Andrew stayed close to William as they followed Tom and his fighters, at least half an hour behind. They kept this far back to avoid the wind carrying their scent to them, but with the lack of even the smallest breeze Andrew was beginning to fidget. William seemed calm, despite his seething rage that he was barely able to contain. He was going to take great delight in watching Peter and his foolish friends get captured, and then he would lead Andrew back to Tom's, where the party would be brought. Once at the house, in the cells, William would resume his tortures on Peter and his friends.

He had everything planned out.

Brendon and Ryan, who had betrayed him, as well as Deacon, would suffer slowly while watching their loves ones die. Pete would be mind fucked until he truly believed he needed William to live, and as for his lover, Patrick would be sold to the highest bidder. After having read Deacon's mind during their last encounter, he had decided that he would make Joe forget Deacon and make him his own personal slave. After all, he could use someone with those talents in his home.

Adam Siska, the traitor would also be punished, along with Gabe, who had believed to be an ally of his. They would die together, watching each other suffer until they no longer lived.

Of course, before murdering anyone, he would pick every single brain for the names of anyone who would dare betray him, or work against him for that matter. Everyone involved would suffer, or pay with their lives.

Among the list was someone else who he needed to take out, someone who could hinder any of his success if he were allowed to live. But that was what he needed Andrew for.

In the empty basement everyone waited in the calm before the storm, waiting for the inevitable. Groups were scattered about, having small conversations to try to pass the time, others were deep in their own thoughts. No matter what they were all doing, each person could feel the tension in the air, despite their efforts to not think about it. However, no one noticed the slight shifting in the crowd, of certain vampires moving around. Except for Gabe, and Rayne, who were both watching everyone while trying to look as normal as possible.

Brendon was by Andy, their bodies pressing lightly together as they sat side by side, watching everyone, oblivious of the shifting. Brendon looked to Andy when he cleared his throat, a questioning look on his face but Andy shook his head, only slightly. Any humans looking would have missed it, but Brendon caught it with his vampire eyes and looked away as Andy ran his fingers through his long hair, pausing for the briefest of moments at his temple.

Andy stared at one of the guards, who had stayed still only the whole time at his post by the entryway. He thought about tense he seemed, and how his eyes kept darting over the vampires and humans in the basement. He almost seemed nervous of them.

Brendon pondered over Andy's thoughts and put his hand on his lover's knee, giving it a small squeeze. "May I have permission to use this way to speak with you?" He questioned as he slowly pushed into Andy's mind, happy that he had let him in instead of pushing him away. When he received the barest of nods, he spoke again. "I noticed the tension is different with the guards, than everyone else here. They're acting normal, but something has got to be up for them to be shifting their eyes as much as they are. If they were humans they would probably be broken out in a sweat by now..."

Andy frowned a little and looked at Pete and Patrick who were talking with Joe and Deacon about fighting ideas and strategies. "Should we tell them?" He thought, looking to Brendon.

Brendon bit his lip as he looked at Andy. "I honestly don't know," he replied before he leaned in and kissed him softly. "Keep kissing me so no one gets suspicious of us looking at each other without talking..." He moaned softly when Andy returned the kiss and placed his hand on Brendon's cheek. "What do you think we should do?"

"We should go to Gabe,"
Andy thought as Brendon deepened the kiss a little. "See if he has noticed anything before we worry Pete some more."

Brendon slowly broke the kiss and smiled at Andy before he stole a soft kiss, ignoring the few stares the couple were getting. "Good idea baby. I'll tell Gabe from here so it won't look odd, or draw any attention to us..."

Andy smiled and stole a small kiss from Brendon, and looked up when Travis McCoy and a few of his followers, as well as the rest of Hilary's hunting group entered the basement, getting a few alert stares before the gazes shifted elsewhere.

Pete looked up and smiled when Hilary came in. With his vampire speed he ran to her and hugged her close, glad that she had made it to the basement safely, even if he wasn't happy that she was getting involved with something that may be deadly to her. "I'm glad you got here okay," he said as he let go of her after she had returned his hug and let go.

"We all got here safely but the bad news is Travis and Disashi both caught the scents of some vampires and they were getting stronger," she said, gaining the attention of some of those around her and the group. "Chances are we might have just enough time to get ready and wait for it to happen."

As Pete opened his mouth to reply, the sound of numerous weapons being cocked filled the room, and the barrel of a mercury bullet gun pressed against his temple.

Valencia Rose stared at the house that she had been given the address of, and wondered how long it had been since she had laid eyes on Aubrey Cyprus, an old friend from years ago. She walked to the door, ignoring the guards that stared at her, obviously distracted by the beauty she possessed, and rang the doorbell.

When the door opened, she came face to face with a guard that was holding a weapon, aimed at the entry way. "Who are you?" He questioned, not phased by her looks.

"My name is Valencia Rose," she answered slowly. "I would like to speak with your master, Aubrey Cyprus. It's an urgent matter." She glared at the door that shut rudely in her face, but listened as he made his way up the stairs, his voice getting lost in the house. It didn't take long for him to return, with an apologetic expression as he opened the door.

"I'm very sorry, Ms. Rose, but there have been certain problems lately," he explained as he opened the door wider for her. "Please, accept my apology?"

"I'll accept your apology the minute you show me to Aubrey," she replied, her voice icy as her eyes took on a cold stare. Rudeness was not something she had ever accepted from anyone; pets or not.

"Yes ma'am."

Valencia followed the servant up the grand stair case, to be led to an open door that revealed a vast study. Sitting in one of the chairs was Aubrey, who eyed her with surprise and caution. His cold blue eyes darted to his guard before they shifted to the doorway, letting him get the hint. She waited until she was alone with Aubrey, before she let her expression give way to a warm smile. "It's so good to see you still alive, my friend."

A tense smile crossed Aubrey's lips before he rose to his feet and moved to her, enveloping her in a loose hug. "As you, Valen, but you'll have to forgive me, I'm not one for company right now. I just didn't want to believe after almost three hundred years you would seek me out."

Valencia returned his hug, but as a normal one, instead of his loose hug. "I know it might seem strange, but I'm actually here to see you because of your involvement with William Beckett," she replied as she released him, earning a confused stare. "I was told you confronted him once before, a fight that he got away from."

Aubrey's jaw clenched slightly as he motioned to a seat across from his own before he took his own seat. "Valen, I hate to admit it, but yes, he got away from us that night. But a group of hunters, one of which is a relative of one of my pets, destroyed his home shortly after. Apparently he survived somehow, even though one of them tried to rip out his throat."

Valencia frowned at the news. "Can you tell me where he is now?"

"Yes, and no..."

"Explain..."

"I know of his location, but I can't tell you," he answered as he locked eyes with her. "If I tell you, it could cost the life of someone dear to me."

"How did he come to possess this hold over you, Aubrey?" Valencia asked, her confusion echoing in her voice.

Aubrey leaned back in his chair, running his hand over his shaven head before his eyes darted to the floor. "It was shortly after we heard of his supposed demise, my lover and I were out on a hunt, alone. We were ambushed by vampires from a coven I had not heard of in a long time. His coven isn't even from around here so I was only on alert for our usual threats. We were both secured, but he was taken and I was left behind. I was told by one of the vampires that he would be kept safe, unless I refused to help William destroy a group of hunters, the one that has a member related to my lover. I agreed and as far as my mental link to my lover tells me, he is indeed well."

"I hope your lover isn't close to this relative, " she murmured, "or at least that he never finds out that it's you helping William go after this group."

"If he ever finds out I'll simply make him forget his brother," he replied, a dark looking creeping into his ocean blue eyes.
