Melody's POV
The scent of fresh cut grass and lavender swirled around me, invading my nostrils. Warm beams of sunshine kissed my pale cheeks. Lush green grass tickled my arms and legs. My eyes remained closed as I smiled to myself. A breeze ruffled my hair gently and cooled my sun-kissed skin. A familiar giggle filled my ears and my face split into a wide grin. A warm body pressed lightly into my own and calloused fingers caressed my cheek gently. Soft lips meshed with mine and my heart beat erratically in my chest. My arms wrapped around his back and I hugged him close to my chest. His fingers stroked through my messy hair. Our lips parted and my eyelids fluttered open to meet with a pair of twinkling, hazel orbs. He smiled and my heart melted in my chest.
"I love you." He murmured.
I sighed happily. "And I love you."
Another childish giggle filled my ears and my smile faltered momentarily. This giggle wasn't his. This giggle was fainter, more childish, more melodic. He stood and smiled at me with an outstretched hand.
"She's waiting."
I looked at him in confusion. He only smiled warmly so I took his hand and let him pull me to my feet. He wrapped an arm around my waist and led me further into the field of flowers. As we ventured further into the lush meadow the giggles grew louder, echoing around us. I gasped as my eyes finally found the source of the melodic laughter.
Just a few feet away from us was a little girl in a pale yellow dress. She twirled and danced happily through the lush green grass. Her long, dark hair flowed freely through the breeze and rays of sun illuminated her pale skin. She turned toward us and I gasped as a familiar pair of twinkling hazel orbs stared back at me. She was beautiful. She smiled widely and ran toward us with open arms. Her voice echoed through the meadow as she called out to us.
"Mommy! Daddy!"
My eyes flew open in shock and I bolted upright in bed when I felt a hand on my shoulder shaking me awake and startling me from my dream.
"Mel, are you okay?"
"Y-Yeah, sorry, Mikey. I was just having a really bizarre dream."
"Oh, okay. It's time to get up. I need to ask you something."
"What's up?"
"I have some errands to take care of today so I won't be here. Do you want to come with me or do you think you are comfortable enough to stay here alone with Gerard?"
"I'll be okay, Mikey."
"Are you sure?" I don't want you to feel uncomfortable."
"No, it's fine. I'll be fine."
"Okay but you'll call me if you need me?"
"Yeah."
"Gerard will be here in about thirty minutes and I have to get going. Just call me if you decide you don't want to be here."
"I will. Thanks, Mikey."
He smiled and ruffled my hair to which I scoffed. "I probably won't return until late this afternoon unless you need me."
"That's okay, I'll be fine."
"Okay. I'll see you later, Mel."
"Bye Mikey."
Mikey left the room and I flopped back against my pillows. I sighed heavily as I ran my hands over my face. Images from my dream flashed through my mind and I groaned. That fucking dream was intense and weird. It left me wondering about that little girl. She was so beautiful. She looked so much like Frank it was unreal. She even had his giggle. I rubbed my hand over my swollen stomach as I wondered if she would really look that much like her father.
I heard the door open and then close, signaling Mikey's departure. I finally rolled out of bed and headed into the bathroom. I took a quick shower, brushed my teeth, and then dressed. I threw my hair into a messy bun and made my way into the kitchen where I fixed myself a bowl of cereal. After breakfast I flopped onto the couch and watched tv until I heard the front door open and close. I glanced over to see Gerard standing there, looking slightly awkward.
"Hey Mel."
"Hey Gee."
"So, um...sorry about yesterday." He mumbled.
I clicked the tv off and sighed as I sat up.
"It's okay, Gee. Let's just get started, okay?" He nodded.
We made it through my History lesson by half past ten and moved on to Calculus. By noon we had finished and took a break for lunch. We ate a quick meal of sandwiches and chips before continuing on to Anatomy. Another two hours passed us by before we finished up.
"Well, since you have already finished your book I suppose we are done for today."
"Yep."
"I guess I am free to go then."
"Yep."
Gerard stood and I followed him to the front door. He turned and waved awkwardly at me before reaching for the knob. I only smiled back at him as he opened the door and stepped through. I closed and locked the door behind him and started back toward the living room when there was a knock on the door. I opened it and my eyebrows furrowed in confusion when I was met with the sight of Gerard standing before me.
"Gee, what are-"
I was cut off when he stepped over the threshold, kicking the door closed behind him and cupped my face in his hands, slamming our lips together. My back connected with the wall behind me and I gasped in surprise against his mouth. He took that opportunity to snake his tongue into my mouth and I couldn't help but let him.
I could barely think straight let alone stop him. Oddly, I didn't want to stop him. It had been so long since I had been touched like this and I liked it. I liked the feel of someone's lips on mine. I liked the feel of someone's skin caressing mine.
His lips detached from mine as he planted butterfly kisses along my jaw and down to my throat. My hands fisted into the front of his shirt as I let out a low moan. He planted soft kisses up the side of my neck, stopping just below my ear. My skin tingled with want. My blood boiled with lust. His hot breath tickled the shell of my ear.
"You are so beautiful, Mel. So fucking beautiful."
"Fuck....Gerard....I...."
I didn't get a chance to finish that thought before I heard a familiar voice just outside the front door. I pushed Gerard away just before Mikey stepped through the front door and had a chance to catch us.
"Oh, hey. Are you leaving, Gee?"
"Uh, yeah. We're done for the day."
"Okay. I'll see you tomorrow then?"
"Yeah. See you tomorrow, Mikey. Bye Mel."
"Bye Gee."
I sighed heavily after Gerard disappeared out the door.
"You okay, Mel?"
"Huh? Oh yeah, fine."
"Are you sure? He didn't try anything, did he?"
"What? Oh, no." I lied.
Mikey narrowed his eyes at me. "You sure?"
I plastered a fake smile on my face. "Yep."
Mikey sighed in relief. "Good. Are you hungry?"
"Always." He chuckled.
"Alicia is on the way and she's bringing Chinese."
I grinned. "Yum."
Once Alicia arrived we ate dinner and then I retired to my room to give them some privacy. As I lay in bed, waiting for Frank to call, my head buzzed frantically in my skull. I was so fucking confused about what had happened with Gerard. It felt so good but it didn't feel right. I felt like I was betraying everyone. I was lying to Frank and Mikey. My heart felt like it was being torn in a million different directions. I was snapped out of my thoughts when my phone buzzed beside me. It was Frank, of course.
"Hey, Frankie."
"Hey, Mel. How are you feeling today?"
"I'm okay. How are things going in LA?"
"Not bad but I can't wait to come home. I hate it here."
I sighed. "I know, me too."
"How's my little girl today?"
I smiled and ran a hand over my stomach.
"She's been active today but I think she's sleeping right now."
"Can I sing to her?"
"Yeah." I put my phone on speaker and lay it on my stomach. "Okay, go ahead."
My heart nearly melted in my chest as Frank's voice drifted through the speaker. I felt a few swift kicks to my abdomen just below the phone.
"I think she misses her daddy. She's kicking for you."
"Daddy loves you, baby girl." I felt another series of kicks beneath the phone.
"She's kicking like crazy now."
"I miss you guys. I can't wait until Friday."
"Me either. Only three more days."
"Yeah. I'll let you get some sleep now. I'll call you tomorrow."
"Okay. Goodnight, Frankie."
"G'night, Mel."
I disconnected the call and placed my cell on the nightstand. I felt even more confused now. Between my dream from last night about Frank and our daughter and the incident with Gerard I didn't know what to do or think anymore.
