Atch. I like. Incest is always a little hard to pull off (in fiction I mean... er) -- there's the mixture of affectionate familiarity and guilty, sneaking attraction, and you've got it here. My favorite line: "Her heart flops like a wounded creature," because it captures the messiness of her emotions, of the childish gift, of the whole fucked-up situation.Shades of White

I like the touch about the ghosts; given that ghosts always follow the Thief King around, it anchors this little story to canon. It also makes the entire thing a little more macabre, a little more terrible, and it just fits the deadened, distanced way Amane forces herself to feel affection.
