Part Seven
Keliah's POV
We all pulled into the hotel parking lot about the same time. We all got out and headed to the front doors of the hotel. Except for Patrick.
"I've got to go out and get something really quick. I'll be back before you know it."
"Ok." I said, puzzled a little bit. "Do you want me to make you a sandwich or something?"
"That sounds fantastic."
"Okay then. I'll see you in a bit then." I kissed him on the lips quickly and we said our goodbyes. I tried to watch his car leave out of the parking lot, but I heard Farrah's voice calling my name.
"Keliah! KEL! Come on!"
"Fine, fine, yeah I'm coming."
-------------------
Pete, Joe and Andy were kind enough to give Farrah and I some privacy, so they ate in their room. Hotel catering was amazing, but I promised I would make Patrick a sandwich, so I made myself one, and one for him. I wondered why he had left so quickly, but I had no idea what rockstars did all the time. Maybe he was off taking care of business or something? Maybe he left something at the studio? I wasn't sure, but something told me that there was nothing to worry about.
Farrah sat on the sofa and ate her burger that she ordered from the hotel. Andy would've hated seeing her eat that, but I'm sure if Andy won this battle for her, he'd convert to vegan in a heartbeat. Joe probably would've applauded, knowing Andy would hate her eating an animal. I giggled at the idea to myself and I finished making the sandwiches at the counter. I heard a knock on the door and Farrah yelled loudly, "I'LL GET IT!!!" as she set her food down to go open the door. "Oh, hi, Patrick, come on in." I heard her say. A smile came over my face. "Kel's in the kitchen right now-" I walked out of the kitchen and handed him a sandwich.
"I'm right here. Here's your sandwich, as promised." I smiled
"You're too good for me." he grinned and took the sandwich from my hand.
Farrah shrugged and went back to the sofa to finish her lunch. I grabbed my sandwich from the counter and sat next to Farrah on the sofa, as Patrick took the chair right beside me.
"So, what was it that you had to get?"
"Oh, uh...nothing. It was just to drop off some mail and stuff, you know, errands and all that." he stuttered out quickly.
I squinted my eyes at him and watched his face. "You're lying."
He sighed. "You're right, I am. No, I wasn't out doing errands. I was doing something far more important, but you can't know about it yet. It's supposed to be a surprise as long as the band keeps their goddamn mouths shut when I tell them."
I raised my eyebrows in confusion. "Well, alrighty then. At least you told the truth...sort of."
He took a bite of his sandwich and giggled. "Trust me, it's a good surprise, you just... can't know about it yet. And actually, I do need to tell the guys about this mysterious surprise, so..."
"Go ahead. Farrah and I will have some girl time here. You go tell them whatever...it is. Just promise you'll be over tonight."
"I promise." he kissed me on the cheek and I felt my face get warm from his soft lips pressing against my skin. He walked towards the door and I bit my lip as I watched his ass as he left the room.
"Damn." I said, taking a bite of my sandwich. "That boy is FINE." I slurred in my best gangster-speak. Farrah shuddered. "Oh my god, don't ever talk like that AGAIN!" she laughed.
"So...Farrah...who are you gonna pick?"
"What're you talking about?" she spat, with a mouthful of food. I laughed at her as she covered her mouth with her hand.
"You know damn well what I'm talking about, missy. Andy and Joe."
"OH! Well, uh....I guess I hadn't thought about it. It seems bit unfair for them to make me choose. They should just settle it man to man, get it over with, and whoever wins is the one that tries to get me to date them."
"But if you had to choose?"
"I wouldn't. I couldn't. Andy is great with all of his tattoos, his glasses, and his mad drumming skills. And Joe is great too, with his fluffy hair, piercing blue eyes, and guitar skills. I wouldn't be able to pick."
"If it was my choice, I think I'd pick Joe. He has pretty eyes. Not as pretty as Patrick's though." I sighed, daydreaming about his gorgeous, emerald green eyes.
"Yeah, see you've got it easy. You fell in love before seeing him or knowing his name. He also happened to see how amazing and sexy you are and fell in love in return. Me? Not so easy."
"Fine. Pick Pete. Piss off both of them and just pick Pete."
Farrah took a bite of her burger and chewed slowly, contemplating the idea.
"Well, I've always had a little crush on Pete, but he's got a girlfriend anyways."
"How do you know?"
"That night we went out partying, I accidentally kissed him thinking he was this other hot guy at the bar, and he was like, 'yo, I have a girlfriend' and I apologized, we both laughed and that was that."
"Oh well...that's good. Wouldn't want you dating his sort anyways, girl. He's a nosy, possessive little bitch sometimes isn't he?"
"True that." she said, taking another bite of her burger.
--------------------
Patrick's POV
I had just stepped out of her hotel room and I took a deep breath, leaning back against the door I had closed behind me. I was about to slip up in there, and when she told me I was lying I had to think at a 100 miles an hour just to come up with an explanation or a way to cover it up. Luckily...I pulled it off.
I walked back to my hotel room and saw the guys had ordered pizza. One that looked like it was covered in pepperoni and cheese, the other, a plain pizza with nothing but sauce, for Andy. Joe threw his hands in the air and said, "HEY! Look who finally showed up to the party! Why are you so late, dude?" I shook my head at him and took another bite of the sandwich Kel had made for me.
"I, uh, had to get something. And really. If this is a party, then we really have gotten boring."
Pete waved his hand at Joe and turned to me. "Ah, don't listen to him. I think he may be a bit high. We're not sure how. But we think he is. Or at least...he's just being stupid. One of the two. By the way, I wanted to say that I was sorry for the way I was acting in the studio. I was being an ass for no reason."
I shook my head. "Nah, don't be. I was being cocky. I sorta deserved it."
"So, we good then?"
"Ah, we were never NOT good, man."
"Awesome. So why aren't you over there with Kel anyways? I thought you were gonna eat lunch with her?"
I took the last bite of my sandwich and paused for a bit.
"I was planning on it, but I had something to tell you guys and I have to keep it from her. She can't know...yet."
The room went silent, and guesses started flying through the air.
"You slept with a hooker?"
"You thought her shoes were ugly?"
"You hired a hooker?"
"You're secretly gay?"
"You hired a hooker FOR her?"
I quickly threw my hands in the air to stop the commotion. "NO, I liked her shoes, NO again, definitely not, and why the fuck would I do that?"
The room went quiet again. "Sorry, Trick."
"Seriously. Can't tell you guys anything anymore. So, can you keep this a secret?"
"Yes." they all replied.
"That means not telling a soul."
"Okay."
"And if any of you tell Keliah before I get to, I will personally wring your neck."
Pete rolled his eyes. "Oh my GOD, GET ON WITH IT!"
"Fine!"
I moved everyone close together in a huddle and pulled a small box out of my pocket. Pete started shaking his head. "No fucking way dude, no fucking wa-"
I opened the box to show a delicate diamond ring. It was silver and gold, braided together on the band.
I smiled as the guys stared at it in awe. "It's a 4 carat heart shaped diamond in the middle. Made of real silver and gold." I said, full of pride. Andy stared at it for awhile until he finally spoke up. "Man. This must've cost you a fucking fortune."
"It was quite a bit, but it's totally worth it."
Joe and Pete glanced at each other quickly. "Trick, don't tell me that ring is for what I think it is." I looked up at them, shut the box and put it back in my pocket.
"I'm going to ask her to marry me."
Even Andy had a worried look on his face now. "Patrick, are you sure? You've only known her for not even a full week yet!"
"I know that. I also know that I have never met a girl like her, nor will I ever meet another one close."
Pete shook his head furiously. "Patrick, you can't do this."
"Can't do what, Pete? Marry the girl of my dreams?"
"Yes. Exactly that."
"AND WHY THE HELL NOT." I could feel my blood boiling in my veins. He had gone too far this time.
"Because Andy has a good point! You barely know this girl! So now you're going to throw your life away because she happens to think you're the best fuck she's ever going to have?!?!"
"TAKE IT BACK, WENTZ!"
"NO! I CAN'T LET YOU DO THIS!"
---------------
Keliah's POV
"What is that noise?" Farrah said as we sat there watching TV, painting our fingernails.
"Sounds like someone yelling." I said, sitting upright. "It's not the guys, is it?" It sounded muffled from a distance, so we couldn't hear clearly what they were saying. Farrah stood up. "I'll see if I can tell what they're saying. They might be talking about your surprise, so you, sit right where you are." I shrugged and went back to painting my nails.
----------------
Farrah's POV
I slowly walked towards the wall, and pressed my ear up against it.
"TAKE IT BACK, WENTZ!" I heard Patrick scream. It sounded like Patrick, even through the wall.
"NO! I CAN'T LET YOU DO THIS!" That voice was definitely Pete. He sounded like he was struggling against something. I really hoped that what I was hearing wasn't Patrick and Pete getting into a brawl. I then heard Joe and Andy's muffled voices quickly yelling at each other and more struggling. I then heard something get thrown, and whatever it was, it hit, making a large thud sound. I fought the urge to go over there and see what was going on, but I just shrugged it off. Maybe the surprise wasn't what I thought it was going to be after all...
-----------------
Patrick's POV
Impulse took over. I grabbed the nearest thing next to me, which happened to be a thick phonebook, and I tried to throw it at his face. I had had enough.
"I came here to tell you good news! News that made me happy! Something I thought my friends could support me on!" The phonebook had missed, hitting him in the shoulder and flying off into another direction of the room.
Joe got up quickly trying to block Pete from me. "Now, come on guys, don't do thi-"
Pete tried to run at me but Joe blocked him with his arm, holding him back. I glared at Pete, and I took one step forward. Andy moved closer to me, ready to hold me back. "How. Dare. You." I growled through clenched teeth. "I thought I had a friend that would back me up on something that would be good for me!" I screamed, tears stinging at my eyes for god knows what reason.
Pete struggled behind Joe's arm, and he eventually gave up, crying into Joe's shoulder. "YOU'RE OURS, DAMNIT! You're in OUR BAND! You're OUR LEAD SINGER! You can't just abandon us for HER!" he sobbed.
I stared at him, with a look of confusion on my face, which probably looked stupid, I'm sure. "That's what this is about? You think I'm gonna leave the band because I want to get married?"
Pete hung on Joe's arm like a rag doll and Andy went over to him to try and help him up. I watched and he collapsed on the couch, eyeliner streaming down his face. I didn't dare come any closer to him, for fear his outrage would attack in full force as I tried to explain. Pete stopped crying and stuttered out, "T-that's what's g-going to happen, and y-you know it!"
I slowly inched closer to Pete thinking that it may be safe to comfort him while he was vulnerable. I sat down on the couch next to him and put my hand on his shoulder. "Look, Pete, I'm not going to give up the band because of her. Dude, she'd probably kill me if I ever stopped singing. Remember when we met her? She fell in love with my voice first and foremost. I CAN'T give up the band with her around."
Without warning, Pete buried his face into my shoulder and sobbed. "Y-you have to promise you w-won't leave..."
I patted him on the back. "I promise, man. I wouldn't leave this for the world."
----------------
It took a while, (3 hours, to be exact) for Pete to regain his composure and dignity again. As much as I was scared and angry when he went into his psychotic rampage, now that I understood why he did it, I didn't feel so pissed off anymore. I felt really bad. I had yelled at him, accusing of him not being happy for me, and he was worried about the one thing he had left to cling onto in this world; his band. Behind the snarky, sarcastic, and annoying-as-piss outer shell, Pete was an incredibly sensitive person. He had the emotions of a girl. It wasn't a bad thing; it had gotten the band out of some tricky situations a few times, but it was still hard to control. Not only for him, but for us as well. We could never tell whether it was something we did or if he was just being pissed off to be pissed off. Thanks to this, however, Andy, Joe and myself have come to understand girls emotions more because of us having to deal with Pete all the time. Pete, however, because he was so much like a girl personality-wise, he'd either end up with a bitch fight on his hands over something stupid like eyeliner, or he'd end up making best friends with a girl, and never getting past the "just friends" stage. I felt bad for the guy, I really did. But it did annoy me that he was being so possessive over the matter. I just happened to land in a perfect situation, which doesn't happen to me...at all. Ever. I had to take advantage of it while I still could, before I did something stupid, like piss her off or make her hate me or something. I know my self-esteem sucks, but I needed her. So badly. I need Keliah with me, by my side, all the time. Pete never really understood that feeling until this band came along. We were his support. The things he needed to be the cocky, smart-mouthed asshole he always appears to be. He needed us like I needed her.
Andy was sitting next to me, texting away on his phone. We were waiting as Joe tried to help Pete get himself together. I put my face in my hands, feeling like shit because of what I said. Joe came through the hall with Pete, who came out with a half-hearted smirk on his face.
"Hey." he said softly.
"Look, man, I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have reacted like that, I was jus-"
Pete put up his hand to signal me to shut up.
"No. I'm the one who should be sorry. I shouldn't have reacted so badly to good news. If you plan on asking Keliah to marry you, than I am behind you 100%. I didn't mean to be so selfish and needy. But, not everything is about me." he said, shuffling his feet, looking down at his shoes.
"I still am sorry for throwing stuff at you. I should've thought about what you were saying rather than just jumping to conclusions."
"It's ok. I'm just starting to think I need to wear protective gear all the time." he joked, dryly.
"Just...next time you want to blow up at me, try to explain yourself better. Then I might not do things I'll regret later." I grinned.
"We're both good again, now, right?"
"Defnfitely."
"Good. Because getting a phonebook chucked at your shoulder doesn't feel too awesome." he said, wincing as he rubbed his shoulder.
I chuckled lightly. "So, do I have your blessing?"
His bright, white smile came across his face at last. "Of course, man."
I looked over at Andy and Joe who were sitting there with their phones, doing whatever the fuck they were doing. "And you guys?"
They both nodded. "Of course."
I smiled the widest smile I could. "I can't wait to ask her." I thought out loud.
