3 years later.......

Emily sat down at her desk and sighed, she was tired and getting to work these days seem harder and harder.

“Emily we have a band coming in today, they are very important and I need to make sure things will go smoothly” said her boss Ben,
Emily nodded as she handed him a folder

“I have made sure the conference room is empty for the whole day,

there are people coming bringing a wide range of food and drinks for everyone and the contracts are being delivered this morning straight to me, so I will get them to you as soon as I have them” said Emily as she pushed her worries out of her head

“You’re a champion” he said as he walked away, Emily smiled as she caught up with the messages that were left, Emily looked up from her desk and froze as she saw Jack walking past her, she took a look around and then noticed Mikey, her heart pounded in her heart as he glanced around the room, Emily felt her stomach drop as he looked at her and then to the person in front of him, Emily slowly stood up and quickly walked into her bosses office, he looked up and saw the worried look on her face

“You okay?” he asked, Emily nodded

“Just saw someone I didn’t really want to speak too” she said, Ben nodded as he stood up
“Is the band here?” he asked, Emily nodded as his phone rang which Emily grabbed
“I will be right down” she said and hung up , Ben looked up
“The contracts are here, I will go and collect them” she said,

Ben nodded as they both walked out of the office, Ben walked into the board room as Emily walked down the hall and bumped into someone, she looked up and froze as Mikey had his hands on her arm

“Emily” he said softly, Emily looked at him
“Hi Mikey” she said softly, Mikey looked as shocked as she was
“What are you doing here at Reprise?” he asked as Emily shifted her eyes
“I work here” she replied, Mikey nodded

“What happened? Where have you been? We have all been worried” he said, Emily shook her head
“I can’t do this here Mikey, we can talk later if you want” she said as she saw Frank walking into the board room, Mikey nodded and handed her his phone
“Put your number in here and I will call you when we are finished here” he said, Emily nodded as she put her number in his phone

“I have to go Mikey, talk to you later” she said softly as she started to walk down the hall, Mikey nodded to himself,

“Later it is” he replied as he turned and walked into the board room. Gerard looked up at Mikey as he walked in and saw the shocked looked on his face
“Looks like you saw a ghost” he said, Mikey looked at him and nodded as he sat down, Gerard stared at him
“What is it?” he pressed, Mikey sighed
“I just saw an old friend that’s all” he said, Gerard nodded as there was a knock on the door, Ben stood up and opened a door a bit, Emily took a step back as she handed Ben the contracts
“Thanks Emily” he said and closed the door, Gerard immediately looked up when he heard that name, Mikey shook his head

“Sit down” he said softly, Gerard took a deep breath and sat back down as the meeting started.

Emily looked at the clock and sighed, she had missed lunch before, she stood up and grabbed her things, looked around the office and then turned off the lights to Ben’s office and walked down the corridor, Emily pressed a button on the elevator and waited, she slowly walked in as it opened.


Emily stepped out of the elevator and walked to the reception
“Hey Emily, how was your day?” the lady asked, Emily smiled
“The same as usual” she replied, the lady laughed
“He has been very good today” she said as they walked back the front doors together, Emily smiled

“Thank you for looking after him” she replied as Emily saw him, He looked up and ran to her as Emily picked him up in his arms

“Mummy has missed you so much today” she said as she hugged her son, he laughed and squeezed her tightly

“Mummy I missed you too” he said as Emily let him go and grabbed his hand
“Thanks again for today” she said to the lady, she smiled and waved as Emily and her son walked out to the front, Emily smiled as her son kept talking about his day and asking questions.
Emily unlocked the car and helped him into the car

“Mummy, I want to have chips for dinner” he said as Emily opened her door, she laughed and then looked around as she heard the front doors being opened, she froze when she saw Gerard stepping outside and looked around

“Mummmy” her son screamed which made Gerard look their way, he froze when he saw her as Emily quickly got into her car and started the engine, Gerard took a step closer as Emily reversed out of the car park and drove rather quickly away.

Mikey stepped out as he saw the red car drive away; he looked at Gerard and sighed
“Everything alright?” he asked, Gerard jumped
“I think I just saw Emily” he said softly, Mikey froze and tried to breath
“But it wasn’t her, she had a child in the car” he said, Mikey jumped as he heard the word child
“Ready to get going?” asked Mikey, Gerard turned around and nodded as Frank and everyone else walked outside with Ben

“I will get my assistant to contact you when everything is settled, but other than that we have a deal” said Ben, Gerard looked at him and nodded.
Mikey pulled out his phone and dialled a number, he looked at Gerard and took a few steps away from him

“Hello” said the person who he dialled
“Hey Emily, it’s me Mikey” he replied, Emily laughed
“So you ready for that talk?” she asked, Mikey sighed as Gerard looked at him
“Yeah I am, Can I meet you at your place, Gerard is staying with me at the moment” he said, Emily sighed

“Sure” she said and told him her address, Mikey wrote it down and stuffed it in his pocket and hung up
“Going out?” asked Gerard, Mikey looked up and nodded as he pulled out his keys
“Seeing an old friend?” he asked, Mikey looked at him
“Yeah I am, I will see you all later” he said and walked to his car, Gerard looked at him and sighed


“Frank I need help” he said as Frank looked at him and nodded as he got into Frank’s car and followed Mikey to where he was going.
Mikey pulled up and quickly glanced around and then walked to the door, he knocked softly and waited
“Hey” said Emily as she let Mikey into her apartment, Mikey smiled as Emily shut the door behind him

“Come in I am just serving dinner, if you would like to join us?” she asked, Mikey frowned
“You have company?” he asked, Emily shook her head
“You will see, so let’s get this over with” she said as Emily led Mikey into the dining room, Mikey gasped when he saw the little boy eating some potato’s
“Mum, who is this?” He asked looking up and grinned, Mikey couldn’t help but smile
“I am Mikey, your mum’s friend” he said as the both sat down, Emily smiled and looked at him
“What’s your son’s name?” asked Mikey, Emily smiled

“This is Zach” she said as Zach looked up and grinned, Mikey laughed at the little boy and turned back to look at Emily

“Emily, he looks so much like Gerard it isn’t funny” he said, Emily sighed
“I know, he does” she replied as she looked at her dark haired son as he reached for her,

“He acts like his father too always demanding” she said, smiling at him, Mikey laughed
“So what happened Emily?” he asked, Emily sighed

“It’s a long story” she said as Emily got up and grabbed a banana, she peeled it and handed it to Zach, Zach smiled and took it as he shoved it in his face

“Well we slept together, I left, Found out I was pregnant six weeks later and then started work at Reprise records to earn some money for when Zach arrived, Ben helped me a lot, gave me babysitting and everything to help me get by” she said, Mikey frowned as Zach looked around
“Mum” he said, Emily looked at Zach and saw him rub his eyes, Emily sighed
“Let me put this little one to bed and then we can talk some more” she said, Mikey nodded as he finished his dinner

“You cook like mum” he said as Emily picked up Zach,
“Well she did teach me” she replied

“I will be right back soon” she said as she walked up the stairs.
Emily saw Mikey sitting in the lounge room as she entered the room
“What are you going to do?” he asked, Emily took a deep breath and shook her head
“I don’t know Mikey” she replied as a knock on the door made them jump, Emily looked at Mikey who shrugged as she walked to the door, She took another breath and opened the door




“Gerard” she stammered, Mikey stood up
