Bobbette sighed, her lips turning to a frown. How can I top that? She asked herself in desperation. Her brother had just presented his gift to their mother for Mother's Day. The gold necklace sparkled with diamonds at the base of the necklace in a heart shaped pattern. Damon always flaunted his wealth with his gifts. He'd been well off ever since he got his first job. Their mother, Ruth, had wide eyes, her amazement at having been given such a beautiful gift showing clearly. A sigh came again from the youngest daughter. Her twin, Conquest, came to stand beside her. They both inwardly glared at their twenty year old brother. Without a word the twin girls turned around and went to their room.

Bobbette and Conquest sat on their own beds and stared at eachother. Each was thinking about what to get their mother for a gift. Sighing, Bobbette laid down on her bed, brown hair splaying across her pillow. Conquest came over to her and jumped onto her bed, making the laying girl bounce.

"Conni, what are we gonna do?" Bobbette groaned, brown eyes closing as she rubbed her face in her pillow.

"Don't know Bobbi," The other brown haired girl said, "but we better think of something fast!" Sitting up, the younger of the two raised an eyebrow.

"Well unless you have some fantastic ideas just lurking behind your eyes Conni," Bobbette paused for effect, "then we're screwed!" Conquest scowled at her sister's lack of faith.

"Bobbi, have I ever let you down?" The other girl shook her head, "Then have some faith in me." Conquest's brown eyes glazed over in what seemed to be mischeviousness to her identical twin sister.

"Conni, what are you thinking?" Bobbette had hopefullness in her voice, she couldn't help but hope that Conquest had an idea.

"So here's what I'm thinking..." The twins leaned close together as the older twin whispered her idea into her sister's ear. The girls giggled maniacally before breaking out into complete hysterics.

"Oh boy! I can't wait!" Bobbette trilled happily. "Always knew you had a brain in that head of yours!" Her tone was teasing and Conquest returned the tease with a gentle push.

"Do you think that Damon will suspect?" Conquest asked her sister. Bobbette thought about it for a moment.

"Possibly, but he's a pretty thick headed boy, so we won't have to worry too much." The two girls giggled insanely again before giving eachother a high five.

"I love the way you think Bobbi," Conquest stated to her sister, a smirk spreading across her pink lips.

"I love the way you think too Conni," Without further ado, the twins continued to plan carefully.

OoOoOoOoOoOo

Noon had quickly approached and the girls took time away from their planning to provide fuel for their bodies. The identical twins bounded out of their room, brown hair bouncing and brown eyes gleaming. Suspicious looks were shot their way from their father but they were generally dismissed as just being energetic. Rummaging through the fridge, Conquest and Bobbette searched for lunch.

"So what are you two doing for Mom today?" The question came from their older brother Damon who still looked self satisfied from pleasing their mother with his gift. The twins looked at eachother and grinned. A shrug from Bobbette. Silence permeated the room. Eyebrows raised.

"What are you two up to now?" Ruth asked, one eyebrow raised high. Conquest grinned broader than before.

"Oh nothing, just being lovely little daughters of course." Her suger sweet voice just caused more suspicion.

"Now you must tell." Conquest and Bobbette just kept on grinning at their mother.

"It's a surprise!" The twins said at the same time.

"Just as long as nothing bad happens I guess I can live with not knowing." Ruth gave in with a small sigh. The twins grinned yet again ate their lunch quickly. As soon as they were finished they headed back to their room to finish planning. The two girls knitpicked their plan until they were satisfied with each little aspect, only to find that time had flown by faster than they thought possible. Nightime had arrive and they were going out for a family dinner and their plan would take place tomorrow. Because of the family's hectic schedule they were technically celebrating Mother's Day tomorrow even though they were treating their mother special today.

The two girls dressed in matching attire, however, the colors were different. Conquest put on a blue peasant skirt and a white v-neck blouse while Bobbette wore the same, though her skirt was black and her blouse red. The girls took turns french braiding their long, curly hair before putting on their make up. Finishing their outfits with a pair of strappy sandals, Conquest's white and Bobbette's black, they exited their room and headed towards the living room. Everyone was ready and waiting with the exception of their older brother Damon. The twins looked at eachother knowingly. Their brother was known for making an entrance. He lived for it. When he finally did come out of his room, his blonde hair was slicked back and he was dressed in a button down white shirt and black dress pants. He even had on dress shoes. The girls rolled their eyes.

"Sorry for making you guys wait, I wanted to look perfect." Damon stated this without any shame whatsoever. The girls considered him a fop. Shrugging off their brother's vanity, the family left the house and went to a nice italian restaurant. Dinner went by quickly, it was uneventful and slightly boring for the girl's who longed for action and movement to appease their never ending energy.

When they finally made it back to the house it was late and the girl's went straight to their rooms to get ready for bed. Taking turns, they each took a shower and changed into their pajamas. After they were finished they lay in their beds and stared at the ceiling with boredom written on their faces.

"Do you think our plan will work?" Conquest asked her sister. Bobbette stared at her with a look that said 'duh!'

"Of course it'll work Conni, nothing we can think up could possibly go wrong." The statement seemed to make sense to the girls, so when they fell asleep, it was easy and dreamless.

OoOoOoOoOoOo

Morning came to soon for the girls and they couldn't help but long for just one more hour of sleep. As they sluggishly prepared for school they went over their plan for tonight. They couldn't help but smile as they thought about their wonderful idea. Just the thought of ruining their brother's perfect life made them giggle with glee. From below, Ruth yelled at her daughter's that breakfast was prepared. Skipping from their rooms they ate quickly and rushed off to school. School dragged on during class periods, but in between classes they talked with their friends that were allied with them against their brother about their plan.

"Are you sure you guys should do that?" Elaine, one of their more cautious friends asked, "It dosn't sound very nice."

"Why do you worry so much Elli?" Conquest asked, obviously peeved at her friends lack of faith, "Don't you trust us to do the most amazing things ever?"

"No 'Quest, I trust you two to make fools of yourselves and end up hurting." This was the first time Elaine had truly spoken up about how she felt and the twins were shocked.

"Elaine!" The twins exclaimed at the same time.

"I'm just being honest you two, you guys are my friends and I love you," Her voice softened, "I just wish you'd use more judgement sometimes." The bell rang for their next class and they swiftly gathered their books and walked away, still shocked from what their friend told them.

OoOoOoOoOoOo

School ended at 3:30 in the afternoon and the girls were more than happy to head home. They walked in silence, most of their friends lived on the opposite side of the school so they ended up walking alone most days. Conquest and Bobbette had been strangely quiet since Elaine's out burst at school. They both could hardly handle the fact that their friend had been so brutally honest.

"Do you think she meant what she said Bobbi?" Conquest's voice was unnaturally soft as she spoke. Her brown eyes glancing around hesitantly.

"I think so Conni." They were quiet for some time more before Bobbette spoke again. "Whether she meant it or not, we have a plan to see carried through." Conquest nodded her head, no matter what happened, she always agreed with her twin. As they reached their house they went straight to their rooms and started on their homework. They had to get it all done or else they wouldn't be let out of the house tonight.

Before they knew it, seven o'clock had swung by and they had to prepare for their escapades. Dressing in black capris and dark green t-shirts, they pulled their hair back in ponytails and put sneakers on. They rushed out of their room and peeked from the hallway to see if their brother and mother had left yet. They had just stepped outside the door when they peeked. Turning to eachother, they grinned mischeviously before following to the front windows to look outside. Ruth and Damon stepped into the car and pulled out of the driveway. Running back down the hallway, they went into their older brother's room and checked for his datebook.

Damon was a meticulous person, he always made sure to have every event in his life marked down in his datebook, so that if by any chance he became famous he'd feel important by having to check his calender. Bobbette opened the book up to the date marked for today and searched for Damon's night out with Ruth. Finding what she was searching for she pointed it out to Conquest and smiled. The girls hopped up and left the house on their bicycles, leaving the datebook up to the world. It read,

May 14, Mother's Day
Night out w/ mother @ 7pm
Donohue's Pizzeria

OoOoOoOoOoOo

Bobbette and Conquest hid in a back booth of the pizzeria. Luckily, they knew Mr. Donohue and he was more than willing to let them come in through the back door. Slipping into the kitchen, they listened to watch Damon and Ruth ordered on their pizza and smiled. Bobbette was more than happy to provide a distraction for the person making their pizza while Conquest pulled out a plastic carton of jalapeno sauce and mixed it into the sauce. The girls then slipped out of the kitchen and back into the booth innocently while waiting for their prank to come into effect.

The pizza was finally served and they couldn't help but grin broadly as Damon took the first bite. His lips curled unpleasantly as he tasted the jalapeno before he placed his pizza slice down. He grabbed his mouth in pain as he felt the jalapeno's full effect.

"I have to use the restroom!" He whispered quite loudly as he rushed from the table towards the restroom. The girls giggled quietly at first but much louder when their brother emerged, only this time, covered in hives.

"Oh Damon!" Their mother exclaimed, "You're having an allergic reaction!" The girls quieted then, how could they have forgotten that he was allergic to jalapenos? Forgetting that their mother had no clue they were there, the twins rushed to the other table and grabbed Damon.

"You have to..." Conquest started.

"Get to the doctor!" Bobbette finished. The twins realized a moment too late the fault in their planning.

"Whoops." They said at once before their mother grabbed them both by the ears and dragged them out of the pizzeria.

"Conquest Gloria and Bobbette Annabelle!" She started, voice almost screechy. "If this wasn't a medical emergency I would take you two straight home!" Instead of doing what she wanted, she pushed her three children into the car and headed for the hospital. The whole way there she screamed at her daughters for their prank on their brother. When they finally reached the hospital, they all piled into the lobby. Damon was immediately taken into a room and the remaining two stayed in the lobby while their mother went to call their father.

Returning to her daughters, Ruth looked at them critically. They had the shame to look upset with what they had done. Silently sitting in the lobby, they said not a word.

"I hope you two are happy with yourselves!" Their mother yelled as quietly as she could, she had tears in her eyes and her cheeks were red. "What was the meaning of this prank?" She sounded so exhausted.

"We didn't mean to hurt anybody mom." Bobbette stated, her eyes tearing up. She hated it when her mother yelled at her.

"We really didn't." Conquest said as well. Ruth shook her head violently before throwing her hands in the air.

"But why?" She asked, "Why intentionally hurt someone on today of all days?"

"We just wanted to show up Damon, we forgot he was allergic." Conquest sounded so pitiful.

"But why?" Their mother insisted for an answer.

"He's got it so easy, he's always so perfect and then everything that we do seems like nothing compared. For once, we wanted to come out on top instead of him." Bobbette turned away, her brown eyes were flooded with regret.

"I guess we pushed it too far." Conquest sighed with devestation.

"You're right, you did." Ruth dropped her sour tone and crouched down next to her sitting daughters. "I love you two, you are my own flesh and blood. Anything you give to me is worth everything because I know that it's given with love." She embraced them sadly, tears tempting to pour. "I don't need sparkling diamonds or beautiful jewelry girls, all I need is your love." They sat quietly for a while before Bobbette spoke.

"I guess that's something we can give to you that's priceless..."

"Yeah, better than jewelry any day." Conquest finished. The trio couldn't help but laugh at the hilarity of the moment. "Oh and mom?"

"Yes Conni?"

"Happy Mother's day!" The twins grinned happily and hugged her tight.
