I'm awake in the afternoon
I fell asleep in the living room
It's one of those moment
When everything is so clear
She cried as he pushed her our with a hard shove making her fall to her knees.
He threw out the packed luggage and slammed the door.
She looked back at the house from which she was kicked from and let out a sob.
Before the truth goes back into hiding
I want to decide cuz' it's worth deciding
To work on finding something more than this fear
It takes so much out of me to pretend
Tell me now, tell me how to make amends
She stood and wiped the snow off of her pants and grabbed her luggage. She quickly took out her coat and threw it on,her face cold and wet with tears.
She sniffed wiping it away and started to walk down the sidewalk.
Maybe,I need to see the daylight
To leave behind this half-life
Don't you see I'm breaking down
Lately,something here don't feel right
This is just a half-life
Is there really no escape
No escape from time
Of any kind
She had been rejected from every house she went to.She needed a place to stay or she would get sick.
Being out at night with a light coat in New York is not the kind of thing anybody wants to do.
Especially during winter.
She finally came to her last house on the tenth block she was on and knocked on the door.
The door opened and a woman came out with a smile until she saw her.
She sniffed and began to talk when the sickfinally caught up with her.
She fell to the ground with a thud unconciously. The woman gasped and fell to the floor to check her.
I keep trying to understand
This thing and that thing,my fellow man
I guess I'll let you know
When I figure it out
But I don't mind a few mysteries
They can stay that way,it'sfine by me
And you are another mystery I am missing
It takes so much out of me to pretend
She now lay on the couch inside the warm house of the unknown woman and waking up.
Her vision was blurred and she was feeling awful.
A woman stood close to her talking with a man about her.The woman was telling the man to let her stay overnight.
The man was arguing about it.
Maybe,I need to see the daylight
To leave behind this half-life
Don't you see I'm breaking down
Lately,something here don't feel right
This is just a half-life
Is there really no escape
No escape from time
Of any kind
She tried to sit up,but she immediately felt the pain rush through her body. She felt absolutely awful. She must have been up all night looking for somewhere to stay.
She must have gotten sick.
She tried to speak, but the yelling voices drowned hers out.
Come on,let's fall in love
Come on,let's fall in love
Come on,let's fall in love
Again
Cuz' lately, something here don't feel right
This is just a half-life
Without you I'm breaking down
The man finally agreed and left the room muttering. The woman walked to her and bent down to her.
The woman felt her head and pulled away with a shake of her head.
She then suddenly put a wet cloth on her head.
Wake me,let me see the daylight
Save me from this half-life
Lets you and I escape
Escape from time
The woman began to take off her coat and wrapped her in a couple blankets.
"Can you tell me your name?"
She started to talk but her throat was dry.
The woman quickly bought her water.
Come on,let's fall in love
Come on,let's fall in love
Come on,let's fall in love
Again
"My name is Layla Jones."
