It was a warm night only the lightest breeze blew every now again ,making the tree's leaves dance on their branches and ruffling the young Frank Iero's messy brown hair.Frank knew he shouldn't be out this late under the circumstances.Alot of people had been going missing recently,few returned and when they did it was in a coffin,but Frank needed a job and was looking for vaccancies still but he was having much luck.
He had been searching all day,but he didn't have many qualifications making it hard for a job.With a small sigh Frank put he's earphones in and turned the music on low so he could still hear the sounds around him faintly.Frank was growing worried if he didn't get a job soon he'd be on the streets,he was good with animals and had applied to the zoo but because he didn't have the grades he was turned down and his hope was now growing thin.
Frank was pulled out of his train of thoughts by a delicate voice.
"Are you all right?"came the soft voice from beside him causing him to jump.
Frank spun round to look at the person who had adressed him,it was a girl probably around twenty or twenty-one with dark black hair that was pinned up into elegant curls and icy-blue eyes rimmed with black eyeliner and pale skin and was wearing a long green gown much like the victorians wore with a black petticoat.
Frank remembered that she had asked him a question
"Um yer im fine"he mumbled looking at the ground angrily
"I know I shouldn't be intruding on your personal life,but you seem kind of annoyed and angry so why dont you tell me what's wrong"she said sitting down on the bench and patting the seat next to her.
Frank wasn't sure why but he sat down next to the girl and started spilling his story out to her ,because for some reason he didn't understand he trusted her.
"Well I need a job or i'm going to get evicted from my apartment and I don't have enough qulifications to get a proper job so I cant pay rent ,and my girlfriend cheated on me and the one person who ever cared for my measly exsistance was my grandfather who died three weeks ago so my life utterly sucks"He sighed looking down.
"I can see this is upsetting you but your life isn't as bad as mine"She said gently
"I doubt your life is worst then mine"Frank argued
"My Mom and Dad disowned me because I had sex before I got married and my brother died in the war but,its okay because I've found happiness"She said smiling
"Im sorry I didn't know"Frank said feeling guilty for acting the way he did.
"Well you didn't know so it's okay,you know what kid I really like you and I think I might be able to fix that job problem for you"She beamed
"Really?"Frank exclaimed hopefully
"Mmhm,well might ,im not the boss but I can put a good word in for you"she smiled gently
"Thats great"Frank said happily
"Wait a second,do you mind moving around alot?"She asked cautiously
"Nah I dont mind at all,so what exactly is this job?"He asked
"Oh I work for a circus their looking for a new animal trainer to help Mikey"She beamed
"Why are you helping me?I dont even know your name"Frank quizzed
"Im helping you because you remind me of my brother oh and my name is Amy by the way"She replied
"Well im Frank"He grinned
"Well it's a pleasure to meet you Frank,now we need to go to the circus to get you a job"She sung happily
"Why are you singing?"Frank questioned
"It makes everything sound better"Amy said calmly
"Okay then"he said
She laughed at his tone before grabbing his hand and pulling him towards the old woods.No one went in the woods anymore not since sixteen people were murdered almost all of them under the age of thirteen
no one knew who was carrying out the crimes but they knew that going into the woods now was a suicide wish ,which was why Frank was peering around nervously as they reached the borders of the old woods.The tree's were all old and knarled,twisting into grotesque shapes,some looks like hands trying to reach out and snatch you why you weren't looking.
Amy stopped when she realised that Frank was frozen to the spot looking at the woods with nothing but terror on his pale face,she knew why of course.Everyone was wary of the woods now preffering to go the long way home instead of wandering into the woods.Of course the circus folk didn't worry about the woods,they didn't see a problem with it ,knowing that the chances of been murdered in the woods were a hundred to one ,but it was obvious to Amy that Frank did not share this thought and was terrified of entering the dark place with its haunting tree's.
"Frank come on,this is the fastest way to the camp"She cooed trying to coax him into the wood
"No I can't I'll get killed"he whispered the blood leaving his face making him look pale and waxy in the moonlight
"No you won't Frank,trust me,I walk through here all the time"She whispered softly
"You promise I won't get hurt"He asked her desperatly his eyes shining with fear.
"I promise"she said boldly
He nodded and let her pull him gently into the wood.When they entered the wood the warm night disappered and was replaced with a cold wind,the woods were eerily quiet ,there was no animals scuttling or birds flying and it unnerved Frank greatly.Amy on the other hand enjoyed the silence,the cold wind she found it relaxing and gentle she loved nothing more then aimlessly wandering through the woods and taking in the old tree's ,although Chester and Mike did not agree with her walking in here on her own but she was good at sneaking away from them.
Amy loved Mike and Chester after her brother died and her parents disowned her she was ready to end it all but they welcomed her into their home and treated her with respect and happiness,but then came the tragic day Mike and Chesters friend Joe Hahn died in an accident in the factory they were heartbroken as Joe was like a brother to them and they soon found themselves depressed and often angry,it upset Amy greatly seeing them act like this,so she ran off.Mike and Chester instantly set off in search of her as they had vowed to protect her.When they finally caught up with her they were outside a circus and thats how they met Gerard and joined the Venin circus and they hadn't looked back since.
Amy hoped that the circus could become a home to Frank like it was to her but you never know what a persons reaction will be.
Finally,much to Frank relief,they exited the woods and were faced with a large tent of many colours.Amy led him round the tent to the back of it,where Frank was welcomed with the sight of many bright caravans and intresting people each wearing something from different era's of time which confused him greatly.Frank was brought out of his chain of thought by Amy frantically waving and calling out to some one.
"BELLE,BELLE OVER HERE!" she shouted loudly across the field.
Frank watched as a young petite girl walked over flanked by a very weird man.
The man following the girl had thick black hair ,but the weird thing was his body,he was covered from head to toe with greenish blue scales,his feet were webbed,his neck had three gills on each side,but his eyes were oh so distracting,they were pumpkin orange with a black slit in the middle ,there with bits of yello flecking the orange giving an even more surreal feel to the already odd man.He only wore a pair of black shorts and a silver locket with gold woven into it with the letter T on the front.
"Hey ams,who's he"The girl exclaimed
"This is Frank ,I think he'd be good for the job opening"Amy beamed
"Is that so"the girl responded casting her gaze to Frank
"Yes,I was going to take him to Gerard but it would probably be better if you did"Amy said
"Yes it probably would be better,oh by the way Amy ,Mike's looking for you,he seems pretty pissed off"The girl said seriously
"Oh shit,where is he?"Amy asked
"Um im not sure Maverick knows,MAVERICK"she called as the weird guy with scales had wandered off to talk to someone,he quickly ran back though to see what the girl wanted.
"Yes"He asked in a surprisingly soft,lyrical voice that Frank did not expect as he had assumed he would have a growl like voice
"Can you take Amy to Mike while I take Frank to Gerard?"She asked
"Of course,c'mon then"he said to Amy leading her away.
The girl and Frank watched them walk across the field and disappear into a small tent.Once they were completely out of sight the girl turned back to Frank,a gentle smile gracing her face.
"Im Annabella but you can call me Belle"she chimed happily reminding Frank of a mockingbird.
"Hey im frank"he said shyly
"Cool,well we should really take you to Gerard so you can get that job"she said happily
"Yer we should"He agreed
"C'mon then,he's caravan is over here"she told Frank.
She led Frank across the field through a maze of caravans until they reached a slightly bigger one,painted completely black with red swirls stenciled on,there was a sign on the door that read "knock three times and wait"
Belle knocked on the door three times before shouting "Gee theres a kid here about the job"
They heard shuffling before the door opened to reveal...
