Melody's POV

Two days. Forty-eight hours. That's how long it has been since I left the miserable confines of this bed. That is how long I have been avoiding Mikey and Alicia. That is how long I have been ignoring Frank's calls and texts. That is how long I have been feigning sick. That is how long I have been cowardly hiding from my mistakes.

Both Mikey and Alicia had been in and out on a near hourly basis. I knew they were worried about me and I knew they could tell something was wrong but I refused to tell either of them what had truly happened. The truth about why I refused to leave this bed. As far as they were concerned I wasn't feeling well. I felt horrible for making them worry so much and I felt down right miserable with myself for making Frank worry while he was away but I couldn't help myself. I couldn't admit what I had done.

I felt so ashamed of myself for what I had allowed myself to do with Gerard. The regret I felt for sleeping with him was overwhelming, crushing even. The guilt alone seemed as if it would crush my chest at any given moment, obliterating the already cracked and shattered pieces of my damaged heart. I knew, deep in the back of my mind, it was childish and cowardly to hide from my problems rather than face them but I had enough stress to deal with without Mikey or Frank learning about my mistake.

I was still wallowing in my self-hate and shame when Alicia entered the room. She took me by complete surprise when she ripped the comforter from around my body.

"Okay, I have had enough of this shit, Melody. I am sick and tired of seeing you wallowing in bed. Get up and get your ass in the shower. Now."

I lay there, gaping up at her in shock but she only stared down on me, arms crossed over her chest and a scowl on her face.

"But Alicia, I....I don't feel well." She sighed in obvious irritation.

"Look Mel, you and I both know that is just an excuse you are using to hide from the real problem. I don't know what's going on but we are going to talk about it. I want you to get up and get in the shower and then I want you to put something nice on because we are going shopping."

"But I don't want to. Please just leave me alone, Leesh." I knew I was whining but I really, really did not want to get out of this bed let alone go fucking shopping.

"No, Mel. I am tired of seeing you so fucking down. You need to get out of this house for a little while." I sighed in defeat. It was obvious Alicia wasn't going to give up.

"Fine." I huffed as I slid out of the bed. She smiled victoriously.

"That's my girl. Now get your ass in that shower."

"Yeah, yeah." I grumbled as I made my way into the bathroom.

I closed and locked the door behind me then adjusted the spray and stripped out of my clothing as I waited for the water to heat up. Once the spray was to my liking I stepped under the hot water, allowing it to wash over my body and warm my chilled body. The water was refreshing and relaxing especially considering I hadn't had a shower in two days and I was more than glad to let it ease my aching muscles. It wasn't until the water began to run cold and I heard Alicia knocking at the door that I finally turned the water off and stepped out of the shower.

"Hurry up, Mel!"

I groaned as I wrapped a thick, warm towel around my body to protect me from the now chilly air.

"Yeah, yeah. I'm coming." I grumbled, slinging the door open to find Alicia waiting for me with a brush in one hand and a hairdryer in the other.

"Sit." She demanded. "I'm gonna do your hair."

I knew there was no sense in arguing so I did as I was told and let Alicia dry my hair. Fifteen minutes later my hair was dry and I was rummaging through my side of the closet for something to wear. Unfortunately, I was having no luck.

"Fuck! Nothing fits anymore, Leesh."

"Hmm...sit. I'll find something."

I sighed as I plopped down on the bed and watched Alicia dig through the closet.

"Leesh, what am I going to do? I have no money and none of my clothes fit anymore. Maybe I should just stay home. I don't want to wear pajamas to the mall."

"Relax Mel, I'll figure it out. Um...oh, I've got it! Give me your cell so I can call Frank."

"Uh..why do you need to call Frank?"

She rolled her eyes, sighing deeply. "Just give me your cell."

I groaned for probably the millionth time that afternoon as I handed over my cell and watched her call Frank. She scrolled through my contacts until she found his name and then hit send, putting it on speaker so I could hear as well. The line rang only twice before he answered.

"Mel?" He sounded both relieved and panicked all at once and a pang of guilt stabbed my gut.

"Uh, no. It's Alicia."

"Oh, hey. Um..what's up?"

"I just need to ask for a small favor."

"Sure. What do you need?"

"I was hoping you could help me out with something. See, Mel is in dire need of new clothing because nothing seems to fit anymore and I want to take her shopping but she has no money."

She smirked toward me as I practically glared daggers straight through her. If looks could kill she would be so fucking dead.

"Oh, of course. Anything for Mel. I left my credit card with Mikey in case Mel needed anything while I was away. Just ask him for it. Just do me a favor?"

"Sure."

"Make sure she gets everything she wants and needs, okay? I don't care how much it is or how much she spends. The card has no limit. It's just, I know her and I know she will be worried about spending too much but I want you to make sure she gets everything she needs."

"Of course. Thanks, Frank."

"It's no problem. I told you, anything for Mel. So, um, how is she? Is she still feeling bad?"

"She's feeling much better today. Would you like to talk to her?"

My eyes grew wide and I shook my head furiously, mouthing 'no' frantically at her but she only smirked evilly in my direction.

"Of course. Thank you, Alicia."

She took the phone off speaker and shoved it into my hands. I glared at her as I lifted the phone to my ear.

"Hey, Frankie."

"Mel." He breathed, sounding relieved and causing another pang of stabbing guilt in my gut. "How are you feeling?"

"Better, much better. Um, so, when will you be home?"

"It's going to be late. Probably around midnight or so."

"I can't wait. I've missed you."

"I've missed you, too, Mel. You have no idea how much I have missed you guys. How's my baby girl doing?"

I placed a hand over my stomach, rubbing gently.

"She misses her daddy. A lot. She's been less active than normal but she's fine."

"I miss her so much. I haven't stopped thinking about you guys once."

"We're fine, Frank. Um, Frank, I don't want to spend too much so I'll just get a few things and I will pay you back as soon as I can. I promise."

"You will not. I don't even want to hear that nonsense, Mel. I want you to get whatever you want and need, okay? Money isn't important to me, taking care of you and my baby is so get what you need and pick up some things for our little girl while you're there, okay?"

"Frank," I groaned. "You are way too good to me."

"You deserve the best and so does our daughter. I have to get back now but I'll be home late tonight."

"Okay, I can't wait. Bye Frankie."

"Me neither. Bye Mel."

I hung up the phone and tossed it aside.

"You are so fucking evil sometimes, Leesh."

"Yeah, I know but you love me anyway." She grinned, poking her tongue out at me. "Here, try these on." She grinned as she tossed a pair of jeans at me.

"Um, these are Frank's."

"I know but I think they will fit with some minor adjustments. That little fucker is too skinny. I swear."

I slid them on and surprisingly they fit perfectly until I tried to button them.

"Ugh! This sucks!"

"Hang on, I can fix this."

She folded each side down and tucked them beneath my bulging belly and then safety pinned the folds down.

"There! Now they are perfect." She grinned. "Now, try this shirt on." She said, handing me one of Frank's many tees. I slipped it on followed by one of Frank's hoodies.

"You look adorable. Now, sit so I can finish your hair and makeup."

Thirty minutes later my hair had been straightened and my makeup had been done.

"Okay, all ready to go." Alicia exclaimed, clearly excited. I only nodded.

Alicia retrieved Frank's credit card from Mikey before we made our way out to Alicia's car and took off toward the mall. As Alicia drove toward the mall a feeling of dread settled in my gut. I had a feeling this wouldn't be the worry free trip to the mall I had been hoping for. No, I knew Alicia was going to eventually demand to know what had really been bothering me these past few days and I was more than reluctant to share with her but I also knew she wouldn't give up until she knew.

Great. I thought to myself as I watched the world buzz by in a blur out the window.

>_< I know, I know. Blame it on my horrible, horrible immune system. I have been really sick for the past couple of weeks but I am feeling a lot better now. Honestly, I am still sick but this is the first day I haven't slept ALL damn day long and I thought you guys really deserved an update. Actually, there will be two updates today since it's been so long. I really, really am sorry for the wait.

I really love you guys though. I don't think you have any idea how awesome you all are. :D
