Lies, Deceit and Manipulations
I do not own Harry Potter, despite how much I would like to. I only own the plot.

Harry Potter finished hooking up the last of the canisters to the pipeline and stood back to admire his work.
"Damn that's a lot of gas."
"Finally done?" asked his bride-to-be, Ginny Weasley.
"Yep, all we need now is a test subject?"
Ginny nodded in agreement, not noticing the expectant look she was getting from Harry as she looked over the various pipes and leavers in confusion.
'What the hell is this thing?"
"Erm... Ginny?"
"Yes?"
"We really need a test subject and I'm the only one who knows how to work the machine," he said in a hopeful tone.
"Oh," she said, not getting the hint. Harry sighed, the last of his hope destroyed.
"I need you to be the test subject."
'God these stalker types are incredibly stupid. Why is it always me who attracts them?' he thought as she looked at him, realisation dawning on her.
"Ok, Harry," she agreed. 'After all,' she thought, 'with that potion I gave him he wouldn't be able to hurt me if he tried.'
Harry grinned in excitement with a dark glint in his eyes. 'Oh, I've been waiting for this for so long,' he thought while practically bouncing in place.
Ginny walked to an adjacent door, which looked like it belonged on a space ship for how tightly it was sealed, and stepped through into the room, sitting down on a small chair in the centre. The door slammed shut behind her and several bolts and locks clicked into place. On the other side of the door.
"Ok Ginny," came Harry's voice over the intercom, "I'm going to open two pipes and release a small amount of gas into the room. If you feel anything just give me the signal and I'll stop."
Ginny nodded her acceptance but frowned. 'Why does he sound so happy?'
/"Ok, now will you try to apparate?"/
Ginny raised her wand and spun round to apparate but was forced back to earth by the powerful wards her Harry had set up.
"Good, now try the portkey."
She looked down at the necklace Harry had bought her for Christmas. It had cost a lot of money but he was well under the influence of the potion by then, but was always generous with his money anyway. Holding on to it tightly she exclaimed the password. "Get me out of here!"
The usual swirl of colours descended on her for a moment before fading out of existence and leaving Ginny to drop to her knees, her head spinning.
"Very good, now can you find any other way out?"
Ginny searched around the room but found it to be completely inescapable. The unbreakable wards Harry and Hermione had set up on the walls and door would hold strong against even the most powerful reductor curse.
Harry's voice came through the speaker in the corner again, telling her to standby and that she should get comfortable.
"Ok Ginny, are you ready?"
At Ginny's affirmative nod Harry pulled down on a leaver and watched in anticipation, barely noticing Hermione walk through the door to watch with him. Slowly encircling his chest with her arms.
There was a loud clank as several pipes opened at intervals around the room and a hiss of moving gas. Ginny sat still and tried to concentrate, 'there's something not right here,' she thought through the haze that was settling on her mind. 'Aren't there only supposed to be two pipes open?'
The realisation finally set in as a light giggle escaped her throat. 'Its broken! The machine's broken! I've got to tell Harry!' Ginny leapt up from her seat and pounded on the mirror she knew only worked one way. "HELP ME!" she screamed at the glass, forgetting the silencing charm around the room. "THE MACHINE IS BROKEN!"
She had just begun pounding on the mirror when another giggle worked its way through her, then a chuckle and finally a full blown laugh. By the time she was able to get her breath back the one way mirror had turned into plain, see-through glass and she could see her fiancé and her best friend embraced in each others arms, watching her with demonic grins on their faces.
Hermione tore her eyes away from the shocked and betrayed looking Ginny and gave Harry a quick kiss on the lips, smiling into his mouth as she saw Ginny gasp. Pulling away she leant down to the microphone.
"You should have tried amortentia,"
Harry sent her a confused look but it was wiped off his face in a rush of emotion.
Ginny gave one last defeated look before burying her head in her hands, crying despite the chuckles that were threatening to overwhelm her. As she finally collapsed into unconsciousness, undoubtedly for the last time, one last thought came to her.
'I will die laughing. Trelawney was right."
