There is a demon plaguing my mind.
Exorcise it! Get it out! Cast it out!
It's devouring me! I can feel it lapping greedily as it consumes me.
Bones and all.
I'm screaming. I'm waving my hands erratically.
You see me. You wave back, you do nothing.
I thrust what's left of my body to the last beam of sunlight,
But the demon grabs me, and shoves me down.
Down to the blackest, darkest depths of his innards.
I scream as I fall.
And I stare as both you and the sunlight fade. Engulfed by the darkness.
The nothingness.
And then, I stop.
I stop resisting. I stop fighting. I stop searching for the light, for the silent savior blessed in white that is to reach down and smite the darkness.
To reach down and rescue me.
I stop waiting, and I stop wishing.
As I am silenced.
As I am
