I tied my brown, straightened hair into a messy bun and sighed. Another boring day working at the local book store, PLUS it was a Saturday. I could be over at Franks place or painting in my room but no. I had to sell books and put up with the school sluts that come to the shop JUST to annoy the crap out of me.
I put my Radiohead hoodie on, said bye to Dan and started walking out of the home.
Yes, I did just say 'the home' not 'my home' but 'the home.' I'll never consider it to be my official home. I've been in there since I was 13. I guess I would rather be there then with my pathetic excuse of a father.
Let me tell you a little bit about my messed up life before we do anything else. When I wasn't in the home, I had lived with my dad for 13 years, I never had a mum, she died when giving birth to me, yeah sad, but I don't give a crap about her anyways. I was brutally abused by David (my dad) since I was 5. He left me scars that I can never hide, never forget and that won't ever fade. He even took away something so special away from me when I was 11. Something I won't ever be able to get back. Yup, you guessed right, I was raped by my biological father at the age of 11. It hurts just to think about it, how weak and defeated I was, and the fact he never gave two fucks about what happened to me after wards. My best friend had the guts to tell the social services and they put him behind bars, and me in a foster home, I just turned 17 and I'm still here.
Frank is and was the only person I've trusted, I trust him with my life, he's been there since day one - literally.
We were both born on October 31st, 1981. Only he was born 2 hours before me, and he reminds me everyday. He knows every tiny thing about me, from my favorite type of weather to what I feel about cucumbers. Both our mothers were extremely close, so if I wasn't in MY house, I was at Franks. His mother also knows about what my dad did to me, and that's one of the reasons she lets me stay there so very often.
If you think my life can't get any worse than that, think again, I was diagnosed with a bipolar and eating disorder when I was 15, which makes it even harder to socialize with ANYONE, and I got treated like a piece of trash at school, still do in fact. Me and Frank have been shoved into lockers, pushed into ponds, got our homework copied, our lunch money stolen, etc. But now that we've turned 17, we can stand up for ourselves a little, well, Frank can.
I reached the oh-so familiar scent of herbs and entered the shop with a feeling that today was going to be long. The shop is called Turn The Paige's. The manager is called Paige and he decided that was what he was going to name the shop. Stupid, if you ask me, but original. You're not gonna find another shop named that, trust me.
I got started on organizing the shelves a bit when I feel a heavy object collide with my back, I hit the ground and groaned in pain as my head throbbed.
"Frank?! Why must you greet me with such force?" I yell at him.
"D'aw, love you too, baby," He chuckled and helped me up.
"Why are you here, anyway, I thought you were going to visit some family with your mum," I picked a book of the ground and dusted it off.
"My mum said I didn't have to go because I wouldn't know any of the people there, and I came here because I wanted to save you from your boredom."
"Oh gee, thanks," I answered with no sign of happiness, but obviously he didn't seem to detect it.
"EEP! I know you'd be happy! Hey, wanna come over to my place after wards? Some friends of mine are staying over and we're having a movie night in."
"Sure, but didn't you have a Prencey Prep practice?" I began to wait by the counter if any customers needed assistance.
"They cancelled it, because John's in hospital at the moment, he broke his foot last week," Frank answered.
He sat on the counter and started to play with my now loose hair, he tends to do that if he's bored, we're just that close.
"Ouch."
Now that I had Frank with me the day went by in a blur. We talked, I sold books, we talked some more, he annoyed the people in the store, got kicked out at some point, but managed to get back in, I really don't know what I'm going to do with this boy.
