Alexis POV
I watched him leave, I watched him walk out the door. I couldn’t believe it what happened? What changed? I looked down at my feet he walked away from me.
The sound of someone speaking brought me out of my thoughts. “Well that was awkward.” Said Christian sitting up and stretching.
I looked at him; I forgot he was even here. I started to remember some parts of last night, I had to sleep on the sofa because people were in my room and doing God knows what! Storm was on one of the sofas, to confirm that I looked other at Storm who was now sitting up yawning. So I went and slept on the bigger sofa, with Christian. Then it hit me like a ton of bricks. Frank must have seen me asleep with Christian and who knows what that would’ve looked like.
No! I’m so stupid! But I wasn’t doing anything wrong I was just sleeping, Yeah with another man!
Shut up! I mentally screamed at my thoughts.
Taylor stood in front of me waving a hand in my face “Are you alright Lex? You look kinda pale, maybe you should sit down” said my concerned friend, I looked at her and gave a weak smile.
“Yeah Lex sit down.” Repeated Christian as he reached out to grab my wrist. Seeing this I snatched my arm away, I didn’t want him to touch me. I felt bad enough.
And without warning or control over my own body I ran, I ran straight out of the door, and I ran straight after him. After Frank. I couldn’t let him go, not without an explanation. I wasn’t sure why this mattered so much to me but it did and that was reason enough. The ground beneath my feet was cold; I ran down the steps practically jumping the last one and flew out into the street. A cold gust of wind blew and sent chills down my body, I forgot I was still in my dress I must have looked a mess, but I didn’t care.
Straight ahead of my I saw two figures; one was on the phone pacing on the path whilst the other was slouched against the hood kicking at the dirt. My heart skipped a beat; he was still here.
As if he could hear my thoughts he lifted his head up in my direction and stared at me for a moment before standing up straight and walking to the driver’s side of the car. Shit!
“Frank, please…wait!” I ran across the path and up the grass verge toward the car like a maniac. I could feel my neighbours starring, great, just great.
Frank sighed and turned around his face was expressionless and his words hurt more than the sting of the icy cold wind. “Go back to your flat Alexis your making a fool out of your self.”
I stopped dead at his words; it was like he punched me in the face. I could feel a familiar stinging in my eyes, I couldn’t take it, I promised I would never cry in front of a man again. I pushed my memories to the back of my mind and tried to blink through my blurred vision.
“Don’t talk to me like that!” I balled my hands into fists; it was easier to be angry than to show him how much his words hurt. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Bob put his phone in his pocket and look at Frank. From behind me I heard footsteps, I guess I gathered an audience, perfect.
Frank looked down gripping the door of the car, “Fine, Lex can you please go back home.” He put emphasis on the please, but I noticed he sounded very worn out and dejected. I remembered why he left last night; there was an accident with Ray, Mikey and Bob. I looked at Bob more closely he had a few cuts on his hands, but apart from that he looked fine.
“No, I cant do that.” Frank looked up at me with a crease in his fore head; he had bags under his eyes and looked like he was going to pass out. “Not until you hear me out,” I continued taking a step toward him. “It sounds stupid but its not what you think, believe me please.” I walked toward him and touched his arm. He was wearing a leather jacket that fitted snugly around his body, showing off his defined muscles.
He looked at my hand “I want to believe you, but I don’t know.” He looked at my face.
“Is that the girl you take me for then? Do you think that I’m some kind of girl who goes for the first guy I see? Because I’m not. Nothing happened and in fact nothing will happen between Christian and me. I just fell asleep next to him that’s all. ” I looked at him pleading with my eyes, willing him to understand. “Haven’t you ever made a mistake?” For some reason that seemed to get him. He looked me in the eyes as if searching for the truth.
“We have to go, we have to prepare for tonight’s show with our temporary guitar player.” He shrugged and smiled weakly.
“How is everyone?” I asked in a small voice.
“Rays only got a sprained wrist so he cant play for the time being and Mikey and Bob are fine.” He replied gesturing to Bob.
“That’s good. Me and Taylor have tickets for tonight's show, so good luck.” He smiled his first genuine smile of the day.
“Good it will be nice to see you there.” He turned to get in the car. I was so confused did he believe me? Was he still angry? Was I angry with him? Hell no! But most importantly I wanted him to tell me he believed me or he was sorry.
I took a step back onto the path just as he turned around and grabbed my wrist. “No.” he said
“No?” I repeated confused.
He pulled me toward him and whispered, “No, I don’t think you’re that kind of girl.” He breathed and I felt it on my exposed neck “I’m sorry, I’ll make it up to you. I promise.” He let go and took a step back and smiled weakly “Believe me.” he said as he got into his car and started to drive off.
I watched him drive off; I felt a wave of de’ja vu. I was always watching him leave. In the coffee shop, last night, this morning and right now. My thoughts were soon distracted from these thoughts when I remembered what he said. He was sorry. No guy had ever admitted he was sorry. It felt nice. It felt right.
An arm circled my waist making me jump. It was Taylor, how did she always know when I needed here the most without me even realising it. I turned and hugged her tightly. We pulled apart and I realised I was crying when she wiped the tears from my face. Without a word she gripped my hand and walked me back to our flat. i looked at her and said "He believed me." a smile spread across her face.
"Damn straight he believed you, or i would have kicked his ass!" I laughed and swung our entwined hands in the air.
Franks POV
“Dude…” Bob started but I cut him off before he could finish.
“Don’t you dare say it.” I could sense what was coming.
“Too late dumbass it’s coming. I told you so! I knew nothing was going on but you couldn’t help but go off on one.” He said looking smugly at me.
“Can you blame me? after what Natasha did to me I think I have a right to be a bit weary of what women do.” I said looking over at Bob.
“Yeah your right, but she’s not Natasha. You can’t just assume that she’s doing wrong without an explanation.” I simply grunted in response.
I knew he was right but I couldn’t help it Natasha was my wife one of my few loves; I thought we would be together forever. Cheesy I know. Then I saw what she was really like, when I caught her cheating on me with our neighbour. I pushed the memories to the back of my mind. I didn’t want to go back there, not ever again.
“See I’m right.” Continued Bob, he looked at me and saw my fists tighten on the steering wheel. “Look Frank you have to let go, move on with your life. If you want my advice don’t get into anything serious with that girl just yet. Have some fun live a little more. We miss the old Frank, all of us do.” I sighed I knew he was right I was being unfair to the guys; they were my family I loved them and they loved me. I smiled and looked at Bob. God I hated it when he was right, but I knew what I had to do.
“Hey look there’s a drive through!” I shouted whilst performing a quick U turn in the middle of the road making Bob jump a foot high in his seat. I laughed at his reaction.
“Hey I’ve recently been in a car accident you know? Go easy on me I’m fragile!” he said straightening the collar on his jacket.
“Fragile? Really Bob, anyway I’m taking your advice I’m moving on and going back to the old Frankie.” I said grinning at him.
He groaned at me and rolled his eyes “Now you decide to take my advice and your buying and I want a milkshake!”
“Strawberry?” I asked trying to suppress my laughter.
“Is there any better flavour?” he asked sarcastically, I could tell he was trying to keep a straight face. We looked at each other for a while and suddenly burst into laughter. I laughed so hard it hurt, but it felt so good.
I knew I could always count on Bob to cheer me up. “Thanks man, I needed that.”
“Any time bro, but seriously where’s my milkshake!”
I watched him leave, I watched him walk out the door. I couldn’t believe it what happened? What changed? I looked down at my feet he walked away from me.
