Melody's POV
By the middle of the week I was still puking my guts out. I really needed to make a doctor's appointment and get some medicine for this shit. I was now lying in my bed feeling like total shit. I had just puked my entire lunch up or so I thought. Another wave of nausea hit me and I sprinted for my bathroom. My stomach lurched and I began spewing the contents of my stomach violently into my toilet. I gagged as the acid burned my throat and lips. I began to cry once again.
'What if Benji was right? What if in my drunken haze I had stupidly gotten myself knocked up? What the fuck would I do?'
Even though Frank was kind of a dick I still didn't want him to get into any trouble because of my stupid mistake.
"Mel?"
'Oh great, Benji is here. He's going to start nagging me again.'
"In here." I croaked. He appeared in the doorway.
"Throwing up again?"
"Yeah." I muttered bitterly.
"Don't be mad but I brought something to help clear this whole mess up."
"What?" I questioned suspiciously.
"A pregnancy test. Just take it and we'll finally know."
"Benji, I'm scared."
"I know you are but we need to know."
I sighed. "Okay. Give it to me."
"I'll be right out here."
He shut the door behind him. I read the directions on the insert. I did my business on the stick as directed then set it on the counter. It said to wait three minutes. I opened the door and walked out.
"Well?"
"I can't look."
"I'll do it." He pushed past me into the bathroom.
"Mel?"
"Y-Yeah?"
"It's negative." he smiled.
"Seriously?"
"Yes."
"Oh thank god." I sighed in relief.
"I know but we still need to make you an appointment to see what is really going on."
"I'll call them right now." I grinned happily.
I picked up my phone and dialed my doctor's office.
Ring. Ring. Ring.
"Dr. Sullivan's office. How may I help you?"
"Yes, I need to schedule an appointment."
"Your name?"
"Melody Harper."
"What do you need to be seen for?"
"I think I might have the stomach flu."
"Okay, how about tomorrow at ten thirty?"
"Sounds great."
"We'll see you then."
"Thank you."
"You are welcome."
I grinned as I hung up the phone and turned toward Benji.
"I have an appointment tomorrow at ten thirty."
"Since it's that early I think I'll just stay the night."
"Fine with me."
Benji and I lounged around for the rest of the day watching movies and playing video games while munching out on junk food. We finally tired out sometime later and decided it was time for bed.
Mikey's POV
I was lying in my bunk just thinking. It has been nearly four weeks since I last saw her but I can't shake her from my thoughts. She was beautiful and innocent and Frank had just shattered that in one lust filled night. He had probably ripped her world apart. And, he didn't even care. I watched night after night as he found some new girl to fulfill his desires. It made me sick then again I suppose I am just as sick as Frank. After all, I am laying here thinking about how hot a seventeen year old kid is.
I shook my head to try and rid myself of these thoughts but it didn't seem to help. For some reason, I just can't seem to help myself. I want to know her. I want to make her laugh. I want to make her smile. I want to kiss her. I want to hold her. I want to touch her.
I scoffed at myself.'What the hell is wrong with you, Mikey? You met this girl one time. You don't even know her. Plus, she is only seventeen. She's a kid for fuck sake. Get her out of your head.'
I sighed and rolled over in my bunk. I needed sleep.
Melody's POV
I woke to the blaring of my alarm clock. I rolled out of bed and woke Benji up. We dressed quickly then left for my doctor's office. Once there we sat patiently waiting for my name to be called.
"So, how are you and Zac doing?"
"Great actually. I really like him." Benji replied with a smile.
"That's great. He's a total sweetheart unlike your last boyfriend."
"Yeah, Josh was an asshole." he agreed.
"Melody Harper?" a nurse called.
"That's me."
Benji and I followed her into an empty room where she directed us to have a seat until the doctor came. While we waited Benji childishly played with the medical instruments and pretended to examine me while I laughed at his antics. A few minutes later Dr. Sullivan entered the room.
"Hello Melody. How are you feeling today?" he greeted.
"Hi Dr. Sullivan. Not too bad but I've been throwing up. I think I might have the stomach flu."
"Hmm. Well, we will draw some blood for the lab and see what's going on."
"Eh, okay."
Dr. Sullivan called the nurse back in to take some blood from me. I winced as the needle sank into my arm and the blood filled the tube. Once she was done she told us to wait here while she delivered the vial to the lab for examination. We waited for about thirty minutes before Dr. Sullivan came back.
"Well, Melody I'm afraid it's not the stomach flu."
"Then what could it possibly be?"
"I'm afraid you are pregnant." he frowned.
My jaw dropped. This had to be a mistake. I couldn't be pregnant.
"B-But I took a pregnancy test and it came back negative."
"Well, sometimes at home pregnancy tests can be inaccurate but I'm afraid blood tests do not lie."
I burst into tears and Benji tried to console me.
"Mel, I'm sorry."
"Are you the father young man?"
"Oh god no. I am her cousin."
"Well Melody, you are going to need to make an appointment to have an ultrasound done. They will check to see how far along you are and they'll check the health of the baby."
"Y-Yes sir."
I left the office in tears. Benji directed me to his car and helped me in.
"It'll be okay. We'll figure this out together."
"How will this be okay? I'm only seventeen and I'm pregnant. And it's not just anyone's baby, it's Frank Iero's."
"I know Mel. I'll figure this out. I promise."
