Harry's Second Chance

Impressive chapter. I'm really curious about what you've got up your sleeve for Voldemort. He won't just take this lying down. The question is, will he (or CAN he) attempt to make more horcruxes?
Looking forward to your next update.Author's response
After splitting himself into 7 parts (6 horcruxes and himself), there must not be too much left over to split again, so he MIGHT be able to squeeze one more split, but it would be very risky. He'll have to be really desperate to try, and that will take a while. He'll try other things first.

Interesting chapter. I'm looking forward to seeing Voldemort's reactions to finding out that even his last Horcrux is not as safe as he believed it to be! And I like how you managed to avoid Snape and Harry meeting a lot in your new timeline! Keep up the good work! :)Author's response

Always nice to take a break from my work and read some well written fanfiction. Nice method for dealing with Lucius. I look forward to your next installment. -- JimAuthor's response
Thanks! And Lucius will be back with a role to play later on.

i'm sure you set it up for snape to avoid harry for a reason... and i can see ways in which that's a good move... but i still wanna see a harry/snape showdown :)Author's response
It solves the 'problem' of having a new defense teacher every year, and allows me to have some fun in potions without Snape screaming as much. More ideas might occur later

DrT,
Excellent story. As always, there are very few misspelled or misused words. There is little to fine fault with.

Enjoyed the chapter; I always want 'em longer! Interesting political wrangling. Myself, I think they should have killed Lucius, but if Harry had promised Draco ...
So, Voldemort is now mortal, back to square one ... with the horcruxes gone AND Harry's special foreknowledge is this going to end up similar to your other stories?Author's response
About the only 'foreknowledge' Harry has left is that Voldemort might go after the Prophecy.

fact nightmares of futures past and backwards compatible are two of my favoriI've actually been avoiding stories with the words "second chance" in the title because there were a glutt of them on ff.net (I came across at least 3). Even though I like this type of story (and in tes) running into several stories titled "second chance" that were badly written put me off.
I'm glad however that I took a look at this one as I'm quite enjoying it :) Lots of humourous moments, and by far the most extreme early spin on events I've seen in any of the groundhog day stories(after the movie). I hope you plan to keep this going. Of course you've spun things around so much that I have no idea what's going to happen next, but I must say that's far preferrable to those stories that stay too close to the original after introducing an AU element.
Curious to see where the H/Hr is headed as well (which though you haven't commited to it you've given the reader a strong impression that you're leaning towards it) but as you're working with them so young I'm not entirely convinced you'll be writing this story line long enough to see them to that age.
I wonder if Draco will even end up on the quiditch team this time... Let's face it, he bought his way onto the team and never once beat Harry to the snitch that I can remember. The turn around with his personality is by far the most unexpected aspect of the story. I guess it goes to the idea that the younger you get to someone the more likely you can influence them...
Anyway, looking forward to the next chapter (though I still think you might want to rethink the title.) :)Author's response
And here I thought I was being original (as mentioned, I only know of one, incomplete story in this genre before psoting on schnoogle). Remember, Harry is (mentally & emotionally) about 19 or 20 at this point in the story, while Hermione is about 14 or 15 (since she was combined with her ghost from the alternate future).
Draco might have a shot at the Quidditch team his third year.

Excellent to see a strong Harry but still compassionate. At least this time, he is standing up for himself and telling Dumbledore exactly how it was and using his head and not trusting blindly. Maybe Sirius will finally realize Harry is not James. Maybe Rumus should just kick his butt when he starts drinking and gets maudlin about what if's and should have's. It will be interesting to see how Draco handles his new position and Severus reacts to Harry when he has to deal with him. Could his illogical reaction be due to Voldie influencing him through his mark against all Potters, like a built in imperious?? His just seems excessive for some reason. Great job so far. Looking forward to more.Author's response
Thanks. Sirius is going to do something than may or may not blow up in his face. Draco is going to go along with everything, while seeing visions of being Minister in his head. Snape is going to do his best to avoid Harry for two years.

I can count on one hand the “Time Travel” Fics that I have read and liked. Now you have the honour (Or shame if you prefer) of becoming the first one to be counted on my second hand… I hope you update in the near future.Author's response
Thank you!
