Saira's POV.
After my shift had ended, I said bye to Frank and told him I'd be at his house at around 6:30pm. I rushed home and decided to have a shower. The time was now 4:15, I had tons of time. I had asked Frankie who was going to be there and he told me that I'd met on or two of them before, but it must have been a very brief encounter. Though I do remember someone with curly hair and another that was quite round...
I forgot about the boys and was straightening my hair when one of the kids in the home barged into my room. You don't get any privacy in a care home, but I guess that's the best part of it, the noise, bustle and cries from the youngsters...
I put my straightener down and pulled Kelly onto my lap, she was around 3 years of age and I was the only one she talked to, I had practically known her since she was born. She has jet black hair that went to her mid back and sea-blue eyes that I was secretly jealous of.
"What's wrong Kelly?" I let her lean onto my chest.
"The big giants were being mean about my mum again," She barely whispered.
She calls the bullies that live here 'big giants' because of how small they make her look and feel.
"Hey, don't listen to them! They don't know anything about you; never believe a word they tell you, okay? And if they carry on, poke 'em in the buttcrack with a stick," I said, chuckling.
She giggled and hugged me round my neck.
"I love you Si-si,"
"I love you too, now let me straighten my hair."
She sat on my bed with her doll and watched me apply some make-up and do all of the crap.
It was so quiet until someo-
"Sup, suga'!"
I rolled my eyes; it could only be one person. Frank.
Kelly giggled and jumped onto Franks back.
"Hey, Frank, I thought I was meeting up at your house?"
I finished with my make-up and looked through my closet for something to wear, luckily I had put on some shorts and a tank before Frank came in.
"They said they were going to be a little bit late, so I thought I might as well come here," He started to play fight will Kelly and by Franks face you could tell he loved kids.
"Cool."
I quickly grabbed some skinny jeans, a Smashing Pumpkins tee and went to change in the bathroom.
When I came out they were still fighting, but now Kelly had Frank on the floor and she sure was proud of winning. Frank looked up at me and got up in a rush, he looked my up and I swear I saw his cheeks go bright red.
"Uh, um, you look...n-nice," He stuttered.
"Thanks."
This has been happening more and more often recently, he would blush whenever I playfully sat on his lap, and sometimes he actually couldn't help himself and then his little friend down there would come out to play.
I think it's just s phase of becoming a man...he'll grow out of it..I hope.
I looked at myself in the mirror before we left and actually I didn't look to bad. The eyeliner I had put on made my green eyes pop, and my fringe which I had dyed red made me look less pale than before.
I kissed Kelly good-bye and we started to make our way to Franks.
"How many people are coming?" I linked my arm with Franks as we walked.
"Just four people, you'll probably recognize Ray, he's very hard to miss."
We both laughed and stayed silent for the rest of the walk.
*
We had just gotten the popcorn ready when we heard the door bell ring through the small house.
"Yo Frankie! Open the door, man!" I heard some boys shout from outside the house.
"I'm coming!" He yelled back.
I have to admit, I was kinda nervous to meet four boys, I mean, I never had any good relationships with men, apart from Frank I guess. All the men I ever meet just want me in their pants. Not the greatest feeling in the world.
Frank opened the door and they all piled into the house. I noticed the curly headed one first, I think I remember him..Raymond? He had afro like hair and looked quite friendly to me.
Then I saw the blonde one, he had quite a round figure but didn't look that frightening, he kinda looked like a giant teddy bear to me. Next was quite a tall man, taller than Frank of course, you could tell he had dyed his hair black, but it looked good on him, he was a bit chubby, I didn't really care though.
I wouldn't have actually seen the last one if Frank didn't hug him. He was skinny, really skinny, had brown hair and wore these awesome glasses that I was so jealous of. I mean, they're so cool! I noticed his Radiohead tee instantly and smiled.
They all sat down in the living room and I that meant I had to come into the picture somehow...
I walked in and sat in between Frank and the one with the awesome glasses. I really needed to tell him how rad they looked.
"Oh guys, I forgot, this is Saira, my best mate," Frank introduced me to everyone and I smiled back at them.
Stay cool, Saira, it wouldn't hurt to make new friends.
Besides, I need a social life, for Christ's sake!
I was broken out of my thoughts from someone tapping my shoulder.
"You like Smashing Pumpkins?" was it...Mikey? That's right.
"Yus, how about you?" I asked him.
Everyone was into their own conversations, and when I talked to Mikey it felt like it was only the two of us in the room.
"Oh my god! I love them they're awesome!" He exclaimed.
"So are your glasses!" I just couldn't help myself.
He laughed and adjusted them on his nose.
"They're alright...I guess...”
"What?! I wish I had glasses like them! Mine are so boring and black and..."
"Okay, I get the point," He laughed again.
Aw, he has an adorable laugh, it's just so contagious.
"So, Mikey, right?"
"Yeah and...Saira? That's one heck of a name!"
"Gee, thanks...so tell me a bit about you self.”
So we talked and talked and talked, and I realized we had so much in common, we like the same type of music, food, both wear glasses, he was born in 1980, he's addicted to coffee, Gerard is his older brother (the one that had dyed his hair black) and he lives with his parents.
I told him the most randomest things that I don't think he cared about, but somehow the look in his eyes made me think he wanted to know, so I told him my thoughts on cucumbers & apple pie, how much I love sloths, that I've been besties with Frankie since we were in diapers, told him my date of birth, I would have carried on but Bob (the blonde one) reminded everyone why we were actually here.
"Oh yeah, I totally forgot, it's movie night!" Ray cried.
Stuff like 'dickhead' and 'fucktard' were being shouted at him, and Bob gave him one hell of a happy slap.
Ray started to pout so I stood up and hugged him protectively.
"Hey, don't be mean to the fro!" I told them in a motherly tone.
"Yeah, don't be mean to him!" Ray said.
"Are we talking in third person now?" I laughed.
"Yes, we are! Hey, this is kinda fun!"
I laughed again and sat back in my original seat.
It was then I realized we were watching a horror movie, I hate scary movies, like seriously, I couldn't sleep for about a month after watching one, well, I'll just have to stay calm and bite my tongue when I feel like screaming.
Mikey's POV.
"Wow, Frank made us walk in this weather, all the way to his house? Are you fucking kidding me? He better have a good movie on otherwise I'mma kick his short ass," Bob said shivering from the cold.
"Oh well, even if he doesn't, I'm going to crash there for the night, I ain't walking back to my house for no bitch," Gerard shouted.
"Guys! Keep your voices down! We're here now!" Ray yelled from the other side of the street.
Bob knocked, well, that's putting it lightly, Bob nearly broke the door down with his fist.
"Yo Frankie! Open the door man!" He boomed.
"Damn, someones pissed," Ray snickered.
"Shut it, Toro," Bob practically spat.
Ray put his hands up in defense and rushed inside the house.
We all said are hellos and all of us tried to get warm really quickly. I looked around the house, wasn't much different the last time I saw it, Franks home always had a warm vibe to it, no matter what
I looked to the back of the room and saw a small girl fixing the bowl with popcorn in it, she had long, brown hair and a red fringe, and I think she had a lip ring on too. But before I noticed that, I realized she had a Smashing Pumpkins tee on. I already knew we were going to get along.
I sat next to Frank and the small girl comes and sits in-between us.
"Oh guys, I forgot, this is Saira, my best mate," Frank introduced her and I said hey too.
I tapped her shoulder awkwardly and waited for her response. She turned around and looked at me with the greenest eyes I've seen in my short life, they were amazing to look at.
I started talking to her and found out we had a lot in common. She was rambling on and on but I didn't stop her, if it were possible I would never try to stop her, it was adorable to watch her talk about her love for sloths, and how she just couldn't stand to look at cucumbers and apple pie.
We talked more until the film actually started, I saw her stiffen up, and obviously she doesn’t like horror movies. To make her feel a bit better I put my arm around her shoulders and pulled her closer.
"You don't mind, do you?" I asked her quietly.
"Don't mind what?" She looked up at me with her green orbs.
I made a hand gesture to my arm around her shoulder and heard her giggle. That probably meant she didn't care.
Phew.
During the film, she would often bury her head in my chest, I wasn't complaining, and would now and again make comments on how fake the blood and gore looked. Nobody would pay attention, I did of course...
When the film had ended everyone was clearing up the living room.
"Frank? Can we stay the night? It's really late and cold outside," Gerard asked.
"Sure, I mean, if your parents won't mind," Frank replied.
We shook our heads meaning that they wouldn't and got our sleeping bags out. I saw Saira getting her hoodie and quickly rushed up to her.
"You're going?" Great, I bet I sounded so desperate.
"Yeah, I've gotta to go, or I'll get into big trouble," She chuckled.
"Oh c'mon, I'm sure your parents won't mind, I mean Frank's your best friend, right?" Once that came out of my mouth I immediately regretted, her face fell and she looked like breaking down any second.
"I've g-gotta go, bye Frank, I'll see you on Monday!"
And with that she left.
Oh man, I messed up my chance with her already.
"Mikey, would did you do?" Gerard asked.
"I did nothing! I just said that I don't think her parents would mind if she stayed over," I defended myself.
"Don't ask her about her family," Frank stated.
"Why?" Ray asked curiously.
"Just, don't."
