“Of course I do.” Frank said quietly after a long pause. His eyes were full of pain and love but I still wasn’t really sure if he meant it. ‘That’s what not having you’re anxiety pills will do.’ I thought as my heart rate quickened and I nearly choked on my words.
“I’m not sure if I believe you, giving up something you believe in and love is hard to give up just for someone you love.” I whispered and the pain fizzled out of his wide eyes as they were replaced with nothing but the love.
“Mikey Way, you’re much more than just someone I love.” He whispered as he pulled harshly on the chain of the cross, causing it to come flying off and across the room. “You’re my life.” He said and I smiled, my anxiety and nerves calmed completely as I kissed him softly, feeling him smile against my lips.
“Aw.” Ray said and we pulled apart, pink tingeing our cheek bones as we laced our fingers together on top of the table.
“I was scared you were going to say no then, Iero. I wouldn’t want to have to do that to you but hey, a promise is a promise.” Gerard told Frank, his voice in a mock stern tone though he was smirking, showing his small white teeth.
“Gee, you know that would never happen.” Frank replied, rolling his eyes at my older brother.
“What? What would you not like to do and what’s never going to happen?” I asked, brutally confused as to what was going on. What didn’t I know? Do they not trust me? Why me? CALM DOWN AND TAKE YOUR PILLS MIKEY!
“I think someone forgot to take their pills.” Gerard said, imitating my mother’s voice scarily well. I flipped him off and stood up, walking to the cabinet where the pills were kept and downing two of the little blue tablets dry.
“How can you take them things dry?” Frank asked, looking at me with an expression that looked something familiar to impressed. "Oh and Gerard said if I break your heart he breaks me." He told me and I smiled at my older brother.
"That's sweet, Gee. But even if Frank did hurt me, I would never want you to do that to him." I said and Gerard shrugged, his expression reading 'fair play'.
“And I've been taking them since I was eight, I think you sort of get used to not having water around when you need them things.” I smiled, which reminded me that Frank still needed his pills…and an injection.
“Frank, we need to give you your pills and injection now.” Ray said. Took the words out of my mouth man, words out of my mouth.
“Injection?” Gerard asked, paling slightly. “I’m so not doing that.” He shivered and I laughed at him, shaking my head at my older brother who’s phobia of needles always seemed somewhat strange to me because he just seems like the dangerous kind of person really. We do live in Jersey for heavens sake.
“I’ll do it.” I said, picking Frank up and sitting him on the table. “Lie down.” I instructed and he looked at me oddly.
“You need to inject it in your stomach so the muscles need to be lying flat and to be relaxed, now lie down.” I explained.
“Oh.” Frank said, looking somewhat uncomfortable as he lay back on my child hood kitchen table, with Bob, Ray and Gerard still sitting around him as I drew 50mg of the medicine into the syringe.
“This is going to hurt big time so you might want to hold Gee’s hand.” I warned as I cleaned the skin I would be sticking the sharp object into.
“Why not yours?” Frank whined and I shook my head.
“I have my hands full of needle, remember?” I said sarcastically and he giggled, taking my brothers hand and closing his eyes. Gerard paled when I picked up the needle and turned round to face them. I giggled, and pinched some of the skin just under Frank’s belly button- which is the only place on his stomach this man has any bit of fat whatsoever because I know full well that if I stick this in muscle he will be in huge pain.
I jabbed the glistening needle into the soft flesh and pushed down on the syringe, Frank let out a gasp and squeezed his eyes shut tighter as I pushed the rest of the lilac liquid into his body.
“Mikes, take that thing out now.” He whimpered and I pulled it out gently, cleaning over the small pin prick with the anti-septic the doctor had given us.
“Ow. Those things kill.” He whimpered and Bob snorted.
“Says tattoo man.” He pointed out, “You’re just being wimpy.” He said and Frank pouted, shuffling up off the table.
“Bob. Lie down.” I said and he looked shocked. “It’s pain killer, it won’t harm you.” I promised though Bob still looked sheepish as he lay back on the table.
“Mikey, Frank needs that.” Gerard said.
“Gerard, they give you double amounts in case you break the needle.” I assured and got a new needle, drawing out 50mg for Bob too and lifting his shirt up to reveal his pale, toned stomach. Ha, looks like this thing is going to have to go through muscle. I cleaned and pinched the spot I chose before pushing the needle in.
“Ouch!” Bob squeaked and I pushed the top down, forcing the liquid into his body.
“Pain, pain, agony, agony…. Agh! Take it out, take it out! I take it back! Frank may be the shortest guy in band boy history but he’s one of the hardest.” He squealed…he, he, Bob Bryar squealing and I took the needle out, cleaning the bit of stomach I stabbed and throwing the needles into the bin, handing Frank his pills and a glass of apple juice as the two sat down.
“I don’t know what all the fuss was about.” Bob said and Frank scoffed, slapping his stomach and causing Bob to wince, making a small squeak as he did so.
“Bob, I know it hurt. Get over it.” Frank said, downing the two pink pills and one of the white ones.
“Okay, if it hurt then Gerard’s bisexual.” Bob said, rolling his eyes.
“Well, that’s another one of my secrets out, thanks Bob.” Gerard said and Bob rolled his eyes.
“Thanks a lot dude.” Bob said and spat in Gerard’s face. Gerard licked it off with his abnormally long tongue.
“Yum, tastes like Bobby.” He said and I made a strangled ‘ew’ sound as Frank giggled, Ray looked like nothing had happened and Gerard and Bob were laughing hard, clutching their stomachs. A loud thump was caused when Gee fell of his chair, which made Bob laugh so hard he turned damn purple and was crying, clutching his stomach and snorting as he tried to get some air.
“Breath deep.” Ray said and then took another look at Bob before shouting, “IF YOU CAN’T BREATHE DEEP JUST TRY TO BREATHE!” Which didn’t really help much as Bob just laughed harder.
My phone began to ring so I answered, not bothering to look at the caller ID.
“Hey.” I said in a breezy tone down the line.
“M-Mikey?” Came a broken voice that sounded like it had been crying hard, it was female for definite though.
“Yeah, who’s this?” I asked and the woman let out a strangled sob.
“A-Alicia. I’m pregnant.” She sobbed, her voice seeming to become slurred along with the sobbing.
“What?!” I whispered and she sobbed again.
“Goodbye Mikey, I don’t deserve this child of ours.” And with that she hung up. I gulped, trying to process the information. Does that mean she’s…committing suicide? Killing herself along with our unborn child?
“Mikey?” Frank asked at exactly the same time Gerard did and I looked up at them.
“Who was that?” Ray asked and Bob looked my way, seeming to have recovered from his laughing fit.
“Alicia. She said she was pregnant. T-then she said she didn’t deserve our child and she said goodbye.” I whispered, looking at them with nervous eyes.
“Oh hell.” Bob muttered and Ray’s brow furrowed.
“Was that like a…?” He left off and I nodded.
“Suicide note? I think so.” I said, putting my elbows on the table and burying my head in my hands.
“What am I going to do?” I asked and felt Frank’s arms wrap around me as he slid into the chair that I was sitting on just beside me, resting his head on my back. I could feel his calming heartbeat through my body and sighed, relaxed.
“Go round there and talk to her?” Gerard suggested.
“I would but seeing as she’s living in California with her Mom it’s just a tad hard.” I said, sarcasm lacing my voice despite the awful situation.
“Then you just have to wait, try calling her?” Ray said and I shook my head again.
“When it disconnected it kind of crunched, I think she broke her phone.” I said. “The only child I ever might have ran the possibility of having is about to be killed in a suicide.” I muttered, groaning and leaning back further into Frank.
“Hey, shush. It’s okay.” Frank soothed, wrapping his arms tight around my waist as I leaned my head back onto his shoulder, allowing him to kiss me gently. The only thing is, it’s not okay at all, is it.
