Really sorry for the wait guys, but I had a hard time writing this chapter. I think this is the fifth time I’ve re-written it. I took a break with it cause I just got so frustrated I was ready to light the fucker on fire and be done with it. The we had a really bad storm and the internet was out for a good four hours. But here it is. My writer’s block is gone and my internet is back. I’m ready to start on the next chapter. Thanks so much for reading, rating and reviewing. And I hope you like this, cause I worked hard. Oh yeah, this is a filler. Sorry, but I‘m just setting things up for the next chapter, which I promise will be much more interesting.

~ the morning frank wakes up ~

Frank woke up in what could have possibly been the worst pain of his life. His head throbbed and the pain in his stomach was nauseating, and on top of that, every bone and muscle in his body ached. He so badly wanted to just go back to sleep, but the pain wasn't exactly something he could ignore.

Somewhere through the house- or actually it was just a very large apartment, he could hear a voice that was oddly familiar, he just couldn't place where he had heard it before. He did recognize the song the voice was singing however, it was Dig Up Her Bones by The Misfits. He knew it by heart and if he didn't feel so shitty, he probably would've sung along.
Before he could become too alarmed by not knowing where he was, a dark haired angel gone wrong walked in, and for some reason far beyond any knowledge of his, he felt intensely grateful to Gerard.

"Good morning, sweetheart." Gerard's smirk lasted about two seconds before he saw the pain that was clearly painted on Frank's face. The boy watched with slightly weary eyes as the fighter crossed the room and crawled into bed, sitting crossed legged beside him. A cool hand brushed the hair out of his eyes and stroked his cheek.

"What's wrong?" Gerard's soft voice portrayed the genuine concern he felt.

"It hurts, Gerard." He whimpered, not wanting to cry in front of the folder man. But Gerard wouldn't have minded or thought any less of him for it, he simply wanted to help Frank.

"Tell me where it hurts and I'll make it go away." His voice was quite possibly more disgustingly sweet than anything he had used in his life.

"You can't. It hurts too much." Frank knew he was being somewhat childish, but he didn't care. He honestly didn't think there was anything to be done to stop the pain that burned and twisted in his stomach, that's where it hurt the most.

"Please tell me sugar. I promise I'll make it feel better." Frank highly doubted that.
But he gave Gerard the benefit of the doubt and showed him.

"Right here." He took Gerard's larger hand and moved it to where his stomach hurt so badly.

"Can I see?"
The addressed nodded. Gerard pulled the covers away and lifted up Frank's shirt to reveal a torso that was almost gruesome, it was so discolored. The wound that had been reopened during the beating looked pretty horrible too. Gerard couldn't help the grimace that contorted his face.

"Oh." Was all he could think to say. It looked so much worse than he had imagined.

"Is that the only place that hurts?" He hoped it was, it didn't want Frankie to be in any more pain.
Frank shook his head 'no'.

"You gotta talk to me here, sweetie. Where else does it hurt. I can't make it better if I don't know."
He did have a point.

"It hurts all over." He whimpered again, gritting his teeth against the pain.
If you think he's over reacting, try having five guys twice your size beat the shit out of you with steel-toed boots. You would be ready to cry, too.

"I'm all kinds of sore and achy." Despite being worried about Frank, Gerard found the way he said that to be adorable.

"All kinds of sore and achy?" He repeated.

"Mm-hmm."

Gerard had dealt with more of his fair share of injuries, although him being the experienced fighter he was, they were rarely this serious. But he knew how to take care of them just the same. And that's what he would do. He would take care of Frankie and make him feel better.

"'Kay, here's what we're gonna do. I'm gonna make you a hot bath, it'll help with the achy feeling, I'll bandage up your cut and I think I might have something to help the pain ease off a little bit. Then we'll get'cha something to eat. And after that...well I don't know what we'll do. Sound good?" The addressed nodded, because that actually did sound like a really good idea to him.
"Okay. But Gerard...do you think I could maybe borrow some clothes...or wash these. I mean I don't wanna be any trouble, but I-" He didn't get to finish though, for he was silenced by the wave of Gerard's hand.

"Shut up worrying about being trouble to me, cause you're not. Use whatever you need...or want, or...whatever. Just make yourself at home. 'Kay, sugar?" For the first time that morning, Frank smiled.

"Okay." He whispered as Gerard left the room to start a bath for him. Then it occurred to Frank that he had yet to thank Gerard, which was really rude of him. But before he could really feel guilty, Gerard came back, clad in nothing but a pair of black boxers with thin neon green stripes and a damp washcloth in hand. "I figured it would probably be better to clean off some of the blood first, you know, so it doesn't get the water all gross and bloody."

Frank moved to remove his shirt, but froze in his place when pain shot through his torso.

"Here, I got it." The raven moved over the boy, carefully straddling Frank and eased the shirt over his head. "There ya go." He gave those plump lips a quick kiss before cleaning away the blood and helping Frank up.
"Come on." He wrapped an arm around the small waist, helping Frank into the large and almost spa like bathroom. Gerard pulled off Frank's socks and unbuttoned his pants, yanking them down along with his boxers, ignoring the insistent protest coming from Frank claming he was 'perfectly capable of doing it himself'. Finally when Frank was stripped and Gerard was about to help him into the over-sized tub, the raven's voice came quiet and almost unsure sounding.

"Hey Frankie...do you think maybe I could get in with you? I mean, it's not like you have anything I haven't seen before, and-"

Frank interrupted him. "Sure...if you want." He tried to control his voice, because the thought of being naked with Gerard in a bath tub made him feel kind of like a school girl.

Gerard bit back a smile, settling into the tub first, then holding Frank's hand to keep him from slipping. Gerard relaxed, sinking down in the water, resting his head against the porcelain of the tub, Frank's back against his chest, his head resting at Gerard's neck.

"You'll feel better here in a second, Frankie. Promise." Frank believed him too, as he could already feel the effects of the water that was just hot enough to relax his muscles without burning his skin.

"This feels nice." He commented after a few moments of peaceful silence.

"Mm-hmm."
Gerard didn't realize how much of a luxury this was to Frank; the boy had been starved, beaten, raped, and spent too many nights out in the cold for three years. So saying this was 'nice' was an understatement.

"Hey Gerard?" Frank asked quietly, not wanting to disturb Gerard in his relaxed state.

"Yeah baby?" Gerard didn't think about whether it was okay for him to call Frank that. It just felt right and he was too relaxed to think about all the lines they were crossing. That could be dealt with later.

"Thank you...for you know, coming back for me. I just don't understand why you did it. I'm not worth it." This really caught the raven's attention, because Frank was worth it, and it bothered him that he couldn't see that.

Frank felt strong arms envelop his small frame. Gerard’s voice was full of conviction when he spoke his next words. “I don’t know what ignorant fuck told you that or made you believe that, but it’s not fucking true, okay? You matter to me. A lot. That’s why I done it.” The words were spoken with a finality. Gerard had his mind made up and it was absolutely useless to argue.

“You seriously mean that?” Frank couldn’t comprehend the concept that he could matter to anyone.

“Yeah Frankie, I seriously mean that.”

They sat like that a moment longer and Frank felt something like Gerard’s lips on his shoulder. He didn’t know how to react to that, he liked it. A lot, more than he should, but he still didn’t know what to do.

“You need to relax, Frankie.” Gerard moved his hands up and down Frank’s sides and over the bruised torso, his lips kissing up and down the delicate and tattooed skin of Frank’s neck.

“Wh-what are y-you doing G-Ger-arrd?” A small moan escaped Frank’s lips as Gerard began to gently suck and nip at the skin.

“What’s wrong, Frankie? Don’t you like it?” Actually he liked it a lot, but Gerard knew that.

“N-no, i-it’s not that. I just didn’t know what y-you were-”

“If it feels good don’t question it. Just enjoy it.”

Frank was enjoying it.

“Okay.” A small whine in the back of his throat.

They finished their bath with Gerard washing Frank and ever so often kissing or licking or nipping at the skin. When they got out Gerard insisted on drying Frank off. He said it was because Frank needed to rest and not put too much strain on his body. But really all he wanted to do was touch him. He also loved taking care of the boy, something Gerard found to be very strange.

Gerard moved the large fluffy towel over the damp skin, being extra careful not to irritate the wound on Frank’s stomach. He dried Frank’s hair, reveling in how soft it was before wrapping frank up in the towel and hugging him to his chest. He was so soft and warm. Snuggle-able. If that was even a word. Like a teddy bear, but he wasn’t at all chubby. Gerard doubted the boy had an ounce of fat on him.

He let go, pulling Frank into the bedroom, getting dressed, then left to find a first-aid kit, returning a moment later with said first-aid kit in hand. “Okay, Frankie. Let’s get’cha all doctored up.” He have the boy a reassuring smile as he straddled Frank, his ass sitting on the smaller boy’s thighs as he began his work.

“I’m just warning you; this is gonna sting.” Frank really wished he hadn’t told him that.
Gerard was right, it did sting. Like a bitch- no, like a stupid mother fucker. Which is exactly what he said when as soon as Gerard put it on the cut. “You’re cute when you cuss.” Frank giggled despite the pain. “Ha! Made you laugh.” Gerard said with a smug grin on his face. He applied the bandage and gave Frank a quick kiss. “There ya go. All better.” He grinned, felling just a tad cocky, because Frank was obviously in a much better mood, and it was because of him.

“Wanna eat?”

~ ~*~ ~

The rest of the day went by lazily. Neither of them done much; Frank tried to make macaroni and cheese, but burnt it. He has set the plates down on the table with a sheepish smile as he watched Gerard’s reaction, which was “Frankie...um...no offense, but uh what is that?” He asked, honestly having no clue what the smoldering black glob on the plate was supposed to be.
“It’s Cajun!” He had proclaimed with an adorable amount of enthusiasm, flinging his hands in the air and almost hitting the fighter in the face with the wooden spoon. Gerard laughed harder than he had since he could remember. “God sugar, you’re too funny.” Frank swelled with pride at making Gerard laugh.

They had finally settled on ordering mushroom pizza, cause Frank was a vegetarian. Gerard didn’t mind though.

After that they watched horror movies; Gerard wrapped his arms around Frank when the kid got freaked out and buried his face in Gerard’s hair. Something Gerard thought was adorable. All day they laughed and joked and played video games until they finally went to bed around one in the morning. Which is where they were now.

Frank was curled up to Gerard’s chest, his head resting in the crook of the older man’s neck. Gerard though he was asleep, but really he was just thinking about how good Gerard was to him. Gerard really did make him feel safe and cared for, something he hadn’t felt in way too long.

“Hey Gerard?” Frank whispered, not knowing if Gerard was asleep, and not wanting to wake him if he was.

“Thank you...for being so good to me.”

“You’re just to sweet to treat any other way.” Was the raven’s reply.

“I don’t wanna leave you.” Frank whispered, afraid he was crossing the line with his last comment.

“Then don’t.”

Because the truth was Gerard didn’t want Frank to leave him either.

And I said hey hallelujah, I’m gonna come on sing the praise. That’s seriously how I felt when I finished this. Cause I’m done with this chapter. Ready for the next, which I’m really excited for, by the way. Please be nice and rate and review this. Chapter six should be up tomorrow. Hopefully.
