could close it on her and pushed him into the room. Stepping in, she slammed the door, whirling around to face him. “Harry we need to talk.”
“What’s there to talk about?” He snarled, his shoulders tense as he shifted uncomfortable on his feet. “Get out.”
“No.” She ignored the glare he sent her way. “Hiding the fact that it happened isn’t going to make it go away. We’ll be going to school in seven weeks. Are you going to act like this when we’re in the common room or at the table when we eat?”
“What makes you think I’m going back to Hogwarts? The parents aren’t going to trust a werewolf with their children. They’re not even going to care that it’s me, they’re only going to see the monster inside.” Harry snapped, still not looking at her. He shifted on his feet, hands twitching. “Ron isn’t going to trust me with you again. I don’t even trust myself.”
“He trusts you and most importantly I trust you.”
Harry snorted. “You shouldn’t! I raped you!”
“That’s not the truth. You haven’t even spoken with Remus about being a werewolf so how would you know how they act and think? You don’t know everything.”
“Third year; we all learned how werewolves are. That’s enough for me. And it is my bloody fault. You were crawling away. I stopped you and I forced you under me.” Harry shouted, exploding in her face. “That’s the truth! So don’t even dare lie!”
Ginny’s anger flared. Stepping up to him, she hissed. “You want the truth?” His eyes widened. “You want the real truth? Every time, I think about it, I get wet instantly. I loved it, Harry. I loved the fact that it was you doing it.” She watched his throat work, swallowing, eyes tearing away from his wide eyes. “That’s the truth, Harry.” She moved, sitting down on his bed. “I feel so guilty about it because I knew you were going to act like this when you turned back.”
Harry slid down the wall, let his legs stretch out before him, head banging against the wall. “It’s eating me up inside. You trusted me to save you. I couldn’t let Fenrir get to you so I did the only thing that I thought was the best option.” He stopped, biting on his lower lip. “I grabbed his dick so he could bite me. I believed that letting myself turn into a werewolf would increase my chances that I could get to him. I never once thought the wolf would turn on you.
His green eyes meet Ginny’s, clouded with grief and guilt. “I thought our first time was going to be something more, us connecting on a level we never went to before with someone else.” He let his head fall against the wall. “I wanted to treat you the way you should be treated.” He let his head fall onto his knees.
“And what would that be?” Ginny asked, hope rising in her.
“With love-” Harry answered simply. He lifted his head, eyes suddenly serious. “Because I realized something while I was fighting during the battle.”
“Which was?”
Harry shifted. “I love you.”
Ginny gasped. “You love me?”
Harry nodded, a blush forming around his neck, spreading to his cheeks. “Gin?” She didn’t answer. Fearing the worst, Harry stood up, quickly striding toward the door. Seeing him leaving, she jumped to her feet, fingers closing around his forearm and swinging him around. The next second, Harry groaned, hands going to her face as her lips crashed onto his. Fire curled in her belly again as she felt him deepen it, tongue thrusting into her mouth.
Ginny didn’t notice he was pushing her back until her knees hit the bed, both of them falling. Instinctively, she wrapped her legs around him, thrusting up. The need to breath caused them to break apart, gasping.
“Ginny.” He shifted, his need brushing up against her jean covered thigh. They kissed again, hand roaming.
She gasped, arching. “Oh, Merlin, we have to stop before- ugh, before we do something.” Harry bit her gently on her neck. “Harry.”
He released her, breathing hard. “I want you.” The creature, the wolf was howling in him to claim her again, his groin aching with pure need. “Damn it.” He let his head drop against hers, trying to control his rampaging hormones. He closed his eyes, trying to banish the sight of Ginny panting against him. He focused on his breathing; in, out, in, out.
For minutes, they laid there, slowly getting their bodies back under control.
“You have to talk to Remus, Harry. He’s the only one that knows what we’re going through.” Ginny kissed him lightly, feeling his body tremble. “We can get through this. We just need time.”
Harry moved off of her, gathering her into his arms. “I hope so, Gin. I can’t lose you.” He whispered before kissing her again.
