Can't You See I'm the One?
"He hurt you, didn't he?" Frank asked Raelyn softly. She clenched her teeth, and looked in the other direction. "Leave me alone." she growled. There was no way Frank was just going to let this go. "He made you unhappy, didn't he? He made you this miserable?" he pushed.
"Everyone's unhappy! Your unhappy, aren't you?!" Raelyn snapped. Frank didn't respond, shocked that she had lashed out at him so fast. Raelyn never lashes out. "ANSWER ME! AREN'T YOU?!" she yelled. "Sure, sometimes-"
"Only you think your lucky, because you didn't have a boyfriend that said things, did things that weren't always so nice. But what you DON'T know, is that John was a wonderful person! Even if you did know that, you wouldn't care because you think he's bad, don't you?!"
"Raelyn-"
"ANSWER ME! YOU NEVER, EVER ANSWER ME!" Raelyn screamed. Frank narrowed his eyes at her. "OKAY, DO YOU WANT ME TO TELL YOU THE TRUTH?! I THINK HE IS AN EVIL, FUCKING BASTARD FOR WHAT HE DID TO YOU! IS THAT WHAT YOU WANTED TO HEAR?!" he snapped back. Tears formed in Raelyn's eyes, and a small smile appeared on her face.
"But that was because of me, Frank. Because I was bad, not him!" she explained, tears streaming down her face. Frank's face softned. "What did you do, Rae? What was so bad, that made him hit you and torture you?" he asked, tears falling from his own eyes. "I'm always bad. No matter what I do or say, I'm bad." she retorted. Frank pushed the hair out of her face, forcing her to look into his eyes. "What did you do, Rae?" he asked quietly.
"I breathe."
