Yuna thought it would have been better if he'd died. She could have held his body, then, broken and bloodied, cried over it, sent him herself. When she'd danced, she would have felt his spirit flow away, and she'd know he was gone, not just walked away, not maybe someday coming back.

If he'd died, Yuna could have stopped herself from standing on the Luca docks, whistling, calling, screaming his name, and even after Lulu dragged her away she wouldn't have wondered if maybe, if she'd stayed, he would have stepped out of the ocean and come back to her.
