Horribly off topic but I freakin' adore your name. Ashlyn, that's so pretty and actually the only name I have picked out for if I ever have a kid so I hope to god it's a girl. (though I guess if I have a kid years from now and it's a boy I'll have the courtesy to think of something else)
And now for the more on topic, about the story comment... I'm excited to read this. You effectively made me excited, without really giving much away.
