This Tinseltown
1 reviewSiblings are letdowns at times, back pain sucks and when Brendon Urie winks at you, it's safe to say you'll turn into a giggling puddle on the floor.

After a surprising amount of pancakes made by a brother who claimed he couldn’t cook for the whole time we’ve lived together and a bit of good conversation, the four of us were about to leave the apartment to go and take a good wander through the streets of Liverpool, showing Brendon and Spencer all of the really random stuff we have in our home city. It was nine in the morning when we were just about to walk out of the door.
“Oh, FUCK!” Mike shouted, making me jump.
“What? Is everything okay?” The guys turned to look at my brother.
“Yeah, I forgot I was supposed to be in work, that’s all,” He explained.
“It’s your company, this is business. Call in!” I ordered.
“I wish I could but we have a bunch of auditions today, can’t get out of it,” he sighed, “Will you be all right showing them round on your own?” Mike asked, puling his phone out of his pocket.
It then occurred to me, I’d lived here my entire life, 19 years and I didn’t entirely know my way around the major parts of the city. So the answer to that question was no, I was not going to be okay, I’d probably lead them into the River Mersey looking for a Beatles memorabilia store, but I nodded anyway. As if I was ready to admit not knowing my way around my home and risking looking like a total fool.
“Right, good,” he said, bringing his phone to his ear.
“Hello? Hey, yeah, have a car sent to my place please. I’ll be in soon. Is that this morning? I have a lunch date with who, now? Oh…oh…oh right… okay then… thank you, Leah,” He took a deep breath and put his phone back in his pocket, “Looks like it’s going to be a late night sis, you’ll have to hold down the fort on your own.”
I honestly wanted to slap him.
“Okay Mike, you have a good day, we should go we’ve got a lot to get through,” I smiled, “Oh, and erm…take your fucking keys.” With that I herded Brendon and Spencer out of the door and shut it behind me. We walked towards the elevator to the right.
“So what’s the deal there then?” Brendon asked.
“You mean me and Mike? He’s my big brother, he’s my manager, we live together in a house he bought and I maintain,” I told them.
“Is it hard? Being around a member of your close family all the time?” Spencer asked as we got into the elevator and I pressed the ground floor button.
“Not really, he’s more of my best friend than my brother, it’s only annoying when he brings sluts into my house,” I said making both men chuckle.
“Surely it’s worse for him when you come home with a guy. I mean, you’re his little sister!” Brendon said, shaking his head. I just tilted my head in response. He gave me a strange look and the elevator doors opened onto the ground floor.
We walked through the lobby, having the doors opened for us by the doormen.
“Are you sure we won’t get noticed and mobbed?” Spencer asked, worriedly.
“Oh, of course not, I’ll just keep you away from the possible hang out places of your potential fans. I’ve noticed a few select places for panic fandom here and there.” The guys both nodded.
I took them everywhere. All of the Beatles landmarks, the docks, museums, art galleries, shopping centres, cool backstreet markets, the three graces, everywhere. Even our really crappy china town. I had no idea how awesome the place I lived in was. By the end of it we were really tired, so I took them to my favourite restaurant to eat lunch and then we found their hotel, which turned out to be “A Hard Day’s Night”, named rather appropriately.
“Y’know, we do love The Beatles, but Ryan would have loved this so much. Not that we didn’t, it’s just…wow he really adores them,” Brendon giggled as I got them checked in.
“I know, I just thought…well we don’t have much else to offer here. Few beautiful sights I guess,” I shrugged.
“I have a favourite already,” He grinned, looking at me.
“Really? Which one?” I asked. He just laughed again. Spencer tutted and picked up their bags ready to go to the room.
“OW! Oh my god! FUCK!”
“Spence?! Buddy are you okay?” Brendon asked. Spencer had dropped the bags and was bent over in pain.
“No. No, I’ve really hurt my back,” He whined.
“Awh, Spencer! What if you tried to sit down?” I asked, walking him over to a chair in the hotel lobby. Me and Brendon tried to lower him into the chair but he yelped in pain again and flopped right back up.
“No! No, worse. Brendon what the fuck is in your suitcase?!” he frowned, “I need to lie down.”
“Okay, Chloe you help him to the elevator, let the bell boy get the bags, I’ll get our keys from the check in desk and I’ll be right back,” Brendon said, giving his friends shoulder a reassuring rub. The elevator must have seemed miles away for poor Spencer. He still managed to shuffle the whole way there with me supporting one side and Brendon the other. We got him upstairs and into bed as quickly as possible.
“I’ll get you some painkillers Spencer, I’ll be right back,” I ran past Brendon who was getting him a bottle of water from the mini-fridge into the bathroom and opened the cabinet, noticing a guest pack. I emptied it out onto the sink rifling through random toiletries. Bandages, shower cap, toothpaste, condoms, painkillers. Wait a second… condoms? All right then.
I hurried back to Spencer.
“What are they?” He asked as I dropped two into his hand.
“It’s just aspirin, take it,” I ordered.
“Oh yeah, like they’ll help!” He snapped.
“Hey! You’re crabby when you’re in pain. Take them, dude,” Brendon told him.
Spencer rolled his eyes and swallowed the pills.
“Right, I’m going to go home and let you guys settle in. I take it dinners off, Spencer needs to rest,” I said.
“Well… surely he wouldn’t mind ordering room service. I think it’d do us some good to talk about the song and stuff. That’s if you don’t mind going to dinner just us two?” Brendon asked. He looked so innocent. His huge brown eyes locked with mine, it was hard to tell if he meant it as an actual business meeting or if he wanted it to be more of a date. Only one way to find out; time.
“Yeah that’s fine if it’s okay with you Spencer?” Brendon looked at him quickly, then straight back to me. Spencer nodded with his eyes closed.
“Okay great,” Brendon beamed, “I’ll pick you up at eight,” He grinned.
“You don’t even know where we’re going!” I laughed.
“Okay then, I’ll come round at eight and you can take me there,” he chuckled.
“Right okay then,” I said, making my way towards the door, “See you at eight,” I said glancing back over my shoulder to smile at Brendon, “Hope you’re better soon Spencer!”
“Thank you Chloe,” Spencer replied.
“It’s a date,” Brendon said with a wink, turning me into a giggling mess.
I got myself onto the other side of the door as quickly as I possibly could.
Oh. My. God.
