Part Nine
Patrick's POV
I knew what I had to do. Getting the courage to do it was another thing.
She continued what she was saying. "If you left...I don't know what I would do with myself...I wouldn't have anyone around anymore. My parents are both dead and I've lived by myself since I graduated high school, and Farrah has been my friend for as long as I can remember. I hadn't ever really had a boyfriend until you came along, Patrick. I never thought I'd meet you so I didn't have much hope, but you came into my life and made me feel so...secure, and-"
I raised my hand to get her to stop.
"I feel the exact same way, Kel. You know I love you. I would never leave you." I took a deep breath and got up from my seat. I had to do it. I couldn't leave her. I needed her with me. I heard Kel gasp as I got down in front of her on one knee. I was so nervous, I could feel the blood rushing through my veins. At first, I didn't know what to do. So I just started talking.
"You are wonderful. You are so compassionate, but you're still fierce when you have to be. We have so much in common, even in our lives. You say that you had no one to rely on except for your best friend, Farrah, and I've had the same thing happen to me for the past few years of my life. Pete has been the only guy that understands me, my music and my passions. Then you came along. After Farrah called out the band's name, I thought that you were both mindless fangirls, just like the rest. Farrah, yeah, she was...but she cooled down after awhile. But you, oh god, when you said you only heard one song, my heart skipped a beat. You weren't like everyone else that liked our music. I saw your face, and it was the most exceptionally beautiful face I had ever seen. And, man, when you said you liked my voice but didn't even know which one to address as Patrick, I had to stop myself from smiling. You've become my most trusted friend in the past few days, and I've lied at wake at night, trying to come up with a proper way to tell you how much you mean to me, as a friend, as a lover, and..." I pulled the box out of my pocket and opened it. "...hopefully, as a wife."
My heart raced as I said the last line. I had poured my heart out to this girl and now I was just bracing myself for whatever was about to come. She stared at the ring for what seemed like ages with a wide-eyed look on her face. She looked like she was going to cry. I closed my eyes, preparing for rejection.
------------------
Keliah's POV
I tried my hardest to stop myself from crying, but the tears just came. They were tears of joy, though. Not tears of sadness. I couldn't believe the guy of my dreams had just proposed. His innocent eyes were closed, as if in fear of a bad answer. I stood up quickly and yelled out my answer.
"OH MY GOD, YES!"
------------------
Patrick's POV
"OH MY GOD, ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?" I said as my eyes shot open, looking straight into her chocolate eyes. I laughed with the biggest smile on my face and stood up. I took her in my arms, feeling her warm arms wrap around me. I turned around to everyone else in the restaurant, not even caring what they were thinking. "SHE SAID YES! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?!?"
I heard a random slew of outbursts from the rest of the people in the restaurant.
"Congratulations!"
"Well done!"
"Sit the fuck back down!"
I took her left hand and shakily put the shining ring on her finger.
"Oh my god, it feels so good to be a husband!" I said as I kissed her hand.
She pulled her hand away and flung her arms over my shoulders. "And it feels amazing to be a wife!"
We then locked into a kiss that could've lasted forever. Her lips caressed mine with a love that was stronger than ever. I kissed her back firmly, not wanting it to end. My lips massaged hers as our tongues met. It was the best kiss I'd ever had in my life. Unfortunately, we finally broke apart, but we never moved an inch away from each other. My hands were resting comfortably at her hips, and her arms were wrapped around my neck and we just...stood there. I knew this was a moment I was never going to forget. This moment was going to be emblazoned in my mind until the day I die.
-----------------------
After we were done with our date, we headed back to the hotel with huge smiles on our faces. I pulled into the hotel parking lot and I turned off the car. I just sat there with my hands resting at the wheel. "I can't believe it. I'm engaged. To a beautiful, amazingly perfect and talented woman. How in the hell did I get so lucky?"
She looked at me with bright eyes. "You got lucky? I'm the one who's lucky. I now have a spectacular, talented, sexy, and perfect man as a fiancé."
"And as always, you're way too good for me." I leaned over and kissed her. "So, who should we tell first? Farrah, or the guys?"
She scrunched her nose up making her face look adorable and deep in thought.
"We should tell Farrah first. She'll be happy and everything, but I don't think she'll cause full on chaos like the guys will. We should tell them second so that way Farrah can join in on the ruckus."
I grinned at the thought of Pete causing a ruckus. I nodded in agreement, "Alright then. Let's go." We got out of the car and walked into the hotel lobby, hand in hand, up to our rooms.
"Did I tell you that Andy and Joe are fighting over Farrah through a video game?"
"Are you serious?" she rolled her eyes and laughed.
"Oh yeah. I got dressed for this date, and they were playing Mario Kart, seeing who got the best 2 out of 3. Whoever won gets first dibs on her. Joe won the first round, but I have no idea how the rest went."
"Oh, for god's sake. They're just gonna scare her off eventually if they keep this up. Remember in the studio when she asked to go to the restroom and dragged me with her? She was already freaked out by the fact they wouldn't leave her alone."
I shook my head. "I feel bad for her. I hope when she goes over there tonight that you know....nothing goes down. If you know what I'm saying."
"Ah, they have more dignity than that..." she hesitated, "....right?"
"Totally. However, you'd think they'd contain themselves a bit more around girls. But, they just kinda go for it. Me and Pete hang back, all nervous, and they're just kinda like, 'hey, wanna date me?' to any girl they take a fancy to. It's made me jealous before that they could just do that, but...in this case, I feel bad for 'em."
"I'm sure everything should be okay. I was talking to Farrah earlier about which one she'd choose. She couldn't pick between the two. She really did want them to settle it away from her, because she didn't want to hurt either of their feelings. And she was about ready to say no to both of them and date Pete just to make them pay for what they've been doing."
"Oooh, that's a bit harsh. But, hey, a lot of girls have tried to go out with Pete and some have succeeded with fairly decent relationships. Of course, none of them have stuck around, obviously." I giggled.
"Who would you pick if you were in Farrah's shoes?"
"Uh, well, considering I'm a dude, and I don't quite understand what you girls see in us guys, I'll just go by what I know. Joe's a really sweet guy, and wicked onstage. So I guess he'd be ok. But Andy, is a beast on the drums, and he's also a really caring guy. I'm sure neither one of them would be bad. I don't think I could pick either. It's Sophie's Choice, man, that's brutal. Now I REALLY feel bad for her."
She laughed as we walked down the hall to our rooms. I loved her laugh. Who was I kidding, I loved every inch of this woman. And she was unconditionally mine, as I was unconditionally hers. The thought made me smile as she opened the door to her hotel room. She crept in quietly, setting her purse down on the kitchen counter. I followed behind her, and I suddenly seen a flash of light appear in the corner of the room. Farrah was sitting on the sofa watching TV. She saw us come in. There was no use hiding now. Farrah got a big grin on her face.
"Well, well, well! Look at these two lovebirds trying to sneak into a hotel room at night!"
Kel smiled and grabbed me by the waist. It was strange having her do that to me instead of vice versa, but I liked it. It was very comforting. No wonder girls liked it when guys did that. I was learning something new every day. "And you wouldn't imagine the night we've had." She flashed a smile as she held up her left hand, wiggling her fingers to show off the ring.
"OH MY GOD." Farrah screamed. "PATRICK, YOU SERIOUSLY DID IT! OH MY GOD!"
Kel looked from me to her and asked, "She knew about this?"
"Sort of. She was probably the first I had talked about it with. But she didn't know when I was gonna do it."
Farrah got up excitedly and grabbed Keliah's hand, admiring the ring. She quickly responded to what I had said. "Yeah. I pinned him to a wall before you left making him tell me what was going on. He, more or less, asked me if he had my blessing to marry you." she said casually.
Kel looked at me and said sweetly, "Aw, you actually asked permission and everything? That is so adorable!"
I smiled. "I try. Hey, Farrah, do you want to come with us so we can go tell the guys?"
"Oh, gladly! Are Andy and Joe going to pounce on me?"
"They should have settled that by now, so only one of them will be, hopefully."
'Well, that's better than both of them. Let's go and celebrate the good news!"
We walked out into the hallway. Farrah stopped abruptly in the hall and stopped us with her arms.
"We need to make this amazing." she thought for a second. "Ok. This is what you're gonna do. Patrick, you should pick up Kel like...honeymoon style, and I'll introduce you two as you walk in the room. It'll be amazing, just trust me."
I shrugged as I handed the key to Farrah for her to open the door as I picked up Kel. "Hi." I said, looking at her, laying comfortably in my arms with her arms around my neck.
"Hi." she said, looking up at me with those dark brown eyes.
Farrah burst open the door and the guys all stopped to look at her. I could partially see their expressions past the door.
"MAY I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION, PLEASE!" she shouted.
The guys all looked at each other like, "What the fuck?"
"INTRODUCING, THE FUTURE MRS. PATRICK VAUGHN STUMP!"
I guessed that that was my cue, so I walked in with Kel in my arms, smiling so wide, I felt like my face was going to rip from happiness.
"NO WAY, DUDE! YOU DID IT!"
Kel looked at me with an eyebrow raised and a smirk. "They knew too?"
"I had to ask their permission, too. Some didn't take it too well at first. But they came around."
"Well, that's good. Or else we'd be in some deep shit, right?"
I set her feet back onto the ground, and I took her hand. "Most definitely, we would."
"WHOOO, GO TRICK!"
"I'M SO PROUD OF YOU MAN!"
"KISS HER! KISS HER! KISS HER!" Pete chanted from the corner.
Kel looked at me expectantly. "Well, you're not going to disappoint Pete are you?"
"Not a chance." I growled.
I pulled her hips close to mine and I went for it. It wasn't as sweet and gentle as our kiss at the restaurant, but it made up for it with heat. At first her hands were at my shoulders, grabbing them tightly, but they moved up as they started gently pulling at my hair. With instinct, I moved my hands from the back of her neck, moving them downward until they reached just above her backside. I spread my fingers out wide, teasing her with them, but never touching her ass once. The kiss finally came to an end. I looked over at Pete and he grinned. I proceeded to grin back and flip him off. "Well, look at that, Tricky's getting some action!"
Andy shook his head. "What kind of shitty celebration is this? Let's have a full blown party guys! Pizza, games, party stuff, you know?"
Joe nodded in agreement. "I'll order the pizza. Anybody want anything special?"
---------------
Keliah's POV
Farrah piped up from the doorway, "I want a pizza with a lot of pepperoni on it!"
Joe nodded. "Extra pepperoni it is, then." he flashed a smile towards Farrah that made her blush, I could tell. And Joe noticed, because he smirked in satisfaction as he grabbed his cellphone and dialed the number. The rest of us sat in the living room, scattered all over. Patrick sat at the end of the couch, Andy filled the seat next to him and Farrah sat on the other end next to Andy, right next to the chair that Pete was seated in. After seeing I didn't have a seat, Patrick quickly was about to give up his seat for me, and I told him not to move. I decided to sit on the floor in front of him, right between his legs. I grabbed onto one of his legs, sliding my hand up and down from his knee to his ankle. I seen Patrick flip off Pete again because Pete started motioning a hand job at his crotch. Pete seen Patrick flipping him off and he returned the motion, smirking the whole time. I rolled my eyes at the both of them.
"Really, you two." I said looking back and forth at both of them. "Are you serious? And no, Pete, I know what you were doing and I'm not gonna give Patrick a hand job." I paused and smirked back at Pete. "Not right now, at least."
I felt Patrick's leg tense up. I smiled at the reaction and moved my hand a bit high than the knee this time and I felt his hand lay on top of mine. A shock flashed through my spine when his hand touched mine.
"Shit, I almost forgot..." I heard him say. He quickly put his hand into his pocket, and pulled out the little box that had previously had the ring. He pulled the cushion out of the box and there was a gold band underneath that he got out and set aside. He put the cushion back in the box and stuffed it back into his pocket. I seen him grab the ring beside him again and slide it onto his left hand, ring finger. "There. Now it's totally official." he held up his left hand to show me the simple gold band on his finger. Pete giggled. "It looks gorgeous, dah-ling." he mocked. Andy then leaned over Farrah slightly and said to me, "Can I see your ring?" I held my hand out to him, and he was absolutely fascinated with it. "It definitely looks a lot more beautiful on a finger than in that box." Andy then leaned back again, sighing, glancing over at Farrah. With that, I turned around to Patrick and sat on my knees, giving me a perfect view straight in his eyes. I rested my hands close to his inner thighs, and I felt his legs tense up again. I smiled and said, "I'm gonna get something to drink from the kitchen."
"I'll come with you then. I gotta ask Joe something anyways."
I swayed my hips gently as I walked towards the kitchen, knowing his eyes would be fixated on me. I heard him speed up his walking as he grabbed me from behind and pulled me close. "You know what that does to me..." he growled in my ear, grinding himself against me. "Oh, yes....Yes, I do...." I whispered back and pressed my backside firmly to his hips. I heard him moan in my ear, and I smirked with satisfaction. After this party was over, he was all mine, he knew it, and I knew it. I took his hand and turned to face him, staying just centimeters away from him. "Now, come on...you have to wait until later..."
"Damn...what a shame..." he said, pushing his hips to mine again.
"Oh god, stop that..."
"Alright, alright....we can wait." he said, finally moving back a little. We proceeded to walk into the kitchen and Joe had just hung up the phone.
"Hey, lovebirds. What's up?"
I opened the fridge and grabbed a bottle of water. "Well, I came here for a bottle of water, but Trick wanted to ask you-"
Patrick finished my sentence. "-about who won your ridiculous game over Farrah."
Joe grabbed a beer from the fridge and shrugged. "Apparently the game doesn't want either of us to get her. I won the first round, Andy won the second, and -I don't know how it happened- but we tied."
"How the hell do you tie in Mario Kart, Joe?!?"
"I don't know! After we tried to watch a playback of it, the game crashed and we gave up."
I took a drink of my water. "There has to be a way for you to settle this." I raised my finger before either of them could respond. They looked at each other and shrugged as I walked down the hall back to the living room. Pete and Farrah were talking about something, and Andy was busy texting again. "Hey! ANDY! Come here for a second!" he looked up and followed me back to the kitchen.
I looked at Joe and Andy. "Alright, we're gonna settle this right now. Rock, Paper, Scissors style."
"Are you seriou-" Joe started to say. I raised my eyebrow. "Do you want to date Farrah or not?"
"Fine."
"Alright then. Best two out of three. Go."
Patrick and I leaned against the counter, watching the first two rounds. As I had expected, Andy won round one, Joe won round two. It was now down to this. Patrick crossed him arms and watched them with a smirk on his face. "Boy, am I glad I've never had to fight for a girl. It seems lengthy...and exhausting."
"Yeah, I agree. Even though...I've never had to fight over a girl either...because I am a girl..." I giggled and took another drink of water.
"ROCK, PAPER, SCISSORS!" they shouted. Patrick and I watched intently to see who was going to win.
Andy threw down Rock.
...
Joe threw down Scissors.
