“Tom, I have some bad news...” William spoke in Tom's mind. “I caught Andrew sneaking out of your home after waiting until you had left.”

“Follow him!”
Tom commanded as soon as William's words finished in his mind. “I do not want any harm to fall on him, and this retrieval could turn wrong.”

“I'm with him,”
William replied. “I tried to convince him to return to your home, and wait for your return, but he refused. He let me stay with him, as protection, but that was all he'd allow. We've been following you downwind, so if you want him to return to your home, you're going to have to meet us halfway and make him budge.”

Tom sighed in frustration as he signaled for his head fighter, Justin, to come to him. “I have to return to the home ahead of you and the others,” he explained as he mentally told William he would be on his way shortly. “Something has come up, so go on ahead and get Wentz the others away from Aubrey's guards. Bring them directly to the mansion, with no sidetracks. If anyone tries to get in your way, take them down and leave no trace of the body. Got it?”

“Yes Master Conrad,” Justin answered, his expression serious. “Master, if William's suspicions are true, and they have recruited help, what shall we do with them?” He questioned, a bloodthirsty look filling his blue eyes.

Tom chuckled, knowing what Justin was asking, and nodded. ”Kill them, but bring the bodies to the mansion so that we can harvest and store what's left of the blood.”

“Thank you Master,” he grinned before he slipped off to gladly follow through with his Master's orders.

Struggling viciously against two well-built vampire guards, Brendon watched hopelessly as two other guards circled Andy. The hunter had been stripped of his sword when the guards had begun removing any and all weapons from within reach, to better their own chances of survival, but now he was still trying to attack. Pete, Joe, and Patrick had begged for him to back down and let himself be restrained, but he hadn't listened.

Anyone who could possibly help was subdued in some form, but even though they all were struggling, Brendon fought harder. That was his lover being circled by the two who had plans to drain the fighter dry. They knew it was against orders, but the blood smelled too damn good to ignore, and the adrenaline pumping through his veins only made it sweeter to them. Even Brendon could smell it, but it was his lover's blood that he refused to crave.

“Leave him alone!” Brendon roared right before the two males zeroed in on Andy, who quickly dodged their attacks, which had thankfully only been to grab.

The third guard, that stood behind Brendon, struck the back of the vampire's head with such brute force that stars danced in his vision. He grinned as he watched Brendon slump in the arms of the two guards, even though he was still conscious. Brendon being dazed was enough to give the guard satisfaction.

Andy dodged another grab attack, and in the middle of his step he reached behind him and grabbed the handle of the collapsible taser wand that he had tucked into the back of his pants before leaving the safety of the warehouse. With a quick flick of his wrist he snapped it open, the device buzzing to life as he flipped the switch in the same movement. It had already been set as high as it would go beforehand, so that was one less thing he would have to try and do during this fight for his life.

The first vampire made his move, planning on avoiding the device, but Andy was quicker, and he went down, dropping in a twitching mess on the floor. The second vampire growled deep in his throat as he kicked the body away, his black eyes focused on Andy. Reaching behind him, between his shoulder blades, he removed the sword he had tucked into a sheath sewn into his jacket.

Brendon's eyes widened at the sight of the sharp blade before he pushed his way into the mind of the guard, being careful not to be noticed as he projected the guard's thoughts into Andy's mind. He went still in his struggles as he concentrated on keeping the link going for as long as he could. Even a vampire that had mastered transmitting had a low limit on how long he could do it with how strenuous of a mental activity it was.

Brendon had mastered it to a degree, but half of his strength had already been spent fighting to get free to save his lover. He didn't have much time to hold the link, but he still hope Andy could stand a fighting chance with what time he had. From the link alone he already felt a bit drained, but he would pass out before he let the link.

It didn't help his strength level any that he was also putting energy into distracting the vampire's mind, while trying to remain undetected.

At first Andy was startled to see into the mind of an enemy, let alone hear the thoughts as well, but he knew he couldn't let it distract him. Not now. He quickly adjusted to it though, and continued to move and dance away from the attacking vampire. It was like watching two movies on two different screens. One his eyes saw, the other his mind saw.

On the first screen he saw his opponent as they danced around one another, each dodging their blows, as his heart pounded in his chest. His adrenaline was already rushing, but it picked up as he read the thoughts of the vampire. On the other screen, he saw, and smelt, himself. He could see the moves he was making, and he could hear how sweet the vampire thought his blood smelled as it rushed even faster now in his veins.

Samoyed frowned as he watched the movement of the two, both fighting for their survival. After years upon years of training with his fellow fighter, he knew how fluidly his friend/comrade moved so it was easy for him to key in to something being wrong. When Jared swung his sword in a move that would have delivered a mortal wound, only to have Andy duck and move to the side as if predicting it, his doubts that he had been imagining it vanished. He watched closer and noticed that Andy was moving a fraction of a second before every attack Jared was throwing at him. Turning his attention to Brendon, he saw for the first time just how still he had become, and how weak he now suddenly looked. A deep growl escaped him as he looked to Alex, another one of the guards, who had once been a sniper in his past, human life.

Brendon was so focused on his current tasks that he didn't notice what was happening until it was too late. The sound of the gunshot broke his focus, but what truly got his attention was the sudden jerk in Andy's body before the front of his shirt slowly became red and the smell of blood filled his senses. Instead of igniting his hunger like it should have, he suddenly felt sick. A choked sob escaped him as Jared, no longer distracted by the link, and now enraged by what had happened, drove his sword sideways through Andy. The blade went between each side of the ribcage before Jared stopped putting pressure into the blow, the blade sticking out Andy's opposite side, dripping his blood.

A sickening gurgle escaped him as his friends stared with wide, disbelieving eyes as their friend crumpled to the ground, his blood pooling around him.

Brendon stared at his dying lover, who had killed by trying to protect him. He was all I had, he thought as the yells of rage, anger, and horror from those around him faded into nothing. He felt cold and numb as he went totally limp, no longer aware of anything but Andy's body as the guards let him hit the floor as they went to congratulate their friend. The only true love I'll ever know is dead... It's my fault...

A movement caught his eyes, making them shift to the guard that was licking his fangs as he moved towards Andy's fallen body. Something in Brendon snapped and his lips pulled back over his fangs. His eyes darkened until black consumed them and he lunged, ready to kill the bastard for daring to try to feed off of Andy. He had just sunk his fangs deep into the throat of the offender when another gunshot rang out and a pained scream erupted from Ryan.

Tom frowned as he came to a stop not too far away from William and Andrew. A small stab of betrayal cut through him at the realization that his lover had actually come after him, even though he had claimed to understand. He sighed and waited until they were closer before he stepped out of the shadows, his eyes narrowed at his pet.

Andrew's eyes went wide as he came to skidding halt. “M-Master, what are you-”

“Why did you betray me!?” Tom growled, his jaw clenching as William came to a stop and stepped to the side to watch the chaos unfold. “You told me you understood why I wanted you to stay home!”

Andrew shot a look to William. “You!” He growled, baring his fangs at the former coven leader. “You told him, didn't you!?”

“I had to,” William answered in Andrew's mind, frowning with seemingly sincere sadness. “I didn't want to see my friend hurt by harm that could have come to you if that retrieval went wrong.”

“You... Ugh! Bastard!” Andrew looked at Tom, who was shaking his head at him. “I have to be there, dammit Tom!”

“You never loved him...”

“And you know why I want you safe and sound!” Tom replied, frowning as he watched his life partner. “I was going to bring them back to the house, you can see him then, go home.”

“What the fuck are you talking about?” Andrew looked at Tom. “You made it seem as if there would be some great battle.”

“It's your brother I would be taking, do you honestly think he and his friends would go down easily?” Tom questioned.

“No, but still! That means there was a chance there might not be. I could have come with you.”

“After I turned you, do you remember when he came to get you from my home?” William questioned, slowly weaving his way into Andrew's mind.

“Yes.”

“No, you couldn't have Andrew,” Tom sighed, exasperated by his love's stubborness. “If this turns ugly you could get hurt in the middle of it and I wouldn't know what to do if I lost you.”

“I let him look into my mind, at your beauty, at how gorgeous you looked when you writhed beneath me that first night. He said he had to have you, so I told him he could have you.”

Andrew frowned as he looked at Tom, realizing how false the words were sounding from his lover's mouth. “I don't understand what you're trying to tell me...” He shook his head. “If anything happened I could have fought.”

“You're not a fighter.”

“I told him you didn't want our life, that you would rather die, and that I was having trouble getting you to submit. He said he could make you love him without your heart ever wanting him.”

Andrew turned his eyes to William, shock and disbelief in his eyes, only to receive a nod. He looked at Tom, who looked unphased by the transaction. “Is that so?” He questioned, figuring William had let him hear their conversation, and he had just chosen to remain silent for now.

“Yes,” Tom answered.

“Tell him Tom, how you knew he never loved you,” William spoke. “How you still have me controlling his emotions.”

Tom raised a brow at William. “Yeah, he's no good at fighting. He can defend himself a little, but not enough to matter. I thank you for bringing his escape to my attention.”

As Tom spoke, William made Andrew deaf to the real words, allowing him to hear instead, “He never did love me. He's good in bed, but that's about it, but thanks for bringing him to me anyway.”

Andrew stared at Tom in shock, unable to accept what was being said. “Make me stop loving him then,” Andrew ordered William, who made Tom hear, “Make me go home then.”

William nodded and made Andrew's heart and mind numb to his love for Tom, as if he has done what Andrew had asked. “See? You feel nothing for him, do you Andrew?”

“Let's go home Andrew,” Tom said as he moved closer to his lover. “I'll take you home, and we'll wait together for my guards to bring your brother to the house.” Tom quickly moved back as Andrew took the gun from his back pocket, that he had placed there in case he and William ran into trouble, and aimed it at him. “Andrew, love, what are you doing?” He questioned, his eyes full of concern and confusion.

Andrew growled as his eyes darkened. “You lied to me. You betrayed me. You had me under some fucking mind fuck!” He sneered. “I'm ending your life,” he answered before he pulled the trigger.

Tom was too in shock as the first bullet hit, to even register the other two shots, before the final, fourth shot struck him in the head.

[Author's Note: For those of you who didn't want to see that one happen, I'm very sorry but blame my wife for making me think of that bit lol. I had Andy planned, but Tom was an unexpected surprise, even to me. But reviews are loved and provide motivation, so please give them. Hope you guys liked the chapters!!! =)]
